Tricky one, we usually win playing them away from home and vice versa, but in our last two games it has been the other way around, we got played off the park at theirs and we humped them 4-1 going on 8 at ours. In our favour Ryan Hardie has a fantastic goal scoring record against them, and if they win on Tues they'll officially be League Champions, so that may work in our favour, with them having a wee hangover from winning the tile and not quite being at their best.
It should be set up nicely for Hardie, they'll come at us and leave room for us to play our natural game, long balls over the top for Hardie to run onto and mug their defenders. Think he has scored 8 goals in his last 3 games against them.

Anyway, I've a good feeling about this one (bet that surprised you) and think we'll win this by a couple to spare.

    3-1 Livi, fg 7 mins.

St Mirren were well below par last night spurning chances galore. I can't see them not being up for it when they have a chance to win the league in front of their own crowd though.
I think the referee (as always Rolling Eyes ) will be important. Last night they went down at the slightest contact and got free kicks every time. The United crowd were apoplectic most of the game. We will no doubt be talked up as being a physical team prior to the game so that the ref is well warned. They will also have a big crowd ready to scream every time their ball playing "stars" go down.
I'd love to beat them but there will be just too many things working against us on the day I fear. Neutral

Aye but we've got Ryan goal machine Hardie and he likes scoring hattricks against St Mirren, should've scored one in the last game but only got a brace, he'll get one this time though. bounce

Something just didn't feel right thinking we'd be playing this with St Mirren already being hailed Champions, the pressure would've been off them had they won the point needed last night, but now it is back on them, the crowd will start to get edgy after a while, esp when we score first (no negative thoughts here, BELIEVE), I've been to their ground numerous times and it is brilliant when they're losing to us, they are as entertaining as the game itself. Laughing

We're also well over due a penalty, this would be as good a time as any for the ref to award us one, even better if it was a dodgy decision for the St Mirren fans to go apeshit over. lol!

I'm also glad this is away from home, away fans are always more vocal, and bunched in together is encourages others to join in too, St Mirren will have a couple of thousand 'here for the party' fans, and it will also have big pockets of vocal ones spread around (which still sounds diluted in a big stadium), I think it will be easier for our players to turn that to our advantage and get them nervy. I know some of  our home fans start getting mouthy at our players when things start going wrong, and St Mirren fans are far worse, almost over the line or not, they'll start to break ranks when it isn't going all their own way.

I usually drive through to our games against St Mirren but I think i'll book the bus and have a few pints pre match, got a feeling i'm going to enjoy us spoiling their party even more after some pre match tipple. drunken

St Mirren fans filled the away stand on Tuesday night plus a section of another. They were very vocal before the game singing non stop. The goal cooled them a bit but they erupted into song now and then. They were so sure it was their night. Wee shame. Laughing

While it would be superb to make them stick the champagne back in the ice bucket, I think they will get the point they need.

Championship winning days are so special as weve found out 5 times in our short history.Obviously the signifigance and importance of this game adds more spice to it but also makes it all the more harder to predict the outcome. On paper it has the makings of a cracker i just hope they dont cancel one another out and make it a borefest. As their lofty position sugests they are the best team in the league and will have deserved the title when it eventually comes their way just hope its not on Saturday.Weve had a terrific season and it would be great to beat the champions elect before they depart the division in front of their own supporters.Like Bertie though i feel share of the spoils will probably have to suffice here unless Livi really believe they can spoil the party. As we found out the other night and the last time we played them they aint invincible.Cmon Livi.Do it!!!

For the sake of both teams needing a point to guarantee their title/play-off spot:

We've lost every away game I've been to this season and conceded 3 goals in each of them, so with that in mind:

3-1 St Mirren, FG 16 mins.

I should put my old xmas 'lucky football socks' on to jinx LL's hoodoo then, whenever I've worn them we've drawn a game, never lost or won any, just keep fecking drawing games wearing them, i'm not superstitious but I stopped wearing them. Laughing

Maybe you should wash them first?

I'm really struggling here but will go for an extremely optimistic 1 - 3 to Livi with FG 27 mins

Balanced it out myself with a bet on St Mirren win with them scoring at least 3. I don't win bets, so we should be safe. Does mean it'll probably be 2-0 though just to piss me off Very Happy

    Did you wear them??

Was listening to Open All Mics travelling home from Buckie today & the game that got fewest mentions apart from in the last few minutes was this one. It sounded like a bore draw.

Other results went against us too... With the two teams that can catch us for second both closing the gap to 4 points....

Nah didn't wear them, just the suggestion that I should was enough though. lol!

Game was ok, we started off brightly with a couple of skirmishes in their box, was difficult to see how close we were getting to scoring with it being up the other end and us sitting behind the Livi goal. Then St Mirren were looking dangerous down our right flank and I thought they were going to score with that Morgan shot that hit the post, turns out Alexander got something on it so fantastic save. We defended well though and everyone put in a shift and a half, and we also got several free kicks from distance put into their box that troubled St Mirren, with our headers going just wide or over.

2nd half was more even and neither of us looked that likely to score, St Mirren had plenty bodies on Hardie and when Miller went off he was feeding off the scraps from long balls to run onto. They also looked like they had been training all week defending our long throw ins, Ross obv did his homework this time after being taken apart by us in the last game.
Finished with both teams looking like they were happy with a point apiece, St Mirren took a short corner to waste time and I don't think we were particularly bothered about them just seeing the game out.

Decent result though, a win next week against Brechin would see off Dunfermline and we'd get 3rd place at worst. Looks like Utd are making a fight of it though so we'll need to see how their results go against Brechin & QoS for what we'll need against ICT in the Tues night game.

Good synopsis Liviforever. I would just add that Danny Mullen is still a serial diver. He did it with us but never seemed to get half the free kicks he got today from Beaton. Very annoying. Sad

Aye he got a free kick every time he fell over, certainly didn't get them all the time with us. In that respect I couldn't see why some of our fans were getting annoyed with him, that's how he's always played, but he injured 3 of our players with some dirty challenges and should've had at least a yellow card. Maybe felt he had to prove himself to St Mirren fans by getting stuck into his old team, but he was getting a bit carried away with the tackles.

First of all congratulations to Jack Ross and his St Mirrin team on a magnificent campaigne that has seen them crowned league champions.Thoughrally desrved and i wish them well for their crack at the SPL.Secondly massive shout out to the Lions for securing our playoff place as well.We are where we are on merit and nobody can take that away from us.Givin the occasion yesterday it seemed that both teams were happy to settle for a point yesterday.Cant critisize the pitch invasion as weve done it our selves on a few occasions. So we move on to the last 3 games and as someone else has said i honestly cant tell how this is gonna turn out but weve given ourselves a helluva chance to do something really special here. Its gonna be a rollercoaster for all of us,lets see if the Lions can deliver. bounce bounce bounce

Apparently if ICT win their last 4 games they will finish above Dunfermline, they play each other in Inverness next week & both are in great form just now. Could be some game.

ICT have to win at Dumbarton on Tuesday night first though for that scenario to play out.

Congratulations to the Midden; they have won games consistently all season; the only real difference between them and us is they have won games that we have drawn. And we seem to be ending the season with a lot of draws, which is reducing my confidence levels going into the play offs

We want to peak at the right time though, we're going along nicely on cruise control just now, we all know we have goals in our team so no need to worry. Getting 2nd place is all that matters just now though, that gives us the best possible chance in the playoffs.

United are picking up form at the right time, which is worrying me as we could go into that last game against them with 2nd place still up for grabs. We've also got ICT the Tuesday before that so if we do drop to 3rd, getting to the play off final would mean we'd play Saturday(Brechin) - Tuesday(ICT) - Saturday(DunU) - Tuesday(4th) - Saturday(4th) - Tuesday(2nd) - Saturday(2nd) - Thursday(Prem) - Sunday(Prem)... Probably fair to say the players would be a bit more fucked finishing 3rd than 2nd. Suppose that's the point though, but having a game the midweek before the playoffs would start makes it look quite a bit worse.

Saying all that, ICT have played on 4 out of the last 5 Tuesdays so it's some effort for them to have got themselves back in with a shout. Seeing ICT still going, the effort our team consistently puts in, and the depth we have makes me a little less worried about the possibility of all those games; think I'm more worried about my bank account.
