Yep, more fans at the Montrose, Ayr and Dunfermline games today, can understand Dunfermline but don't see why we should be getting attendances that aren't much better than League 1 and a couple League 2 teams.

IMO the standard of officiating is driving people away across the country and of course we have our own endless line of court cases of one type or another as we have bumbled from admin to admin thru a line of egotistical megalomaniacs running (should that be ruining?) the club.

Can't really complain about the result, 1st half QoS were the better team and really should've been ahead, but I was optimistic of our chances of grinding out a draw going into HT with 3 corners on the trot and growing into the game.

2nd half I thought we were pretty solid at the back without offering much of a goal threat, was always hoping we could get a bit of luck inside the box from a corner buy wasn't to be. Strange goal they scored, I wasn't happy we had everyone back defending the corner as the ball is always going to come back from a clearance and that's what happened, still looked a tame effort trundling into the goals.

Would've liked to have seen Mullen and Buchanan subbed with 20 mins to go and put White and Sheerin on, Sheerin is a far better target man than anyone we have and will play in White or Glen. Thought Glen put himself about a bit and did well, hope he keeps it up.

Anyway we were a lot better at the back than last week and once Gordon is baack next game we should be even better. Still need to get better up from though as we've yet to score in the league.

Thought Butchill might have tried Currie at LB rather than using Hippo. Why can't we play the ball on the ground? Delivery to our front men (other than Millen was woeful) agree on Glen thought it was one of his best games. As others have said DJ's kicking worries me maybe we should give Gould a try. Would like to see Sheerin, White, Neill,Spas and Moses start Tuesday. Can't understand why it's not working for us a lot of these guys have proven themselves elsewhere. Maybe we need more experience in midfield - Fabia? Sorry late night rambling!!

Our strikers are shite. Please someone come back to me and tell me they aren't?

Buchanan looks the biggest fraudster to date. Mullen is a ball greedy wee shite and white is Jordan fucking white. I'm in better shape than Sheerin and I've not played 90 minutes in 18 months.

Fucking horrendous team, please send us down now.

    Oh dear that was brutal.

    One or two observations.

Cole is not the answer to our midfield frailties, Gibbons is not ready for first team football we have a major problem in centre midfield.

    Goodnight.

Because what chances were created for Buchanan today, one up top is not the answer don't blame the strikers when we create heehaw.

Queens play as a team we play as individuals.

Queens don't have under 20s players playing in a crucial central midfield role.

But hey ho Achiles has a rant at the strikers, Queens created loads of chances yet they only scored once, how many chances did we create today?

As I said last week, Buchanan scored a barrowload last season in this division for a team which survived relegation by the skin of their teeth. I wouldn't label him a "fraudster", given his record speaks for itself. He is not an extraordinary striker, he is simply effective at converting chances and given that we are creating fuck all for him, or anyone for that matter, at the moment, says a lot more about the system(s) we are using at the moment.

That was a brutal watch today. Style of play was a throwback to some of the stuff under McGlynn, not quite the total dirge we were served up before he was emptied but not far off it. We lack genuine width, perhaps with the exception of Hippolyte, and again, as I said last week, we're soft as shit in centre mid. Gibbons will be a decent player but he's been thrown in the deep end a bit, and whilst I think Ayia Napa Daz is a good player nobody here can genuinely say he's got any match form or rhythm given his lack of minutes pre-season. Was good to see Millen back in at RB and he got in some good deliveries, Gallagher was similar to Cole with regards to how he played, fairly lacklustre. Felt sorry for Hippo getting punted back to LB, got caught out a good few times but improved as the game went on, perplexing how he wasn't booked though for a few tugs at shirts and niggly fouls. Mullen just looked predictable in his movements both on and off the ball, I feel he still lacks any sort of strength to hold off defenders and he needs to learn when to release the ball to others. Should've been hooked long before he came off. Glen is never a wide player, should be playing just behind the striker because I think he has the footballing brain for it, just seems to lack the pace although he was rapid in getting up to Buchanan right at the end of the first half - was genuinely shocked.

Pittman, though - MoTM by a mile. Tenacious, intelligent and creative play throughout, felt we lost any impetus in playing on the deck going forward when Gibbons came off, meaning Pittman was forced to move back slightly. He'll probably be off to some shite like Fleetwood or Crawley for £75k come January or next summer, guaranteed.

Big problems for us to be honest, never looked comfortable at any point today and we've lost that desire since the end of last season. I know there's 34 games left, but we haven't looked like creating many chances in any of our competitive games this season thus far, and looking at the fixture list, it's pretty difficult the next few weeks. Here's hoping having Gordon, Longridge, Duckrell, etc. in first team contention will get things going.

    Here's my tuppence worth.

Millen at right back - we have gone a step backward by singing him and not Dycey. I understand Dycey had to leave as he was being offered contracts elsewhere and not at livi, but the guy just isn't doing it.
Sives actually looks ok this season. Normally I would have bricked it if the ball comes near him but he's alright
Gallagher is not match fit and because of this, is not playing his best.
Hippo at left back was never going to work. Longridge obviously out injured but as someone before said, stick currie in, hippo is more effective up top.
Cole is solid, all you can ask for someone in his position. Doesn't let a lot go past him but still lacks the basics.
Gibbons. Sorry, this lads not ready at all for first team football in the championship. He does the basics ok but gets lost in a big pitch.
Pittman reminds me of scougall at times. Can change a game in an instant but needs someone more experienced to sit in with him.
Gary Glen works his arse off and fair play to him for that, but as a winger he is ineffective.
Mullen has moments of brilliance but is largely poor. Tries to do everything himself and players around him are understandably pissed off with this.
Buchanan up front on his own is not working. Not seen him do anything at all since joining and my comments before shadow how I feel about him.

We will struggle this season guys make no mistake about this, but the fact we have "3 of the top scorers from last season" playing for us makes it a little harder to take, seeing as we don't look like we could score in a brothel the last 2/3 games.

Some might call it moaning, others may call it something else. I apologise for the negativety but when you see it's not working already, it's worrying.

Playing Hippo shows Burchill for the arse he is. Not because he played him LB though injury but because of the totally unbalanced squad he as assembled. All we have is a team of 4 Center backs and how many strikers ? Hippo, Mullen White Buchanon Sheerin Duckell Glen and Burchill!!! That's 11 of our 19 outfield first team with natural position of CH or Striker Burchill assembled it and it's terrible.

Erm...Millen is RB; Longridge is a LB; Gibbons is a CM; so while I would agree we are overloaded on forwards it has not all been CH or Striker.

IMO we need an experienced midfield "general" who can sit in & release the creativity of Pittman & Hippo.

Also, despite not being a LB, Hippo was one of the better players yesterday so while it was a risk playing him there, he was largely successful in the role. So it could be argued that BUrchill is a genius for putting him there...not by me, I don't want him there again because we need his creativity up front, but it wasn't a disaster having him at LB, far from it.

We've 2 FB's too, and Dycey was terrible last season until the last 5 games, as was everyone else right enough but Dycey took years to finally nail the RB position. He's a CB at Dunfermline, which is his actual position. Give Millen a chance, it's only the 2nd league game and it's the same with all our young players really, we need to be patient with them they'll come good.

I'll hold my hands up and admit my expectations look a bit off the mark thinking we could chase 5th or 6th place, but I recognized we had a lot of under 21's in the team and I hoped the fans would give them a break, I know how we fans can get frustrated and let it spill out on the players.

Alloa are going to def struggle so that's good, Dumbarton have surprised me, beggars are doing it again this season and punching above their weight but Raith looked crap despite putting 3 past us, still think we can get above them, St Mirren look terrible too but will wait till we play them before deciding if we can target them to get above. Morton will prob be another we can get above.

Maybe this is a reality check, and 8th place should be our aim, getting above Alloa and Morton, then hopefully looking at Raith and whoever else is around us come Jan/Feb to get above them.

Yeah I said that to my mate yesterday about Hippo, he did ok there but it was like when we put Scougall as the holding midfielder to get the ball out of defence, a waste of his talent not having him in an attacking role. Hippo nicked the ball off players and got it out of defence but I'd much rather he was doing that up field and driving at defenders to give us a goal threat.

Oh and I disagree with Achilles about Sives, Hippo was covering his ass yesterday, Sives is just too slow and gets left for dead in games, he wins everything in the air but on the ground he's always a bit of a liability. If Gordon and Gallagher are not able to play together I'd rather have Neill in there with one of them.

Interesting reading on P&B that the QoS fans all thought Kidd's challenge on Hippo when he was on the ground would've been a red card, just our luck with ref decisions as Kidd went on to score the goal.
Thought there was a strong shout for a hand ball against Queens too for a penalty, they say these things balance themselves out over the season though. Rolling Eyes

Apologies to Achilles for having a wee go on Sat night but was just frustrated another defeat and had too much bevvy. Achilles you are entitled to your opinion mate just like us all on here as we all want the best for the club.
Maybe the most worrying thing about the weekend was not the performance but the size of the crowd really poor indeed.

From where I was sitting, I winced at the challenge from Kidd on Hippo.

He left the ground, leg was straight, studs showing into Hippo who was prone on the ground. Any other ref would have red-carded him. If it was the other way around the video would be on social media and the compliance officer would be looking at it this morning.

Ignoring that though, we were dire.

No shape, Hippo did the best that he could, but he is no left back. We looked vulnerable down that wing and the QOS of last year would have stuck Carmichael down that wing and destroyed us.

Cole and Gibbons are too similar a player and should not be in midfield together. Both tried to play the holding role which meant that we had no-one battering forward which left very little support for both Pittman and Buchanan.

Mullen faded out of the game and Glen never got into the game. They were both worse when Burchill switched wings.

Pittman for me was Man of the Match and we were lucky that it was this QOS team we were facing and not last years as last years would have pumped 5 or 6 past us.

Cole should have been Left Back, Hippo on the left wing with Glen up front with Buchanan and Pittman and Gibbons in midfield.

Our squad is short of quality and today exposed the glaring holes that we have.

We need another midfielder and a left back. I know that Burchill has a limited budget. Could he not be approaching the likes of Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen or Dundee Utd with the view of bringing in a couple of players on loan?

Thought Glen played well breaking play up and getting stuck in, not sure Cole would be better as LB, he was dire as RB against Raith and was being mugged by a dire Raith.

Agree with Smithy on our defence just now, would be better with a flat back 3 of Gallagher, Gordon and Neill. Getting 5 in midfield and 2 up front. Need to set the midfield up so we attack and get balls from the wide areas into the box for Buchanan and White though.

Think Sheerin would be better playing for a longer period too, give him 45 mins as he may be a bit overweight but he is strong as feck on the ball and brings in White & Glen. He's an ideal target man for White to play off around the box.

Mullen impressed me in the Clyde games with his strength on the ball against big cluggers but against QoS he was back to being easily pushed off the ball.

Still wince seeing that challenge on Hippo, and still can't believe that didn't get a red card,

It's only the fact QoS deserved the win over the balance of play nobody is making that much of a big deal on it but it did change the game for them to get the 3 points and again the ref has influenced the result in the other teams favour through a bad decision.

I can just imagine the flak Talbot would've got for that, esp against Dumbarton.

Disagree that QoS deserved to win, we were as good as them, which isn't saying much. Also disagree with Spiggle on Glen, he put in a shift and was infinitely more useful than Mullen who just wasn't at the races on Saturday, he is a much better player than that performance so hopefully he's got that out of his system now.
There were a number of very odd decisions by the officials, a QoS player handled it in our box, result? Free kick to QoS outside the box! If it was Dec that handled it then it should have been a pen. Sives clearly pushed a QoS man in the box, result? Play on! The Hippo incident was also a shocking decision

You must be the only Livi fan that thought we were as good as QoS Bertie, they played us off the park in the first half and but for poor finishing would've been out of sight by HT.

2nd half was a lot better from us in that there wasn't much in it, on balance of play though we were lucky to be 0-0 at HT and only 1-0 FT. Still could've sneaked something right enough and had Kidd been sent off who knows what we'd have got, might even have sneaked a lucky win.

We've had plenty games where we dominated play and lost due to not taking our chances so would've gladly taken a smash and grab win from some lucky break.
