Nouble usually plays up front in these games, so that wont be happening, good chance for Bruce to show us what he can do, just hope Shamal is allowed to hit long balls up to him if we leave him up the pitch when we defend corners, noticed Martindale telling him not to against Hearts, which was a waste of time for Bruce being left up there. It has taken us long enough to even start leaving a player up there in the first place, now we just need to get the ball quickly up to him.

Lets see Martindale pulling off another miracle and making it 6 league games undefeated. Mon the Livi Lions. cheers

Huge test, they are winning without breaking sweat. So let’s make them sweat. However no doubt we will pack the defence and give them the ball,

He should play them the Darvel manager’s pre match speech.

Expecting absolutely hee haw from this.Celtic are a well oiled machine and will no doubt go on to win the title imo.Can we put a spanner in the aforementioned machine?I seriously doubt it.As someone else said,we've a much more important game on Saturday against Killie. Not doubting the lads ability to sneak something tonight, but my head says damage limitation is the order of the day here.Anyway good luck Livi, have a go.Nothing to lose.🤞🦁🙏.

Big Nouble makes the bench, a step closer to getting back playing.

Defensive set up with Bradley & Stephen Kelly dropped to the bench, and going 3 at the back with Obileye joining Boyes & Fitzwater, though for much of the game Penrice & Devlin will most likely be making it a back 5.

No great shock in the selection. Bruce will be lonely and likely pretty cold unless he is in our box as well.

I understand that we want to make it difficult for them to break us down but sometimes I wish we’d just go and impose ourselves on the game rather than have them doing all the imposing.

May as well get Brucie off and save him for the Killie game, let Guthrie play the 2nd half and Nouble a run out for the last 10 mins to get some match time in his legs.

Good news is Aberdeen and St Mirren are drawing 0-0, would be great if it remains that score.

St Midden gubbing Aberdeen drops us down to 5th.Oh well didn't get the hammering id envisaged at HT,so something to take at least.Glad to get it out of the way tbh.Now all the focus should be on Saturday and get ourselves back on the rails.Celtic imperious, champs right there.

I'm always glad when we get this fixture out of the way. I know the dilemma for Davie is either we sit in and go for damage limitation hoping we might get lucky with a breakaway goal or we go for it attack wise and risk a hammering from a free flowing Celtic team. In both scenarios an element of luck is required and tonight we had none. The Taylor goal was unstoppable and came just as we were doing quite well in keeping them at bay. The Maeda goal was bad luck and we got punished with the Kyogo goal with Omeonga failing to get in the tackle on him further back. Happily no more goals in the second half.

The positives are that we have now played 1st and 3rd in this third round of the league games while our opponents still have to. If we can beat Killie and Dundee United in our next two games we will still be in a good place. It won't be easy but I trust that this group of players will give it their best shot.

Thought the ref was ok tonight. Not often I say that

St Mirren have a bit of an easy run of fixtures just now (well as easy as you can in this league, missing the tougher teams and playing ones you can get points from), but it'll all come out in the wash when everyone has played everyone else.

Good seeing Nouble getting on the pitch though, should see him and Anderson linking up soon.
