Actually the real point is we need 2000 regular punters through the door for every home game else we wont be able to hold on to what we have already let alone attracting proven new talent in on a permanent basis.

    Mackin?

Boyd seems the same type of player Mullen is, which isn't a bad thing, we need his energy up front. Also see he likes to have a pop at goal from outside the box, both Mullen and Pittman used to do that but haven't this season for some reason, so would be good to see Boyd scoring some long range goals.

He seems to score but isn't exactly prolific or dynamic.

If we want him to score more regularly, then we need to change our style to accommodate him. Shots & crosses into the box for him to either divert or knock in the rebound.

We have more chance of turning Mackin into a dynamic, prolific scorer an we have of getting 2000 folk in regularly.

Dunno if he'll ever be dynamic but if he scores 15 goals in the Championship he'd be classed as prolific for this level, and even as a lazy arsed fecker he'd be capable of that if he got regular starts. But he'd need to up his work rate off the ball if he wants to get the starts to score those goals because Hoppy wont play him if he isn't pulling his weight.

Rumour has is that we're on the verge of bringing in Nathan Austin from Falkirk. Not sure of the details, but someone on P&B has said it's in the papers this morning. He's a striker who seems to have a decent scoring record.

He was an unused sub on Tuesday night. His scoring record looks ok though.

Sounds like he's a replacement for Mullen if his said tendency to go to ground are to be believed.

Hope to feck the rumour that Pittman going the other way is false though, he'd be a massive loss to our midfield.

I would be bitterly disappointed if we let Pittman go now. Fair enough in the summer if he wants to go but after losing Danny this would be a step too far for me. We have the best squad we've had for years and doing well. If we got to the play offs we could get decent money from the games so why not go for it and give the fans a reason to come to games. Selling off our players will just drive them away. I'm starting to wonder now if the rumours about financial worries have any basis. It's different if you lose a player for big money a la Lewis Morgan at St Mirren but this is fire sale stuff.

If Pittman has any ambition to play at a higher level then he shouldn't be thinking about Falkirk yet. If they are offering funny money however....

I'd hate to see our most consistent player going anywhere but every player has a price. If he does go & we accept less than 6 figures then we might as well shut the doors because that would indicate the current board are just playing at it.

Doesn't look like he's going anywhere after all, which is good but gives me the fear that we might actually lose a couple more in January, and more than a couple in the summer.

Nathan Austin leaves Falkirk by mutual consent, wonder if he's heading our way or somewhere else.

First movement of 2018 as Craig Henderson is off to Cowdenbeath on loan.

They've ruined the last few young players we've sent their way so unfortunately for Craig he'll be in the juniors next season.

Well it appears he was playing in Inverness today as a 70th minute sub... But in Caley Thistle colours.

Yep, he was heading to Livi but Caley stepped in and offered him a lot more money, and a rent free house to live in I believe. It'll be interesting to see how they do next season after failing to get promoted and having to tighten their belts. Feels a bit weird how Livi are sticking to a budget and not taking a gamble to get players and other teams are being a bit less frugal.

Austin must feel like he's won the lottery... Career going stale at struggling (for now anyway) Falkirk; gets a chance at a move to a side going well then another steps in that is clearly an improving side with a better offer.

18 months contract too, so is set up for next season as well. Would've been an ideal player for Hoppy to work with and get him back to his best but another one will no doubt come along.

By the looks of our squad we're in need of some loan players ASAP, Keaghan injured, Boyd injured, Penrice back to his parent club, no idea what's happened to McMillan but his loan deal will be up too, and still no sign of Ross Brown.
Sampson, Hamilton, Henderson, Peters and Ogilvie are all out on loan too, maybe should be thinking of bringing back Ogilvie at least, he's had some first team experience.n

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Partick Thistle have confirmed they'll be holding onto Penrice when his loan runs out (Queen of the South - 6th January).

There is still a chance for us to try for an extension on Penrice surely?

I'd imagine we did but they'll want him in the first team with how they've struggled so far.

Only if they consider him to be better than their current 1st team - in which case they could have terminated the loan early but they didn't. I think he has been brilliant for us & would like the club to let us know that they tried to extend the loan or make it permanent.

Remember the keeper from a couple of years back from Dundee United? He went back to United at the end of his initial loan but then came back to us towards the end of the transfer window... I'm hoping something similar happens with Penrice

Jordan Thompson of Rangers has joined us on loan until the end of the season. Seems he played the majority of last season on loan at Raith in central midfield, but can also play LB and LWB. The reviews from Raith fans aren't the best though... Hoping Hopkin can turn him into a useful asset in the squad. I'm guessing his signing is a clear indication Penrice isn't coming back.

Yeah, that puts a different slant on it.

What would RR fans know tho eh? Seriously tho they were a team in turmoil while we are doing ok, so maybe he'll be decent.

    Who was that masked man?

He was the loan ranger (loan the ranger doesn't quite work).

I see that Austin only lasted 9 mins for ICT today. Off injured. Maybe we got lucky?
