Is it too early for a must win game?Suspect lol!

Really need to win this and get the fans back on board, Pars were dreadful in the group games, losing 3 of their 4 matches, but we weren't scoring enough goals and need to start banging 2 or 3 in on Saturday, a 1-0 is going to be too nervy, not even contemplating going a goal behind.

Mon the Livi, lets start the league campaign with a win. bounce cheers

I would expect Dunfermline to be better than they were in the cup game which was as comfortable a 1-0 win as you could hope for. I would also hope that our lot will feel they have a point to prove and actually go for it. So let’s get in about them and put them to the sword.

If Chris Kane plays we will need a strong ref. The man has diving down to a fine art. But they will maybe not risk him on our deadly artificial pitch after him having been out through injury.

Muirhead wont be playing, he's suspended after having a tantrum playing for Morton in their final league game, and getting sent off. Wonder if Winter will get a start, he's looked promising in sub appearances, better goal threat than Yengi (gone Yengi score a hattrick now).

If we are to believe the comments on Social media from Pars fans it seems the Lions have this in the bag. They must think we're nieve enough to get sucked into their collective presumtions. As has been said this will be completely different from the cup tie previously. Hopefully we can get off to a flier to the campaign. We're at home and should be reasonably confident of a favourable outcome tomorrow. My heart is saying home win,but like Livi Kev my head is erring to a share of the spoils. Will be good to catch up with big Leish at the open day.Looking forward to that.Anyway, have a go Livi and just do it.👊🦁⬆.

Here's a wee stat for you. In the last 11 years Livi have only won their first game of the season once and that was v Stranraer in season 16/17 in League 1 when we beat them 5-1.
More often than not we draw on get beat in our first game so I'm not expecting much tomorrow. I'd love a win but I think I'd settle for a point right now.

So in the last 8 years we've won our league opener once, but 6 of those years was spent in the Premiership and we had the erse cheeks 3 times in our opening games, Aberdeen H, Rangers H, Rangers A, St Mirren A, Motherwell H, Celtic A.

If ever their was a time to get a win in our opening game it's against a shite Dunfermline.

Joint top of the table with Ayr, on a +2 GD. cheers

A game of two halves, first half we were awful, Dunfermline looking the better team.

Second half we came out with much more attacking intent and took the lead through Pittman the hitman. Kelly got a deserved 2nd for us, had a good free kick on target saved, and a couple of good volleys at goal, before finally scoring. Lawal coming on was a breath of fresh air too, wee man was everywhere buzzing around and getting on the ball, nice lay off for Yengi to have a shot at goal too.

Thought we'd already played the 2 mins added time when they got their pen, so glad they missed it, to keep our clean sheet. Nice to get off to a winning start, looking forward to the QP game now, mon the Lions. bounce cheers

First half was probably our worst 45 mins so far but we did come into it as the half dragged on, resulting a couple of opportunities, second half we started better and scored early with a lot of good play involved in keeping the ball in play ending with an excellent swivel and shot by Pitts. Then we were content to hit them on the break and could have had 3 or 4 more goals but had to settle for one. Yengi chasing back but not really helping as the ball then ran to McGowan whose first time pass to Smith was excellent. Smith possibly should have gotten across the defender more but that may actually have ended the move with a free kick, so by not doing so the defender managed to prevent him getting a shot away but he had the presence of mind to control the ball and set up Kelly. 2-0 and cruising. As I said we should have had more, if Yengi could finish as easily as he was beating his opposing defender it could have been a few more. He is so much better with the ball at his feet attacking a defender than trying to plough the lone striker furrow with his back to goal. Easily his best game of the season so far.

Didn’t watch much of the Falkirk/QP game but what I saw didn’t over concern me other than both teams moved the ball quickly.

Well I had it as a stale draw - 1st 45 looked that way - really poor from both sides.
    Happy I got it wrong.
Still not sure what our tactics/set up is trying to do - other than punt the ball to Yengi , who as often as not has no support.
Points in the bag , clean sheet and moral booster , lets hope the momentum carries through to the next game

Yeh,I had suggested a draw pre match as well.Thoughrally enjoyed yesterday.Felt it took us a while to get going, but there was only going to be one winner here.Wish Yengi would take one of the chances presented to him,if only to give him a boost, albeit he was isolated up front on his own so many times.Think enough has been said about the young team, suffice to say the smoke waffting through the stand gave me the boak, absolutely stinking💩.Highlight of the day, meeting Big Leish before the game.Hes looking well and took time to talk to as many fans as he could.Wont get carried away, but was a lot happier leaving the stadium than previously. So well done the Lions.Lets keep it going. 👏🦁⬆.

It's clear to see so why do we keep doing it, Yengi playing with his back to goal and getting punts up the pitch to him is no good. Yengi getting balls to feet with room to turn and face goal is a handful, and he runs riot. 2nd half when we turned over possession and ran at them we looked like we could score every time we had an attack. We also need either Lawal or Green to be starting games, both can fill the gap between defence and attack to work it through midfield, and get us on the front foot.
