Having a think about this on the long journey home last night.
Our defence seem shithot, look tighter than a nuns... Well you know what.
But our strikers seem weak. We are constantly dominating teams, mainly in the second half, but fail to put away the majority of our chances.
We seem to be relying on Hippo coming off the bench to score.

    Anyone else worried about this?

I was thinking about this the other day actually. I wouldn't say worried but concerned perhaps. I'd really like Myles to get a go up front with White or Glen as I believe they'll both set him up well.

I think the goals will come from all over the team this season unlike previously when we were relying on McNulty and Russell. I also think we'll get a lot more goals from set pieces with the size of the team the way it is this season.

Not overly concerned, if our defence was shit then I'd be really worried. In past teams we've had a prolific goal scorer, Griffiths, Russell, McNulty, but our goals against was always on par with our high goals scored total. This season our defence is pretty solid so we don't need to score as many goals to get something from a game.

Saying that it is frustrating watching us dominate games and end up with nothing like the Dumbarton game. We'll be safe enough which I'd have been more than happy with during pre season as I was worried about what quality team we'd have after dumping so many players.

Suppose if we had a bit of dosh we'd be in a position to look for a decent striker and push for promotion but we're skint, so beggars can't be choosers.

I'm hoping that it'll click for Ogleby as he gets a lot of chances, same with Glen, White will prob get in double figures which is good enough, and hopefully Myles will establish himself in the starting line up and be that prolific goal scorer we're used to having.

Bit disappointed with Mullen but maybe I put too much expectation on his shoulders, still time in his development to become a good striker.

I don't think we create so many clear cut chances.

Too many shots are taken at long range when they could be played into Glen or White who are usually closer to the goal.

White is composed in the area but he does not get the ball often enough in there as we shoot from long range instead of slide passing through or going wide and getting a cross like Kyle did a few weeks ago.

However to have 2 players ( White and The Hippo) on 4 goals each after only 9 games is not too bad a ratio at all.

I wouldn't say I was worried as such, but I would like to see a wee bit more cutting edge up front. Seems churlish to say it, because a 1 in 2 record for two of your strikers (even at this early stage of the season) is fantastic, but I do still tend to to see Glen doing too much work outside the box. I do still tend to see Mullen trying almost too hard.

Obviously it would be wonderful to have all our forwards on hot streaks and scoring plenty, but the alternative (White/Hippolyte losing their touch) would be unthinkable for me.
