Surprised no one has heard this, but i heard on Radio Forth this morning that Dale Carrick has agreed to join Hearts as a youth team coach before the end of the season after Cowdenbeath.Such a pity as i feel that with a possible shortage of strikers come the end of the season what with the uncertainty of Buchs position and big Toderov going back to Tynecastle i feel he still had it in him to do a job for us in the championship should we get there. We will need to strenghthen for next season should we prevail otherwise it could be a long hard season ahead as oppsed to this one.Whats your thoughts guys and lassies?.

Don't think he has left Livi, looks like this is as well as him playing and he is just doing the Hearts youth team coaching to relieve the boredom from his down time and give himself another string to his bow once he stops playing football. http://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2017/03/28/former-hearts-striker-dale-carrick-enjoying-helping-old-club-learning-ropes-youth-coach/

I see Toderov is out of contract with Hearts at the end of the season.

I'd sign him up. He's always getting in on goal and is awkward for defenders to handle. Could do with finishing better but maybe/hopefully with more games his finishing would improve.

Sorry to go off topic but Orco started it with mentioning Todorov Laughing , I see Jordan White has been put into defence the same as Todorov was at Cowden, and is now playing CB for Wrexham.

Back on topic, I think both Carrick and Todorov would do well in the Championship, Carrick gets into great poaching positions around the 6 yard box and Todorov bursts through defences to get in on goal, along with Mullen and hopefully Buchanan too, we'd have plenty of options to choose from that would get us goals.

Disappointing if Carrick went. He looked like he was getting some form behind him, and I think he was unfortunate to be punted out to Cowdenbeath. Perhaps he's viewing his latest move as a sign he's not cut out to be a pro? I have to applaud his attitude though, getting involved in coaching so early in his career is a fairly rare move for most players and he's clearly thinking long-term. I'd be happy for him to stay and combine playing here with coaching, but I don't think he's rated by DH too much.

I wouldn't rule out Todorov but I'd be disappointed if we couldn't find better over the summer window. I think with Buchanan we'll have a very good striker to come off the bench, meaning we're needing a quality player to come in to partner Mullen. I don't think Todorov is that player unfortunately, and although he's been scoring some of his general play from what I've seen suggests to me that the Championship is a level too high for him. I have an inkling though that he'll sign, provided he's out of contract.

I'd have preferred us to have kept Carrick and not bothered with Todorov, despite his goals I have still to see the benefit of playing him. OK he's a big lad and doesn't get pushed around but he's not particularly quick and has missed far easier chances than one or two of his goals. He doesn't play a lone striker role and isn't that good at holding the play up. Carrick on the other hand was the proverbial pest, always on the move and keeping the opposition defence moving too.

We definitely are going to need better quality up front next season than Todorov offers.

Totally disagree with you Bertie. I think he offers us something we didn't have with Mullen, Buchanan and Carrick, a big physical striker. His sub appearance against Airdrie got us 2 goals, he played a superb long diagonal pass to Mullen from the half way line and held the ball up long enough to play in Rafa who ran on to cross the ball from the bye line onto Cadden for our 4th goal.

His strength showed in that game too, bursting through 3 Airdrie players to get in on goal, same against Brechin when he came on, gave us a physical presence against a very physical team and out muscled a couple of their players to get through on goal. Against Airdrie last Saturday he burst through on goal twice to have 2 one on ones, fair enough he didn't score but like I said in my earlier post, he certainly gets in on goal and defenders struggle to cope with him.
In the Stenny game he was a handful for them too and when Hopkin took him off we started to struggle up front, that for me was a major mistake in that game.

Actually think he plays best on plastic pitches, his two best performances were against Alloa and Airdrie away, had some sweet touches on both plastic pitches. I'd be more than happy to see us sign him for next season, and rumour is we're getting a plastic pitch.

Still not sure about him. He's a big lump, quite clumsy but still gets in to decent positions. Good thing he's got a header on him.

Would rather have Carrick, but at least with Todorov it makes Hopkin's hoofball tactics look alright.

LF I have told you before, you can be wrong if you want.

He is a physical presence and granted I didn't see him at Airdrie or Alloa but in the games I have seen he has not lived up to your hype. His first touch is terrible, his passing is poor, his hold up play is hopeless, his mobility is minimal. He is big and gives defenders another thing to think about that the wee forwards don't, he is also young and with good coaching could develop, but a decent defender would handle him with ease.

Interesting that he scored the goal that beat Stenhousemuir but was dropped to the bench against Airdrie and we bagged 4 goals.

As can you Bertie, although you'll never admit it. lol!

His hold up play was good against Airdrie in both home and away games, and again at home against Stenny. Like I said on Airdrie's plastic pitch he made the pass of the season to set up Mullen for his goal, on a good pitch he'd be a good player to have and if we're getting a plastic pitch then he's going to be a good signing.
Really don't agree with this clumsy tag he gets from our fans, against Alloa him and Buchanan made neat 1-2's through a tight defence, so he has nimble feet and good touches, maybe you've only seen him play on our pitch though, where those kind of passing plays between players aren't going to be on show.

Yeah I did mention those in my original post. He missed one of those against Brechin, and Airdrie away too, so needs to work on his finishing, although tbf I've seen Buchanan and Mullen miss a few too, so maybe just needs more game time to come good in front of goal. A plus for me is that he gets into those positions, and is a handful for defenders. I don't believe 'good defenders' would handle him easily, not in the Championship anyway, maybe at Premiership level but we wont be playing there.

Carrick scores the winner as Cowden move to within a point of second bottom Clyde. Sounds like he's been the standout player in the side, tbh.

Mixed feeling here, want Carrick to do well but Cowden are a team that deserve to drop out of the SPFL, worst ground I've even been to and their chairman is a horrible aunt.

Naw - Clyde certainly deserve to go down at the very least for allowing that scum Goodwillie a place in their first team.

C'mon now D... Alleged Scum. He wasn't found guilty in a court of law, only in a civil suit. He still denies it, he could be Scotland's Ched Evans and get completely exhonerated.

He's been found guilty of several cases of assaults and other alcohol related crimes and he was found guilty in court of law. As far as I am aware these were all resolved by a menial fine; suspended sentence or community service. By many accounts he's always been a fairly nasty piece of work.

In the case with Ms. Clair he was "ruled" to be a rapist.
