Much as I would love to see it, I just think that one of the big guns will claw their way to the top....but as you all know I'm always a bit of a "glass half empty" kinda guy.

Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Leicester City continue to ride high at the top of the EPL; they are currently dismantling Man City at the Etihad; will they be able to keep it going to become the unlikeliest of EPL champions?

Imagine Aberdeen and Leicester winning the league, and the odds you'd have got on that at the start of the season.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Been thinking and saying this for a wee while but everyone kept saying it could never happen.
Big test now though is all the headlines will be about Leicester being favourites to win the title, how will they handle that pressure, will their players have the mental strength to keep going and not let the title talk affect them on the pitch?
Hopefully they'll keep it going, they certainly have the players to do it, top goal scorer in Vardy and some great players in Kante and Mahrez.
Spurs are sneaking under the radar here, nobody is even noticing they're 2nd after today, and only 5 points behind Leicester. They've got the likes of Kane, Lamela and Alli. Advantage Leicester have is being out all other competitions, that could affect Spurs.
Can't see Aberdeen doing it though, they bottled it already when they had the chance to go clear of Celtic, doubt they've the consistency to get enough points against the other teams in the league and Celtic will grind out enough results to see them through. Would be fantastic if they prove me wrong though.
Some punter stands to win 25K for a £5 bet on Leicester winning the league, bookies offered him 3 and a half K to cash it in earlier in the week, hope he's still kept his bet.
Next week will be huge for the top 4 teams;
Arsenal v Leicester
Man City v Spurs
If Leicester and Spurs both win it will really set the the foxes ( ) in amongst the hens, and open up a big gap on the chasing pack.

Good day for Spurs and Arsenal, but Leicester are still top of the league. If Leicester don't do it I hope Spurs win the league, either of those two would do for me.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Yeah, that would be my choice as well... I'd probably prefer Arsenal over City if it became between those two but only because it's been longer since they won it.
There are a lot of interesting games still to come and they all still have pretty much the same teams to play, it could come down to the timing of the matches.

Yeah I like Arsenal too but in order of a diddy team perspective Leicester then Spurs is my preference, as a fellow diddy team supporter I like to go for the underdog.

Aberdeen are like us, get within touching distance and then blow it and fall away again.

Aye, pity because a Foxes/Sheep double would liven things up a bit.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
I read somewhere that someone had put a £5 bet down at the beginning of the year on them winning the league
I believe the bookie has offered to buy back the bet for £3200 however if he leaves it and they do actually win the league he will receive £25,000
At the moment the odds are 5/2 so, on paper at least, it looks a fairly poor offer.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Good weekend for Leicester and Spurs.
Aye D some win for a fiver bet, hope it comes off for him. Some punter won a few quid the other week too when he had Leicester to beat Man City 3-1 and Huth to score the first goal.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
I think you'll find the play 38 games so have at 10 left & Man City have 11.
Given Leicester could only draw last night the results tonight are outstanding for them.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
My bad, maths failed me. Man City will still be 4th if they win their game in hand, obviously still a lot of football to be played, going to be really disappointing if City do end up winning it.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Yep, feared Leicester were going to have their lead closed but all the others lost tonight so a draw was a good result for them.
Man Utd on a winning streak too and have drawn level on points with City, unreal. Thought Utd were well out of a top 4 finish too.

Went well again for Leicester with them getting a win and Arsenal v Spurs finishing a draw. 5 points clear at the top.

Leicester lead the Prem by 5 points while Aberdeen have closed the gap between them and Celtic to just the one point, hopefully they keep up that kind of form.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
Aberdeen now 4 points behind, Celtic to play their game in hand on Tuesday so will most likely go 7 points clear. With 6 games left after that it doesn't look likely for the Dons.
Leicester on the other hand are on the other end of the same situation, just gone 7 points clear with 6 games to go.

Still possible for Spurs to nick it, Leicester looked very nervous today and it will get more nerve jangling over the next few games. They defended like bears today tho and got the rub of the green with the pen decisions going their way, I've seen them given for less (and not given for more - yesterday for example). I hope they hold on.

Yep def more solid in defence these days, that's 4 or 5 1-0 wins in a row, looking good to see this through.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
They are winning ugly at the minute and can afford to lose twice now, but they are looking nervous and defending so deep that I think they could lose goals or give away pens, I was convinced Saints were going to get one or the other yesterday but they defended superbly in the box an young Schmeichel was calmness personified.

Re: Will Leicester Defy The Odds
I doubt the chasing teams will win every game though as all season they've been dropping points, Leicester have been the most consistent and can't see that changing. Spurs just dropped 2 points, Arsenal will too, and City are now more in danger of being caught by either West Ham or Man Utd rather than catching Leicester.
Notice Arsenal's next game is against West Ham and Spurs are playing Man Utd too, that should be interesting, tough games for them.
