    Sack the manager. Wink

I know Buchanan scored 2 but I'd still start White with Sheerin and have Buchanan coming on as sub 2nd half in our next game. Would actually still like to see him play in behind White & Sheerin but todays line up worked a treat so why change it.

Yeah Bertie QoS do match highlights, not sure they'll want to stick them up though. Laughing

Well I was right about who would score first and only 5 mins out on the time.... But I just so love being wrong!!!

Buchanan's first goal sounds like a cracker.... Will there not be footage on the spfl website from the QoS equivalent of LivTV?

Brilliant win coupled with the other results we really couldn't have asked for much more.

Well done lads, keep it up and don't revert to last seasons score a barrow load then don't score for weeks.
They usually get their highlights up pretty quickly.

    Well that was guid!

QoS went and scored as usual against the run of play and I thought here we go again. The rest of the first half we had lots of chances but just couldn't put the ball in the net. I jokingly said they are just waiting till the second half so that the Livi fans can see the goals better.
They surely did the business eventually and you felt if the game had gone on much longer they would have just kept scoring.
The defence dealt well with the few chances Queens made and the big goalie made a couple of finger tip saves. The last ten minutes were a joy to watch in the knowledge that Queens looked beaten and we were going to get 3 points.

After all the crap he has had to take this week in the hysterical main stream media, it was good to hear the group of young fans at the back chant "only one Kieran Gibbons" at the start of the game, I even joined in. Razz

That's what I thought too Orco, I was scared to check our score later on and couldn't believe we were 3-1 up. Actually had to check the bbc website and then go on Sky news before I believed we were winning. Laughing

Can't wait for QoS to put up the highlights, you just can't appreciate results like this when you're a Sevco fan, #notagloryhunter.

Fantastic result and glad I made the trip after the shite I'd been watching throughout the season beforehand. Hopefully this is a wake up call because we have got the potential as was seen today to kick start our season, Burchill has got to be ruthless like he was today and made big calls with regards to the starting XI and dropping Duckrell and Hippolyte completely.

Got to say Jackson Longridge is great player and is so much more effective as a wing back. He covered every blade of grass down that left hand side, very much like Talbot when he first started with Livi. Didn't rate him at the start but he's slowly getting to grips with this level. Also feel sorry for Sheerin as he was getting in the right places just like St Mirren last week but for whatever reason just couldn't finish it off.

We need to beat Raith next week otherwise I'll just sob in a corner, can't handle inconsistent pish anymore.

Aye, just being my usual.... Not getting carried away by a fantastic win in the same way I wasn't getting overly down by the poor results before yesterday.

Livicub is already heaping pressure on by saying we have to be Raith because he can't stand the inconsistency, whereas I expect inconsistency from a young team and the way Raith have been going we can right them off as a team we MUsT beat, keep the pressure off and we might get results and confidence breeding consistency.

It's what you expect when you beat a team yesterday who, man for man, are a better side then the one we're about to play next Saturday. Raith are on the same level as us quality wise but like most seasons, they start off well and capitulate eventually. If you check their recent results, they've just been scraping victories/draws (yes I understand they've at least been scraping for results better than us).

Raith are just a fucking duff team and I can't stand them. If we can't beat a duff team then I have every reason to sob uncontrollably.

I agree LC, like us being in a false position that our play doesn't deserve, I think Raith are also in one and will eventually get found out. Def see this as a great chance to get our first league home win, they're as rank as St Mirren and IF we take our chances we'll beat them comfortably. That was the case against Dumbarton & St Mirren too though so hopefully we have got the gremlin off our backs in front of goal and keep on scoring.

Great result just as Lf and myself predicted if the team went 352 with Sheerin and White up top.

Well done on the manager for making some changes and White making one and scoring one proved he is due a run of starting appearances. Well done on Buchanan scoring two after coming on too.

This changes the scoring % ratio to starts to
White 50% chance of scoring(4 goals in 8 starts)
Buchanan 46% chance of scoring (6 goals in 13 starts)
Sheerin 33% chance of scoring (2 goals in 6 starts)

Great result now onto game v Raith and keep playing 352 which should lead us being able to give a good account of ourselves.

Well done to the management and the team for this result yesterday, well overdue just let's keep it going.

Our twitter feed said White combined with Glen to set up Buchanan's 1st goal too, so he had a hand in 3 of our goals, excellent work from the big man.

Also said he was getting grief from the travelling support, he must wonder what he has to do at times.

Neil, Gallagher & Gordon tend to go 3 at the back allowing the wingbacks to push up field, they did against Sevco anyway. With those 3 playing like that it gave us a pretty solid looking defence as they covered for Millen and Longridge being flanked. We had Neill playing RB a couple of times and he looks a bit shaky so I prefer him alongside the other 2 CB's as a back 3.

Smithy, I just want to point out that LF was shouting for the 2 Jordies and I agreed with him while you were adamant that it should be White & Buchanan, we kept pointing out that the former pairing were playing as a pairing while W & B had struggled to do so.

Given the scorers yesterday, it now seems that they have found a way to play together but I would still go with the two big yins up front to start with Buchanan either coming on as the impact sub like yesterday or playing just behind them

I have long preferred a 352 set up as well because it gives you the 5 in midfield but is easily switched to 442 or 451 although I dislike the latter as for me it leaves us with an isolated striker and no one pushing on to help which is the only way that works as a threat. 352 can also go to 5 at the back if circumstances dictate it.

Having said all that, I'd love to see it all go back to 235; but that will never happen.

So Gary Glen was playing wing-back? Looked a 4-4-2 with the players available with Neill at right-back (for the record, I thought he looked decent there in the short period against St. Mirren).

I still think Buchanan is our best striker but to me, there's merit in playing White and Sheerin early on to batter defences, allowing Buchanan to come on when they are tiring. It's clear Sheerin can't hack 90 minutes yet but he's just so awkward to play against. One thing I've noticed about Jordan White is that he's winning A LOT more in the air this season. Clearly been putting the effort in on the training ground working on it, so fair play to him.

Yep he wins a fair amount of flick ons.

That's exactly why I'd stick with the same line up EL, Buchanan coming on fresh 2nd half will get in behind their defence and hopefully score goals again. Also think White and maybe even Sheerin will score before he comes on. Sheerin gets chances because he can hold off defenders and force his way through on goal, bound to start scoring a few soon.

An excellent Match Report from QOTS website

    Queen Of The South 1
    Hilson - 27

    Livingston 4
    Pitman - 50
    White - 67
    Buchanan - 75
    Buchanan - 85

A terrible second half performance saw Queens turn a one goal advantage into a heavy defeat as bottom placed Livingston came from behind to record a 4-1 victory in what was only their second league win of the season as they strolled to victory in this afternoon`s Championship clash at Palmerston. The defeat was Queens` fourth league loss at home already this season, which means that they have now lost as many at home as they did during the whole of last season, and even at this early stage they are already seven points behind a play-off place.

Following last week`s impressive performance against the league leaders, boss, James Fowler, made just one change to the side that started at Ibrox, as fit again Dale Hilson returned in place of Aidan Smith.

There was also a return to the matchday squad for Iain Russell who featured for the first time in 6 games.

The away side made an impressive start, and Jordan White - who was to be a problem all afternoon - almost gave his side a perfect beginning but he was not quite able to take advantage of some hesitancy in the Queens defence, and as they continued to press forward they had another chance when Glenn`s free-kick was cleared to Neill, but his effort from the edge of the area was charged down.

Queens first meaningful foray forward led to them winning their first corner of the contest as Alex Harris saw his cross blocked. Ryan Conroy`s inswinging corner was met by the head of Derek Lyle, but Livi `keeper, McCallum saved comfortably. The hosts gradually settled into the game and on 14 minutes following a foul on Lyle they created another half chance. Conroy was the man on set-piece duty again, and this time his sweeping delivery caused some uncertainty in the Livi defence which forced McCallum to push the ball away for a corner. The resulting set play saw Scott Hooper decide to try and set up a colleague from his flicked header, but the ball was cleared by Gordon and the chance had gone.

There was little between the sides at this point, although following a slow start, Queens were seeing more of the ball. Alex Harris was looking lively, and it was his run and cross that provided the returning Hilson with a shooting chance, but on the turn and from just 8-yards out he shot straight at the `keeper - a foot either side of McCallum and Queens would have been ahead. Having gone close to opening the scoring, the home side took the lead following their next attack. After receiving the ball in midfield, Kyle Hutton found Jordan Marshall on the left and the young full back showed a tremendous turn of speed to get beyond the Livi defence and deliver a perfect cross that enabled Dale Hilson to sweep the ball past McCallum to net his first league goal of the season.

Queens certainly got a boost from the goal and for the next spell of the game they were in control. Hilson`s movement and ability to hold the ball up was clearly helping the cause, and another foul on him saw the home side win a free-kick some 35 -yards from goal. Although a shot at goal seemed unlikely, Ryan Conroy took aim but his strike ended a couple of yards wide of the target.

The visitors attacks revolved around the link up play of White and Sheerin, and the height of White was proving to be difficult for both Hooper, and Higgins to deal with, and one such tussle between the Livi striker and Hooper ended with the Livingston man becoming the first player to be booked by referee Walsh. The visitors almost got themselves on level terms 10 minutes from the break following a set-piece of their own.

After a foul on the left touchline and with all of their big men forward expecting a cross, Glenn decided to go for goal and his flighted cross to the far post needed to be tipped over by Robbie Thomson. Although they made nothing of the resulting corner, that period of play certainly saw the visitors up their game, and twice before the interval they had two excellent chances to get themselves level. Firstly - and probably the better of the chances - Longridge reached the byeline and picked out a perfect low cross to find Sheerin unmarkedl, but with the goal at his mercy he completely missed his kick and a good chance had gone.Queens replied with a quick breakaway that was only stopped when Gordon fouled Hilson, with the challenge earning the defender a booking. The second of Livingston`s chances came following a slip by Scott Hooper, but the young defender was mightily relieved when Robbie Thomson held on well to White`s shot from just inside the penalty area.

As the half moved into stoppage time, Kyle Jacobs was cautioned for a poor challenge on Pitman, and when sloppy defending by Queens gave the visitors another corner, Sheerin passed up another chance to draw his side level after good play by Glenn created the chance.

Not a great game by any stretch of the imagination, but importantly for Queens, they had the lead at the break.

    HALF-TIME QUEENS 1-0 LIVINGSTON

The fifteen minute break between the halves is usually pretty crucial, and today for whatever reason, it worked superbly for one team, and it went horribly wrong for the other, and for those of a Queens persuasion in the crowd of 1485 unfortunately it went against them as Queens produced one of their worst 45 minutes for some time. In the space of 35 dreadful minutes they conceded 4 goals as the team that began the day in bottom place tore them apart.

After a low key opening to the second period, on 50 minutes, the visitors were level. A free-kick was floated into the Queens penalty area, flicked on by White into the path of Pitman who under no challenge, was able to drill his shot past Thomson from close range. That goal gave the visitors a huge boost, and although Queens created a couple of half chances - most notably a decent effort from Lyle - there was certainly a shift in the pattern of the game as Livi began to pass the ball around to good effect. There was a further blow for Queens on 64 minutes when Hilson went down injured following a challenge and then collision with the advertising boards. Unfortunately for both himself and the team, he was unable to continue and was replaced by Iain Russell.

Just three minutes later, Livingston had completed the turnaround when White was on the end of a move that he started. After taking control of the ball he was able to send Glenn racing clear and after continuing his run, he easily out jumped a static Queens defence to head past Thomson.

Queens made their second change after the goal when Aidan Smith replaced Jake Pickard, who unfortunately was unable to get involved in the game which was a real shame following his impressive performance against Rangers last weekend. The visitors went very close to extending their lead moments later when a header from Neill was blocked on the line before Thomson was able to gather the ball at the second attempt. In a rare attacking move Russell and Smith linked up well, and although Smith picked out Harris with his cross, a poor first touch by the on-loan Hibs player allowed `keeper McCallum to reach the ball ahead of the Queens midfielder.

The writing was firmly on the wall with 15 minutes left as Livingston sealed the win with a third goal, and once again, White was involved in the goal. He and Glenn combined well and the former Hearts player was able to pick out substitute Buchanan who turned the Queens defence inside and out before firing past a stranded Robbie Thomson.

Alex Harris made way for Gary Oliver late on, and with Queens trying to reduce the arrears by pushing forward gaps were left at the back and it was no surprise that Livingston were well in control during the final period of the game. The home sides defending was poor and nobody was exempt from error and when Chris Higgins was woefully short with a back pass to `keeper Thomson, it was only the tightness of the angle that prevented White from adding to the misery. However, there was still one more piece of horror viewing to watch for the disgruntled Queens support when with 5 minutes left to play, Buchanan added his second goal when reacting faster than any Queens defender to nod the ball past the keeper.

A very bad day at the office as far as Queens are concerned when just about anything that could go wrong did, including the injury to the returning Dale Hilson which is to be hoped is nothing serious. Having lost to the team that started the day as the bottom placed side, we travel to Alloa next weekend to take on the team that will start the day as the bottom placed side, let`s hope for a very different outcome.

It was definitely a 3-5-2. Glen would've been playing as a wing back but Queens scored as a result of their winger having the time and space due to Glen not tracking back. Think Burchill raised this at HT as he came out and done a lot more covering.

Highlights of the goals up on QOTS website maybe someone can do a link as I'm not too good at that.

Everyone knows I like White but what a performance from him from the highlights, what an assist for Pittmans goal from his chest, that's a bit of class. His involvement in the second goal and his finish was excellent.

Hopefully our support gets behind the Bigman because all the stupid comments at times , White seems to be picked on quite a lot and according to some reports on Saturday was getting abuse from some of our fans, doesn't do anyone any good. He works his socks off and after reading the Queens report and watching the highlights I can see why the report said White was a problem all day. I've liked and appreciated his effort and performances for ages , hopefully this video proves how valuable he will be for us once again this season.

Buchanan takes his first goal really well and White and Glen links up really well to help in the goal. Gary Glen linked up well with White for the second goal of the day and it was an excellent ball in from wide. Buchanan very alert for his second

Fantastic to watch these goals, fair play to the manager and to some fans like Liviforever who said we would start getting results. Hopefully we continue v Raith.

Well done what a turnaround, feeling positive about Saturday v Raith.

Fantastic to watch these goals, fair play to the manager and to some fans like Liviforever who said we would start getting results. Hopefully we continue v Raith.

Well done what a turnaround, feeling positive about Saturday v Raith.

    Echo Echo.

It's great to see us finally open up and score a few against someone. Hopefully we can push on and get a wee run going.

The only thing I'm now concerned about is the Threadbare look of the squad. For the third game in a row, due to injury and suspension, we've not been able to fill the bench.

I know we have McCallum in on loan. Isn't it worth looking at bringing in a couple more on loan, especially in the wing area.

I'm delighted with our second win of the season and delighted that Big Shagz turned the game around. We can only go onwards and upwards from here.
