Couple of long stoppages for injured players getting treatment then the sending off when they didn't give us the ball back after we chucked it out for a Livi player to get treatment. We gave them the ball back 3 or 4 times after their keeper knocked it out, DJ put it out and they took the throw in and carried on with the game, Mullen went in full bloodied and caught the guy. The lad was stretchered off and St Mirren had used up all their subs so they went down to 10 men too. Laughing

At last we started Gallagher and Gordon as CB's with Millen & Longridge as the FB. Much better balance to the team and we were getting down the wings with Hippo working overlaps with both FB's, he just wanders from side to side. Laughing

Pittman was superb, gave us much needed ball player in midfield who rarely misplaced a pass. We were a bit slack in our passing at the start, as was St Mirren, they put in a few meaty challenges too and got 2 yellow cards for their trouble. Once it settled down Livi were the better team knocking it about and working the ball well to get service to Buchanan, absolute belter of a goal from him too. Shame we conceded going into HT from a free kick just outside the box as we deserved to be ahead.

Gibbons played well in midfield too and Georgiev came on he was running rings round them working well with Hippo down the wing to get crosses from the byeline. Well deserved winner from Gallagher and we managed to hang on to the end with DJ making a cracking block when they hit us on the break.

Don't want to get carried away but we should beat them again on Sat, if we play with the same tempo and performance as tonight.

I see St Mirren supporters defending Goodwin saying it was not a foul when he was yellow carded and he is not that way inclined- are they kidding 61 bookings and 4 red cards!!!!

Would rather he had stayed on, he couldn't handle our quick players and would've been red carded sooner or later.

From Twitter: "St Mirren should refuse to play against thugs from @LiviFCOfficial on Saturday"

This lot seem worse than Cowden fans, could be a fun season.

Looked like they didn't want to play tonight too, they were pish.

Want to see the highlights as it looked like Goodwin deliberately elbowed Mullen in the head when he got a yellow card. I was getting my kill at their fans though, was faf listening to their moaning all game.

Pleasantly surprised at this result. Sounds like a much improved performance which is the arguably the main thing after the shite we've witnessed so far.

Provided we don't stray too far from the pack, these cup games are probably more important for us at this point in terms of getting money.

Only thing that disappointed me was DJ's kicking again even Mullen was getting annoyed with it. oes he not practice during the week?
Although only 100 or so Livi fans there we made ourselves heard.
Would be nice to have a bigger crowd there Saturday. St Mirren fans spent more time towards the end berating their own team rather than encouraging them. Hopefully the gap between opposing fans (if we are in the same stand) will be bigger Saturday.

That was probably one of the most entertaining Livi games I've been to in recent years and we deservedly came out as winners. For most parts of the game we were in control and like others have said, this is down to a familiar formation with players in their best positions. Other than injuries, I can't see Burchill changing that team for Saturday but knowing our luck we'll be slack and get gubbed.

For me: Deks, Gibbons, Longridge and Pittman stood above the rest. Millen's final ball could improve and can someone please teach DJ on how to organise walls and save free kicks? The boy has no confidence when it comes to facing them and it's evident to see that from games this season and last.

He did two in a row kicking it straight out of play but his kicks did get a bit better after that. We're never going to win many balls kicked high to Mullen or Buchanan but if there are players following up to get the 2nd ball then it's fine.

In general our midfield dominated St Mirren and only time they troubled us was on the break. Their fans are getting pissed off with Murray's tactics of playing like that, allowing other teams more possession than them as they're used to being a big team (SPL/Premiership status) and are not happy about us Championship diddies dominating play.

Watched Buchanan's goal 5 times there, absolute belter of a goal and from a DJ kick out too. Shocked Laughing

Gallagher was as cool as you like for the winner, what a boi.

Not getting to see Mullen's tackle, LIVItv maybe learnt from the Talbot incident and not wanting to give the compliance officer a reason to get involved?

DJ IMO sucked for both Saints goals.

Brilliant equaliser for us, good opportunistic pounce for the 2nd & you would think Big Dec was a seasoned goalscorer with his winner.
