There's a topic on Pie and Bovril (I know, I know) talking about Hall of Famers from each club. Would be great to see the club do something to mark 25 years in Livingston by inducting some Hall of Famers. If we did, who would you like to see in?

Our 2004 CIS cup winning team, and others from the European qualifying team, some were in both.

Two and a half years to plan this - surely doable? I think 25 years in the town would be a very fitting way to open such a thing, a player per year given some of the extreme talent we've had here would be a very nice touch IMO. Off the top of my head (and with some reminding from other posters)... Neil Alexander, Brian McPhee, Jim Leishman, David Hay, Keaghan Jacobs, Rubio, Marvin Andrews, Burton O'Brien, Iain Russell, Jason Talbot, David Fernandez, Roddy McKenzie, Lee Makel, Stuart Lovell, Barry Wilson, David Bingham, Javier Sanchez Broto... Anyone else I've missed out that's obvious?

Two glaring ones, Jamie McAllister and Derek Lilley, our goal scoring heroes in the cup final.

I'd also add Brinquin, Dorado, McNamee, Xausa, Tosh and Bollan (player & manager)

Too many there which tends to devalue it. I'd take out Xausa, McNamee, Hay, O'Brien, Russell, Talbot for starters. Also McAllister and Lilley. Scoring goals involves a whole team not just the actual scorers.

No problem including Leishman, Fernandez, Lovell, Wilson and Bingham though. Marv was a legend and Rubio was a bit of a one off so I'd maybe include them. I'd also consider Quino as a special talent and Griffiths as one of the best players to come from our youth teams.

It's all subjective though isn't it.

Lilley was our top goal scorer in the Premier league too, and prob the best goal scorer we've ever had considering he did it at the top level. Also scored the goal in the semi final that got us there, as well as the first goal in the final, def deserves to be in it.

McAllister is the best LB we've ever had at Livi imo, so not just about his brilliant run and goal.

Would say Talbot being the 2nd ? highest capped Livi player should surely be in there no? Suppose Fox has a claim as he's 3rd highest but i'd draw the line at top 2. Laughing

The guy who scored the first goal for Livi at Almondvale.
The guys who scored the goals that won each championship title.
The guy who scored the goal that clinched 3rd place in Premier
    Quino
    Fernandez
    Bingham
    Ke Jacobs
    Wilson
    McKenzie
Rubio (1st Euro goal I believe)
    Lovell
    Andrews
    O'Brien
    Dorado
    Brinquin
    Lilley
    McAllister
    McNamee
    Makel

Cases could be made for Alexander, Douglas, Dorrans, Griffiths & Snodgrass as guys who played for us & went on to become full international Scotland players.

If including managers, Leishman, Hay, Bollan & Hopkin if/when he moves on.

Some of the current team once they move on too (Halkett & Pittman at least)

Tricky one, we've had a lot of cult heroes over the years, and also a lot of great players who've done a lot in a shore space of time.

Agree with the post above that we can't have too much otherwise we de-value it though.

Think everyone with over 150 appearances for the club should be in (there can't be that many).

    - O'Brien - Only player to feature in both Cup wins
    - Keaghan - 10 years (almost consecutive) at the club
    - Big Marv - Part of the team that won Div 1, got into Europe, and won the CIS
    - Alexander - 2 successful stints at the club either side of his career
    - Bingham - Legend in the lower leagues and part of the team who came 3rd in SPL
    - Bollan - Stand-out in the team that took us to Europe, then as a manager took us to consecutive league wins
    - Lovell - Captained the team to 3rd in the SPL, played in Europe, captain for the CIS cup win
    - Graham Harvey - One of my first favourite players at the club, and a stalwart in the success of Div 2/1 Titles
    - Dave McKay - Over 150 appearances during his time at the club - solid defender and captain during his time at the club.
    - Fernandez - Greatest ever player IMO, part of the famous team of 2001 and also the Cup winning team.
    - Broto - Greatest ever keeper, also part of both famous squads.

Other players like Quino, Xausa, Brinquin etc were outstanding, but not sure whether they were at the club long enough to go in HOF.

Would be good to see the club doing something to mark it though!

Quino - scored 1st premier league goal if I remember correctly & was the best player at the club at that time. Not as explosive as Fernandez but he was our Iniesta....(can I dub him Miniesta?) he made it all tick. IMO he has to be in.

Broto didn't win the cup with us Roddy did & was top appearance holder at one point. Broto only played 47 games for us & was outstanding in that time. Both should be in.

Xausa was never as good for us as he was for Caley, so I don't think he did enough to get in.

Technically the entire squads for finishing 3rd, playing in Europe & winning the League Cup could be entered en masse but that would mean guys like Colin McMenamin getting in & that would definitely devalue it.

Wow.So many names to numerous to to mention but i would certainly doff my cap to all of those mentioned and indeed to most of the players who donned the black and gold West Lothian. As i said too many to mention god we would be here all night but personally id like to stick in a few players from the early days namely Graham Davidson,Jason Young,Mark Duthie and Big Wullie Callaghan to name but a few who helped in no little measure to lay the foundations of our current guise as Livingston Football Club all those years ago.Ah great days indeed with of course the obligatory apologies to our younger support.Look forward to telling you more about these legends in years to come.LOL.T.

Paul Deas should get a special award for the best ever goal scored at Almondvale, might've got longer with every year that has past but it seemed just inside the opposition half and never lifted more than 2 feet off the ground as it travelled like an exocet missile past all the players and into the net. George Albertz (the hammer) pah, had nothing on the power Deas hit that ball with that day.

I know Lovell's overhead kick into the top corner against Sevco is up there too but from distance and power the Deas one was something to behold.

Actually being really pedantic but Lovell's goal was against Glasgow Rangers about ten years before they went out of business.

Also if we're going on goals then surely Jimmy Scott's goal against Alloa could be worth a mention although he did very little else in a Livi shirt.

I said he was going to score in the exact corner he put it in as he stood waiting to take it, so I'm claiming the credit on that one LOL

Barry Wilson's against Rangers to equalise in the same game as Lovell's o/head.

David Bingham against Partick I think, keeper punted it long, Bingham ran on to it, it bounced once & he leathered it into the top corner. The epitome of direct football but I prefer to think of it as one touch football, one touch from the keeper followed by one touch from Bingham - goal.

Most audacious attempt at a goal? Barry Wilson's tremendous shot near the end of the first half against Sturm Graz that looked like it was rocketing into the top corner & somehow the Graz keeper got his fingers to it & tipped it away for a corner.

Bingham's goal was from a Broto kick, Broto had the best kick of a ball from a goalkeeper I've ever seen anywhere in football. He kicked it sideways across himself so it didn't lift that far off the ground and went like a rocket straight to our player. Very low, direct and had precision accuracy for a quick counter attack.

I think players to go into a Hall of Fame would have needed to contribute a fair bit to the club.

Keags - all time record appearances for Livi
Stuart Lovell - captained the cup winning squad
Beanie - top goal scorer (although this is subject to change every year possibly)

Even sticking Jim Leishman for his success in our dominant years.

I wouldn’t overload it as it becomes less meaningful.

I liked Broto's kicking as well but I'm not convinced it was him in goal that day. The punt I remember was more of a typical Brit keeper kick. You might be right* tho as I remember being in the south stand so it would have been second or third season SPL.

*You are indeed correct, I found the bbc match report. By jings Eugene Dadi opened the scoring that day!!
