Scotland v Israel Empty Scotland v Israel

What a game… it was Scotland in a nutshell except we got a good ending for once.

As they lined up the free kick I said “this is going in” - I believe Gordon’s starting position is too far to his left. The free kick is excellent but it wasn’t in the corner & that makes it saveable if Gordon is a step to his right, in other words slightly more central.

Terrific equaliser then a typically stupid foul and I feared the worst as they lined up the free kick, Gordon makes a decent save but IMO the fact he had to save a handball means the goal should have been chalked off.

I also said Marciano would save the pen, hate being right about such things.

Much better second half. Excellent 2nd equaliser and ridiculous that the Israeli wasn’t booked for simulation. Also ridiculous that it took so long for VAR to get it right.

I don’t like McTominay as a player but his movement for the winner was excellent. Touches the defender then drops off & ghosts in round the back, very clever play by the lad, so kudos to him for that.

Now just the small matter of two away wins against the minnows to secure 2nd… if anyone can botch it, it’s us. Here’s hoping we get it right.

Yeh,thoughrally enjoyed that last night Bertie.Got to get our defence sorted out.I,l forgive big Lyndon for his pen miss as I thought overall he had a belting game.Gilmour and Mcginn were magnificent and was so good to see the team battling all the way to the end and getting their reward.Just need to concentrate on beating the so called minnows of the group then Moldova and we are almost there.Theve givin us hope before and blew it.Somehow I feel this will be different with this team. Its in our hands.👍🏴????????????????????????.

Missed the final 20 mins and didn't catch the highlights, so had to avoid seeing the final score till iplayer stuck it up to watch, which they only just did. So all i knew it was 2-2 with 20 mins to go. Glad i hadn't known we got the winner, was brilliant watching that goal going in for the winner.

Think all Livi fans had a bad feeling about Dykes taking the pen, big fella was hopeless at them with us, or he could've scored 20 goals the season we sold him, might've got us another million on his price too, instead wee Lawless stuck 7 away.

Anyway, made up for it with his goal for our 2nd, gets a hell of a lot of unfair slagging not being good enough for Scotland, but he keeps on scoring important goals for us, and always gives his all.

Now just don't feck it up Scotland.

Dykes is the first player since Mo Johnstone to score in three successive WC qualifiers & has now scored more goals in less appearances than a certain Leigh Griffiths.
