Post by forzalfc Mon Jul 27, 2015 9:52 am

Regional draw again which is a bit unfortuate as there's a pretty good chance we could face either the huns or st mirren.

Draw made this afternoon and potential opponents...

    - Annan
    - Ayr Utd
    - Dumbarton
    - QoS
    - Queens Park
    - Rangers
    - St Mirren

Queens Park or Annan at home would do nicely for us.

Anyone at home would do me, particularly QP.

If it's away then QP or Sevco would be ok. QP away or home would give us a more than decent chance of progressing and the Sevco away would at least give us a good bit of dosh and I'd still rate our chances against them. Hibs had a makeshift team out on Sat and were absolute dire in defence, I'm not scared of us playing Sevco, they wont run over the top of teams just because they put 6 past a makeshift Hibs side.

If its a 50/50 split in takings a 20,000 crowd at Ipox could generate about £200,000 for us.

Even taking into account costs etc. that could easy our money worries considerably.

QoS Away - possibly the worst possible outcome (slightly above Ayr United)

Did well against them last season and would say we've a stronger team this season and they've a weaker one, so we'll prob lose.

Love how they make it a regional draw to save teams travelling, yet we actually have to travel further than we would've with most of the teams in the 'Northern section'. Pish draw, hopefully a chance of getting to the quarter finals though.

Considering we play them 3 days before at home both teams should know what to expect.

If Rutherford is at left back we need to start with Hippolyte on the right or Georgiev and not Gary Glen. Gary's too flat and easy to mark out; also think Rutherford will more than match him for speed.

Hope we get a better referee than that today. Not saying we wouldn't have lost anyway but I wouldn't have shouted myself as hoarse as I did.

    Wonder what Hector thought. Wink

Our hold on the cup will be ended; we will not be as fortunate again with their poor finishing.

QoS 2 Livi 0 (cause we ain't even creating any real chances)

Our league form had no bearing on our cup form last season, think it'll be the same this one too, although the cup form gave us a much needed lift in the league so hopefully that will continue. Gordon and Gallagher should be in for this game, that in itself gives us a stronger defence, hopefully Hippo will be back up front as he loves scoring in this comp.

Really hope Burchil gives Sheerin more game time, would love him to start this game with White but can't see Buchanan being dropped.

Feel we need to play 352 as it makes sense with the squad we have just now.
    DJ
    Gallagher,Gordon,Neil
    Millen,Pittman, Cole,Glen,Hippo
    White,Buchanan

That means dropping Sives,Gibbons and Mullen.

I still think Buchanan and White can do well together but we need to get players wide. Millen is getting better with game time and Hippo is better on the left. Both these players could play as wing backs and stretch Queens.
I just don't like one up as when a great through ball was played through to Buchanan from Pittman on Saturday he had to go slightly wide to get in but had nobody in the box  to square it to.

    352 the way to go
Gives Neil an opportunity to shine as Sives is very undisciplined as a player to play as a back three.

Gives some width with Millen and Hippo, having Glen and Cole in the middle allows Pittman to drive forward and hopefully more through balls to the front men with two in the box this time to feed off one another.

This will allow the strikers up top to prove they can play together with some decent service.

    Football management  is easy haha

Both teams are poor, we are poorer than Queens. I honestly can't see Queens or us scoring a lot of goals. 0-0 FT, 1-0 AET Queens. 1st Goal 103 mins.

DJ, Longridge, Gordon, Sives, Gallagher, Hippolyte, Cole, Pittman, Georgiev, White & Sheerin. #livilive

Happy to see Sheerin starting with White but not too confident seeing Sives still in there as CB with Gordon and Gallagher being put in at RB.

Can't seem to get Longridge and Millen starting as FB's together, but at least Hippo will be playing aa an attacking midfielder again, needs to stick to the left wing though and not wander about all over the pitch like he did at Raith.
