Reasons why we are going down Empty Reasons why we are going down

Post by Auld Nick Sat Mar 07, 2015 5:20 pm

    1. Results like today - Cowdenbeath 0 Rangers 0 - & there have been others like it this season but we have yet to pick up a point off the top 3
    2. Failure to beat the teams at our end of the table more than once (so far)
    3. Inability to take chances in most games - scoring 14 in 3 league games & only 11 in the other 23
    4. Inability to keep clean sheets - only 3 in the league all season

    Feel free to add more...

Shocked I was hoping for more of an explanation of our lack of ability rather than a simple evaluation of our lack of ability. scratch

    Ok.

    We're going down cause:

    We can't keep clean sheets.

    Score goals.

    Win games.

Are siting bottom of the table.

Haven't won at home since Sept.

Have only won 4 league games out of 26.

Can't even beat PT shite like Cowdenbeath or Alloa to get off the bottom of the table.

Have no bottle to scrap for league survival.

The other teams down the bottom are picking up the odd point and widening the gap on us.

The board don't give a monkeys as they're all looking to bale as soon as, and the manager isn't experienced enough.

There are no leaders on the pitch to stir up the rest of the players and put in some fight.

I prefer the short version though, we're just shite.

The month of November losing to all PT teams.
Failing to rotate the squad when required.
    Declan Gallagher's injury.
Not bringing in a RB to cover for the injury of Donaldson and relying on Fordyce.
A lack of a tactical set up by McGlynn/Burchill.

A major reason we are going down

Some dreadful goalkeeping in lots of games which has cost us too many points, starting against Hibs on the first day of the season and yesterday once again by parrying a shot which should have been held.

Only two instances but four points lost.

The young guy Grant should have been given a chance but he was allowed to leave.

The Hibs one was a freak goal that I doubt will happen to him again. On the whole I'd say DJ is doing ok, he's made some incredible saves to balance out the ones he's not done so well at. We've had worse keepers anyway, Bullock had some howlers coming out his box and McNeil was extremely dodgy at times.

Even McKenzie couldn't kick worth a monkeys, he constantly put it out of play from a bye kick, the advertising board about half way up the pitch over by the East stand was his favourite target.

Dunno, he constantly wanders too far off his line when we are up in the opposition box & he nearly got caught out with another keeper clearance at the Vale earlier this season.

we will just have to agree to differ on this one LF but as you know I'm a bit of a statto and Im sure if I took the time to go through all the Livi Tv coverage of goals lost then we would be talking a lot of points lost by the keepers blunders.

I don't think any of Alloa's goals could be put on DJ, our defending was piss poor. Dycey got turned and left for dead by Buchanan as the ball came into our box for the first one and the 2nd he managed to make a block but Buchanan got onto the rebound. Both came from our LB position down that wing and balls into our box that had defenders supposedly marking players. Why was nobody on Buchanan for both goals when he's one of the top scorers in the league, poor stuff.

I'm making a better job of it than our defenders on Saturday anyway, how can you put the blame on DJ for not making a point blank save when the defence were nowhere near Buchanan to stop him, unreal!

Cowden are currently beating Dumbarton 3-0, sounding the death knell on Livi's Championship hopes.

That's us paying the price for not beating Dumbarton and Alloa.

I'd given up on us reaching 8th tbh, was just hoping we'd get 9th to have a play off chance but both Alloa and Cowden are picking up the odd win and we aren't.

Well we are back to this 6 point deficit.

Win v Falkirk and Cowdenbeath and we have drawn level with Alloa.

So if Alloa Cowdenbeath and ourselves don't win anymore games we go into the last day of the season needing to beat Queens to get a possible 8th spot if Alloa beat Cowdenbeath.

It's all ifs and buts really so a win in the Petrofac could set us up for the run in but it's going to be tough.

What an end to the season it could be though.
