“I understand that everything was flat against Albion Rovers with what happened on the Friday with the IRN-BRU Cup, but it’s a massive game on Saturday and we need the fans to get behind us.

It is the old chicken and egg scenario with fans and players, which one lifts the other, fans lift the players and vice versa, sometimes you need the players to be the ones to start it off though. It felt strange against Rovers and I think that was down to the Crusaders debacle over Lithgow. Normally the fans try and lift the players, esp at away games, but nothing really went right on Saturday and even when we scored nobody could be arsed getting up on their feet to get excited about it and gee the players on to try and get a draw, just felt it was a lost cause and the penalty was an undeserved consolation goal.

Anyway, hopefully that is behind us and everyone (players and fans) is right up for the Alloa game, and Rafa's signing has given us an extra lift too.

Mon the Lions, lets give those wasps a mauling. cheers

Wouldn't blame the players sometimes when we play at home. The attitude of some of our fans is pure greed. To be fair, these are the fans who have watched the club from the early days or SPL days but they are the worst. Although the team and the club itself has declined, their attitudes and expectations haven't. Most have accepted where we are in Scottish football but I just can tell that some expect us to still finish somewhere in the Premier League come the end of the season.

Greed? Not sure you have chosen the right word there. It's not greedy to want your team to be successful. Unrealistic, demanding, idiots, all of these are more accurate words to describe some of them.

I want us to win the league as much as anyone, and may be a bit deluded to think that we will, but i'm realistic enough to know it will be tough and am pretty happy with how we're doing so far.

It was frustrating on Saturday because we just didn't get a goal early enough and the longer the game went on the flatter it got, both in the stands and on the pitch, really needed the players to score in the first half to lift everyone and make a game of it. I really do think the SPFL hearing put a dampener on us going into that game and affected the players and the fans.

Should be right up for this game though and it should be out of our system now too.

You're probably right BB but some of those who sit around me, you'd think a day hadn't gone past since May 2002. They expect players of this level to produce something that they seen Fernandez or Quino do 14 years ago. Madness.

One of my favourites is "Get it up the park" quickly followed by "Don't just hoof it"

I find it funny as well when a player is about 30 yards and people start shouting "Shoot" or "Hit it", but hurl abuse if anyone does actually try a shot from that far out.

We've been up 4 or 5 goals and folk still shout get it up the pitch and show their discontent when we're passing it about at the back keeping possession. Football fans are are mental. Laughing

Best one I heard last season was when big Shags scored a goal and a fan who just didn't rate him said 'aye but he almost missed it', that was a classic. lol!
