Michael Stewart Petition Empty Michael Stewart Petition

Post by Auld Nick Sat Feb 08, 2020 10:01 am

I know we don’t all agree with Michael Stewart’s comments, jings we don’t always agree with each other... but why should he be silenced from making comments on issues on the Scottish game? He was asked for an opinion & gave it but because it upsets the blue butt cheek of Glasgow he gets axed. There are bigger issues to sort out in Scottish football than this not least of which is the institutionalised bigotry primarily but not exclusively seen & heard in the west.

If you care about everyone having the right to an opinion click the link (hopefully it works) & sign the petition.

    Signed.

Can't have anyone standing up and calling out the bigot bros, wondered why McFadden was on Sportscene on Thurs right enough.

Yeh, I've signed it too. I always like listening to him. He says it as it is. Stephen Thompson and McFadden just say the glaringly obvious. Boring!

Yeah but at least McFadden stuck up for Livi when Sutherland started with the 'great leveller' pish on our plastic pitch. McFadden saying that would suggest Livi aren't good, they've got good players and can pass the ball well.

It is our home advantage same as any kind of pitch gives a team home advantage by them playing on it all the time. Some teams get an even greater adv playing at home, having big crowds that influence refereeing decisions, don't hear Sutherland saying that about Sevco and Celtic though.

Watched a bit of BT’s Scottish Football round up style show the other day... the host, Chris Sutton, the Irish guy (Stephen something, was part of the pundit team during our play-off win) & Michael Stewart were conference calling to discuss the game. I missed most of the show but the end of it was the question “What has been your highlight of the season?”

Stephen answered first, then Michael & finally Chris....but I’ll save Michael to the end

Stephen said - Motherwell, playing good football & challenging for Europe (he stated his former connection to the club as well)
Chris said Celtic’s Europa League group win in Italy (No real surprise in his choice & it was a great result)
Michael said that it was undoubtedly Livingston - having the spine of the team ripped out had everyone tipping them to struggle but they rebuilt & are even stronger than last season, comfortably in the top 6 & don’t forget would also have been in a position to challenge for a European place when the virus brought lockdown.

So good on him for recognising the club’s excellent season publicly & while the other 2 picked teams they had links with, he went with one entirely on its own merit.
