Anyone willing to bet against us getting Raith in our group?

Group G: Livingston, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Cove Rangers, Kelty Hearts, Albion Rovers

Some group we're in, beaten Premiership finalists and 2 strong up and coming newly promoted teams, piece of pish.

Just don't take it to pens against Kelty, DJ was always shit hot at saving them.

Pretty sure we'll get Caley at home, they'll be the 2nd seeds and we'll be 1st, and as such will get home advantage against 2nd. That's why we were at home to Raith last season.

I think we'll be home to ICT & Kelty, away to Cove & Albion Rovers.

As i thought.

Good one to start with, easing our way back into the season with the weakest team. Tough from thereon in though, take it we'll have a couple of friendlies lined up prior to these games, to get the cobwebs shaken off.

Things becoming a bit clearer now, still some games to be played tomorrow night but it's looking like we still needs favours from other teams in the final games on Saturday. There are 4 or 5 3nd placed teams as good or better than us, the ones on the same points as us have better GD's some +5 to our +1, so doubtful we can make that up against Kelty, unless we score about 8.

If we win we'll be on 9pts

Group A's 2nd team is Raith on 5pts and out of the running.

Group B's 2nd team is Killie on 7pts, looking likely this groups runner up will be above us

Group C's 2nd team is Dunfermline on 6pts and a +6 GD, still permutations that could turn this around for us but as it stands it looks likely they'll finish above us.

Group D's 2nd team  is Falkirk on 5pts but still to play 2 games, so need to see what happens tomorrow with them.

Group E's 2nd team is Airdrie on 7pts, good thing for us is they play Arbroath on Sat, who top their group on 9pts, win for Arbroath would put them out the running, but as it stands they're above us on PTS and GD.

Group F's 2nd teams are QoTS & St Johnstone on 5 PTS, both out the running if we win ours.

Group G is us and we need to beat Kelty to be on 9 PTS and in with a chance of progressing past the group stages.

Group H's 2nd team is QP on 6 PTS and + 5 GD, Accies are also on 6PTS with a +3 GD, both play one another on Saturday so still wide open for things to go pair shape for both of them, hopefully a draw and both would be out.

Groups in bold are currently better than us and will finish above us if they win their final games, so lots still to play for and nothing is certain for us progressing, even if we win.

Says 5 PTS on the BBC groups page. Which would be a win, a defeat and a draw and a bonus point in the pen shoot out. I'll check their results.

Raith 1-1 Stirling Albion (Stirling won the pen shoot out). 1 point

Raith 6-0 Peterhead. 3 pts

Dumbarton 0-0 (Raith won the pen shoot out). 2 pts

Yeah so 6pts, typical bbc, got the results yet can't add them up into their groups. Hopefully the rest is right cause i aint going through every result to check.

We're in a slightly better position than last season right enough, where we finished on 8 pts and somehow scraped through as a best of the runners up. Going against us is an extra European place*, 5 teams in Europe which leaves 1 less runner up qualifying when they join the knock out stages.

*Argh, 30 seconds away from one being us, double kick in the nads if we fail to qualify because of Motherwell taking up that League cup spot too. Course Holts missed pen would've had us on 7 pts had it gone in, with a chance of the bonus point putting us on 8 pts, and a win on Sat 10 or 11 pts, qualifying no problem, all ifs and buts now though. We've only ourselves to blame as we had it in our own hands.

Fingers crossed on Sat, everyone will be checking results in other games to see if we pull off another miraculous cup group qualifier.

Hope we go to town on Kelty anyway, this is the last game before playing Sevco the following Sat, would be good going into it with a big win.
