Cracking result for Scotland against Wales yesterday, they played really well considering 5 key players were missing with injuries.

That's 2 good home results, wins over Ireland and Wales, and a bad result against France away where everything went wrong. We're sitting in 3rd place with 9 points, 4 behind England who are 1st.

Next up is England v Scotland on the 11th March, should be a cracker.

Amazingly our rugby team is ranked 5th in the world! I knew we had improved recently but hadn't realised by how much.

I went to a game at Murrayfield on boxing day between Edin and Glasgow, there were a lot of Scotland players in the Glasgow Warriors team, was a bit one sided. Haven't seen them play since they became good, went to a couple of games at Murrayfield when we played South Africa and New Zealand and we got gubbed, i'lll have to get to a game just to see a Scotland win.

Would be some result if we could beat England next weekend.

It would be some result if we don't lose heavily, despite our lofty ranking

Shite day all round results wise for Livi and Scotland's rugby team. England are on an impressive run, looks like they've got the 6 nations wrapped up.

What a comeback today, 31-0 down to take the lead and have England scraping a 38-38 points draw with us at the end. Regained the Calcutta cup too. cheers

How do we regain it in a draw? I think you mean Scotland retained the cup.

Posted by LF on the wrong thread: Kept.

That's all you have to say, being pedantic, nothing about the game? FFS Bertie.lol!

I switched it over before HT thinking we were well stuffed, turned it back again in the 2nd half to see the damage, only to see we were making a comeback, what a game that must've been for anyone attending down at Twickenham. Shame we didn't manage to hang on for the win but still a massive effort from the players to get a draw
.”

The first I knew of it was a reporter on Sky describing the last few minutes with Scotland leading & England pressing & keeping the ball live. I thought at first it was the final result but noticed he was speaking in the present tense. Tried to find the match thinking it was on BBC, discovered it was on STV & got it on screen as England celebrated their try & then saw the conversion which only Gavin Hastings could have missed. So aside from hearing about the almost New England Patriots-esque fight back I really knew nothing about the game.

But I do know you cannot regain something that you already have in your possession. Greggy

Might be wrong but the cup will prob be handed back to be presented to whoever wins it this year, so technically we must've regained its possession when we got it back again. Very Happy

Good try but nope, if you are the defending champion & you don’t lose your title then you retain it, the only way you can regain it is to win it back after losing it. The technicality of handing it back to the competition organisers in order to have it presented back to you doesn’t change the English language.

How do you pronounce scones Bertie?

Bet you say it the same way as Mrs Liviforever, is it scones as in owns, or scones as in ons, or are you a right posh aunt and say scoons as in the palace. Suspect

It has to be scone as in “you can’t have your cake & eat it too because as soon as you’ve eaten it, it’s scone.” lol!
