the whole thing is a farce...from Livi's inept handling of their "declaration", to Rankine being caught with his pants down in Methil & on to the corridors of power that will find any & all ways possible to make Livingston the example, scapegoat, patsy, call it what you will.

He's not even a director of LFC, he's a director of the company that owns LFC. Likewise he's not a director of East Fife, he just happens to be "friendly" with one of their owners & her daughter. and yet our punishment is more severe than Ashley/Newcastle/Huns put together & yet Ashley owns Newcastle, is owed millions by the Huns & 5 fringe Newcastle players got loaned to the Huns. Now tell me, who is/was showing influence over the running of 2 clubs?

Yeah that was his story but it isn't the case and the SFA know it (prob have proof given to them by Nixon too). He's been caught breaking their rules and was silly to do so considering what he did several years back getting their head man to resign over the same thing. Can't leave yourself open to these things when you've made enemies in the governing bodies.

Read on LL we've been told by the SFA to pay 45K to an agent for the sale of McNulty and Donaldson. Must be the agreement made to Hughes/Collins by Nixon to pay them a percentage of any player we sold and Rankine hasn't done so.

No doubt if anyone does come in and take over the club at the end of the season they'll be left with all this mess, plus Rankine's fines that are being put on Livi fc.

Nixon is possibly the slimiest charlatan the club has ever had.

Livingston boss Mark Burchill is adamant they will be able to field a team in the relegation play-offs if they move up to ninth-place. He says only one player is not contracted until after the relevant play-off dates. (Scotsman)

That's made me feel a lot better about the end of the season but I think if we keep the same level of intensity and pick up 6 points in the last 3 games, that may well be good enough for 8th.

Actually I believe we'll only need to pick up 7 points from our last three games to be virtually guaranteed safety (provided Alloa do not beat QoS on Saturday.

Cant see Alloa winning at Easter Road or Cowdenbeath beating Hearts leaving them on 25 and 23 points respectively. Four points and we're guaranteed ninth place but seven will clear us against all scenarios other than Cowdenbeath winning their game by about 25 clear goals.

The Huns have finally been done for breaching 'dual-ownership' rules. £5,500 fine but no transfer embargo. They make it up as they go along this mob.

Interesting reading. I'm just relieved this is past us now and we can look to getting Rankine out the door.

Surprised from that document that Tesco never bought the stadium, though. Thought it would've been a good deal for all involved - Tesco get land in the town centre, and the Council (I presume) would've got a very decent wedge whilst simultaneously securing professional football in the area for a long time. Wonder if it'll ever come round again.

    Wonder how much "costs" were.

Sounds like a good deal all round

Aye, typical...just like the Hun-lover of a referee on Wednesday night, its one rule for us & another for them. Anne Budge is right, the clubs need to stand up to the blazers when they are wrong & they are seldom right.

I'm still absolutely seething about his utter farce of a performance on Wednesday night. His blatant love of Rangers could be the difference between us being relegated and staying in the Championship. His performance should be reviewed and he should be suspended. It was an absolute disgrace. He'll get it tight the next time he comes to Almondvale. Having said that, the SFA/SPFL won't review it, and their beloved Huns have got away with another dodgy point.

As for the Rankine case: another great result for Livi. We simply cannot lose at the moment, on and off the pitch. I always had a good feeling about this though. We had him banged to rights - there was no written agreement which stated he could collect his money at any given time, and thankfully the courts have justified this. An absolute piece of vermin, and its good to see us finally winning the battle against these charlatans. Hopefully as a result of this Rankine can get shot of any shares he has in the club, and we can move on on and off the pitch. There's still a lot of work to be done, but we're getting there. I don't think things look anywhere near as bleak as they did several months ago. You'll still get fannies in the media and on the internet giving it large, but they're not to be listened to.

Thought it best to move this convo into this thread as the other one was about PoTY awards and we were a tad off topic. Laughing

It seemed like just days before the start of the new season before they decided to put us down.

    Wouldn't put anything past them.

Don't worry D, if Bertie is saying it then it wont happen, he's our good luck charm as long as he predicts the worst. Suspect

Seriously though would imagine Rankine will have to be well gone before the season starts anyway or we'll start the season with a points deduction.

Starting the season with only two or three professional players on our books might be worse than any points deduction?

Aye that too, the signing embargo would stop us from being able to field a team, or at least field a competitive one.
Sevco's got lifted so they could sign up players and then put back on, doubt they'd do that for us though.

Hopefully we'll hear Rankine is away soon so things can move forward for next season and us fans will find out if someone else is taking over from him.
