I think it is a good idea in this day and age of technology but I am not understanding when and how it kicks in. In last night's Serbia/Switzerland game there was a blatant penalty not given even when footage showed two Swiss players holding down a Serbia player in the penalty box as a cross came over.

Re: VAR
I thought the first few games were refereed very well, However, I now wonder whether the officials have been given further instructions as some of the decisions in recent games have been extraordinary, The Serbian was grappled to the ground in what a decision that should not even have went to VAR any referee that missed that should never referee again.

Re: VAR
It is just the same inconsistencies as before, referees bug everyone because their decisions (good or bad) aren't consistent for both teams, same thing is happening with VAR, some pens are given for players being wrestled to the ground at set pieces, some are just ignored. Only way to stop all the holding, and in some cases just blatant bear hugging rugby tackles/judo throws, is to give a pen every time it happens, no matter how many times they'll have to e given. Then players will get the message that they can't do it.
