    Yeh,taking these things into account, which we didn't know at the time its understandable.And going to Easter Road difficult at the best of times as well didn't help.Maybe cut them some slak and hope they come back ready to go again.God knows we'll have too.

    Between sickness, injuries and dodgy referees (yes today's ref wasn't too bad) we are not getting many breaks these days. Add to that a fixture list which seemed to have been cobbled together with a view to us getting minimum points in the first half dozen games.
    To get nothing from the Aberdeen and Motherwell games was disappointing given that we more than matched both teams. The Rangers game at Ibrox on the first day of the season was a write off before it started. We ran out of steam and subs today and didn't look like we could take anything out of the game after the second half started. We need to start picking up points soon though or the rot might set in.
    And we really need to sign a defender

    As much as we're having horrid luck with illness and injuries, some of it has been brought on by Martindale's lack of cover in defence, only having 2 actual proper CB's, and one has been out injured since the group stages of the cup. Obileye can play there and has been our best player in that position, but i believe he was signed to replace Marv as a DM, and the QotS fans said that was where he played best for them.

    Kelly just isn't a CB, and this quote bugs me;
    Sean Kelly [who replaced Fitzwater] shouldn't have gone on the park.”

    Kelly sustained rib damage last week but was thrown on as the only left-sided centre-back in the squad with Tom Parkes sidelined, and he was turned by Kevin Nisbet for the opener as he “wasn’t up to speed with the game,” according to his manager.

    He wasn't carrying an injury in the other games he came on and it cost us points, losing games from winning positions, or a position where a draw was looking the least we'd get.

    The fact we're having to play a player in that position carrying an injury, when for weeks it has been flashing like a beacon as a position we needed cover for, and we still haven't signed a CB, instead we sign up another midfielder. He mentioned after the loss to Motherwell he was aware we needed another CB signed, i'm not even confident he's going to bring one in now, as it looks like we're just making do with what we've got. Which might've been fine had we some points on the board, but with every defeat it makes our season so much harder.

    We're not a million miles away from getting points, but illness and injuries are killing us, and not having enough proper defensive cover has contributed to that. Getting in a competent CB would make a huge difference to us being able to start picking up points.

    I think fans' frustration at the club not signing another CB is compounded by the fact that we are so overloaded with midfielders that we're having to send them out on loan to get games. Our defensive frailties are spoiling a lot of the good work being done in other areas of the pitch. It needs sorted and soon.

    Even worse when we're so desperate for a CB, we sign a midfielder who has to wait on International clearance that could take at least 4 weeks. This could be another Diani, where it'll be months before he can play, the home office hadn't Afghanistan's collapse to the Taliban on its plate last season either. I think we could be waiting a while for them to get around to a footballer's International clearance, getting refugees to safety, or in Patel's case, stopping them from fleeing to our Country will get their priority.
