Is it too soon for the anticipation and excitement to build up for an upset?

Which Celtic will turn up, the one that gubbed Dundee 7-1, or got beat by Hearts 2-0, and will Livi start with Nouble up front, or maybe last Saturday's goal scorer Shinnie, or a big target man with Guthrie, heading it onto Celtic players with nobody up there supporting him, or will Martindale throw in a curve ball that no one (but me) saw coming, starting Anderson & Yengi up front, for the answer to this and many more questions, tune in to our Scottish Cup Quarter Final on Sunday.

Yengi up top on his own, no supporting runners, everyone behind the ball, 15% possession if we’re lucky.
    3-0 defeat.

It’s the cup… throw caution to the wind and just go for it, we’re probably going out regardless of how we play so go out in style with a roar rather than a whimper.

Aye 2 big money spinners from both cups playing the cheeks away from home, but all the in fighting between share holders is screwing us. Always never far away from a crisis at Livi, should be rolling in it.

I get what you're saying Nick but you need a certain amount of discipline playing defensively against the erse cheeks, Hearts got gubbed 5-0 at Ibrox and Dundee 7-1 at Parkheid. Would be easy to see ourselves 3 or 4 goals down in the first half and the tie as good as over. Sitting in completely with zero shots at goal is equally not good enough though, we need to have some form of attack, press them like buggery in our own half and hit them on the counter. Having Yengi or even Nouble* up front for an out ball, both are good at holding onto the ball till players get up the pitch.

*i know Nouble doesn't inspire confidence just now, but he's done it before against them, and you're hoping the occassion is big enough for him to give his all for a change.

They didn't like Motherwell pressing them a few weeks ago. I'd say that's the way to go. Back to the style of the Livi team that got us up to the premier league.

Motherwell are better than us though, as their 2nd half showing proved. Same with Killie and Hearts, all 3 teams have taken pts from the erse cheeks, Killie esp has done brilliantly against both of them this season.

Past Livi teams would absolutely beat the cheeks this season, the ones that could both press in midfield, and defend well. Just now though we're so soft defending crosses into our box, it's easy to score against us. Celtic usually try to play passes on the ground though, and play through you, maybe that'll give us a bit of a chance.

Probably not cos we don’t tackle either.

Annoyingly, Aberdeen are cruising past Killie. You’d think Aberdeen were having a decent season and Killie weren’t the way it’s playing out.

We're feeling so confident we've decided to give Celtic 2 goals of a start.

It's a competitions to see who has the worst defence, and we're winning. 2-1 Celtic now.

Well we gave it a go and might even have taken the lead when Ayo hit the post early on. Even after seeing the VAR stills I see Maeda closer to goal than any of our guys and the lines drawn were horrendous as usual but they get the goal and you think that’s it all over already but we actually took the game to them for a short spell and Mackay scores a cracker to level it up. Montano had a mare of a first half and his calamitous attempts to make an easy clearance leads to their second and were again thinking it’s over. Second half and Yengi pops in another beauty and it’s game on. Nottingham nearly puts us ahead and we seemed to be hanging in there looking like possible extra time but our inability to see out games afflicts us again. 2-2 arguably was a fair reflection of the game but a case could be made for them edging it 3-2 but 4-2 flattered them.

If we can play that well in the remaining league games and take our chances in those games we will have a chance of a miracle.

Actually did better than I had anticipated.Once again horrendous defending has cost us again. And VAR can do one after more contencious decisions.Would agree,Yengi could prove to be a diamond in the rough.Expected nothing from this, but fair play to the lads.Gave it a good go and on another day could have done something special.👏.We move on to the run in.

    |Got to laugh at Celtic complaining that their 2 best players were injured, and some eejit doing the punditry on the bbc website coming away with Livingston wont have a better chance of beating them. Aye never mind we had another makeshift defence in there and some players starting their first game since returning from injuries. Oh and the fact Celtic having the biggest budget in the league that fecking dwarfs ours, fecking moronic twaddle.

Anyway, good seeing us coming back twice and scoring 2 goals at Parkheid, our defence is still crap, but it isn't anywhere near our best defence and we've never had a settled defence all season. If we could get that sorted with new signing (and them staying injury free) we'd have a decent looking team. Yengi and MacKay are cracking players, Brandon did brilliantly playing in midfield, which again was a bit makeshift with Holt and Pitts being out.

My one complaint is why the feck Martindale keeps shifting Yengi onto the wing and bringing Guthrie on to play in his position. He did it against St Johnstone and it cost us, and arguably it cost us the 3rd goal today too, after moving one of our best players to a position he's nowhere near as effective at. If he'd keep Yengi up front all game i think we'd get a few results and give ourselves a chance still.

I'd love it if we played MacKay-Yengi-Anderson in a front 3, or a 2-1 and dump Nouble, but Anderson just can't get a look in.

Was good seeing Hibs having 2 red cards and Boyle going off injured, with us playing them next weekend, however County play them midweek before us, and we can't afford them getting 3pts. Hopefully Hibs can muster up enough to beat them, then fall to pieces against us.
