I thought it might be an idea to track who's signed who in the Championship. I'm sure there's more but here's what I can remember/find on the SPFL website. Rumours are welcome but I'll put them in this post when the transfer is confirmed.

    Alloa
    Mark Docherty (Stranraer)
    David Weatherston (Stirling)

    Cowdenbeath
    Sean Higgins (Stenhousemuir)

    Hearts
    Soufian El Hassnaoui (Sparta)
    Margaro Gomis (Dundee United)
    James Keatings (Hamilton Accies)

    Queen of the South
    John Baird (Raith)
    Lewis Kidd (Celtic)

    Raith
    Craig Barr (Airdrie)
    Kevin Cuthbert (Hamilton)
    Christian Nade (Dundee)
    Martin Scott (Livingston)

    The Rangers
    Darren McGergor (St. Mirren)
    Kenny Miller (Vancouver Whitecaps)

Had completely forgotten all about Craig Barr signing for Raith. Their transfer 'policy' if you like is an utter embarrassment. Complete diddy club inaw.

That's good news, with us losing McNulty I really didn't want Cowden holding onto Hemmings.

Cowden have lost 40 goals with both Hemmings and Stewart leaving. They scored 50 across the whole team in the Championship last season. So far they've replaced those goals with Sean Higgins who scored 9 in 30 for Stenhousemuir last season. I'd be very worried if I was Cowden fan right now.

Cowden fans are a deluded bunch though, they prob think they'll be challenging for a top 4 spot. Laughing

Is there any news on where Stewart is headed? Would take him at Livi.

ETA: See he's signed for Dundee, that'll be that then.

I'd take Wedderburn but he's been offered an extension at Cowden.

Ideally I'd like to see us get someone who is cheap but just good enough to keep us in the league. There is zero point in us building a squad capable of challenging the big 3. We might as well just build a squad that keeps cost to an absolute minimum so that we can actually reap the rewards of those clubs being in the league. An 8th place finish would suit me.

St Mirren have just raided League One for 3 new signings, and a 4th from Dumbarton.

Jordan Kirkpatrick -Alloa CM (good signing, surprised Hoppy didn't go for him tbh)
The 2 Ross Stewart's- Albion Rovers GK/Striker (looked decent players against us)
Gregor Buchanan- Dumbarton CB (good player from what I remember)

4 good signings for St Mirren

Morton with 5 loan players, 3 from Celtic, mini Celts.

Dumbarton with 5 loan players too, is there an actual limit how many loan players you can have?

*Edit. Just did a google search and on the SPFL website I got this:

It will now be permitted for an SPFL club to lend a maximum of two players to another SPFL club, so long as the receiving club plays in a different division (higher or lower division).
Loans between SPFL clubs in the same division continue to be restricted to one player from any one club.

    Read more at http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/spfl-adjust-loan-rules/#WUWX3y6RjfXIoTQT.99

Interesting then, because according to LL's post Morton had 3 players from Celtic on loan and you're only allowed 2 from any one team in another league.

Think it's different for Development loans though, or probably something to do with their ages. Donnelly and Lindsay are 21, Nesbitt is 20 so maybe doesn't apply to players under 21.

Honestly not sure about loan rules though so might be talking out my arse.

Wasn't easy finding out about the limit of loan players to a club, kept on giving me links to above rule about only one player allowed from a team in your own division and two from a team in another division. Anyway, finally found out you can have as many loan players in your squad as you want but can only play 5 at a time.

Which begs the question... Why should we entertain the notion that we need the Development teams from Celtic & TCFKAR in the 4th tier of the SPFL?

Got a feeling Jack Ross will be joining Dundee shortly, despite St Mirren telling them to piss off and refusing them permission to talk to him. It is out there now and Ross will decide if he wants to stay or go, bigger team and higher league, supports Dundee too I think, more money as well, odds are stacked against St Mirren. Pisser for the players he's just signed though because a new manager might not want them.

Same thing happened with Ray McKinnon; Dundee United approached Raith, were told where to go, so he just resigned and went to United.

Brechin have signed Ryan McGeever from QP, turned us down because he wants to stay PT.
