Alloa are just the best from the rest of a pretty poor league. I know they had good start beating teams in the Premier League and Championship in the League Cup but that was Jack Ross' team. Goodwin has finally got them into form but man for man, a team like Ayr, Raith and even Dumbarton can beat them over two legs.

Wonder if they said the same last season when we were the Championship play off team.

As a team, we were a lot poorer than the ones getting mentioned for this season. We had talented players but they had a manager who didn't know what his best team was to get through those games and our defence was horrific. None of the Championship teams will concede eight goals over the course of four games, nevermind two like us.

Wouldn't be so sure of that after St Mirren's pumping of Ayr. If the latter finish 9th they could lose a few goals in the play offs, that said I fully expect them to avoid the play offs...but not in a good way for them.

TBH apart from Hibs, Morton and Falkirk i'd fancy Alloa to give any of the other Championship teams a game, none look that great they'd have to fear them. Don't think Dumbarton or St Mirren will be in the bottom 2 though, St Mirren looks the best out of the bottom 4 just now and Dumbarton are jammy bassas and always get enough points to stay out of the bottom 2, buggers are like cockroaches in a nuclear explosion, you just can't get rid of them.

If we had this season's team last year there's no way we would have been relegated.

We wouldn't have lost to Stranraer anyway, but yeah I agree with you there.
Reckon we'd only need 3 or 4 players added to this squad for next season and we'd have a chance at competing for 4th place in the play offs. A decent keeper, RB, striker and a speedy winger and we'd be sorted. Def need to get Halkett and Buchanan on extended contracts too, and try to persuade Dec to stay for another season, but from what I read he was wanting away out of Scotland, you never know though he could've changed his mind.

I agree with that. Dec might want to go South but it may depend on whether someone wants to take a punt on him. Having said that Wrexham gave White a chance

With respect to White, who I rated massively both on and off the pitch here, Gallagher has a lot more pedigree, and his previous conviction won't stand in his way, I'd imagine. Plymouth signed Luke McCormick and Lee Hughes has floated around the English lower leagues; both them caused deaths and still had careers.

Wasn't thinking of his conviction so much as his career has essentially been lower league in Scotland.

Regardless, he's still a young player, and it's widely accepted that he'd have been a Premier League player with Dundee if he hadn't made a major error in his personal life.
After seeing some of the dross that kicks around League 1/2 in England, I'd be astounded if Gallagher didn't make the step up very soon.

Re: Brechin City vs Livingston
Not disagreeing with you & if his agent is any good he'll get him the move... I guess I'm just hoping we can persuade him to stay a bit longer & maybe reestablish himself as one of the best defenders in the second tier.
BTW - highlights are now up on Brechin web site. You'd be forgiven for thinking we scored against the run of play twice. Good goals from Buchanan; first showing his predatory instinct and the second showing he can rattle them in with power as well.

Re: Brechin City vs Livingston
Aye slightly edited to favour Brechin, with waves of attack coming at us and just showing Livi knocking some set pieces into their box. I liked the slightly damp caption though.
Cacking 2nd goal by Buchanan, powerful hit from an angle straight into the roof of the net.
Interesting that Dods would like to play us on a hard pitch on a sunny day, which would actually really suit Livi's style of play and we'd prob gub them by even more goals.

I hope you meant cRacking goal LF
Aye, the damp caption was hilarious.
Dodds was honest enough in his assessment of how we have owned them but I agree, playing us on a decent pitch in decent weather would suit us more than them.
