Hibs v Livi Empty Hibs v Livi

Post by Liviforever Thu Mar 14, 2024 4:17 pm

Feels like we're just treading water now, waiting on the relegation express coming along to take us to the Championship. However, Hibs are there for the taking with Boyle out (knowing our luck he'll make this game), and us having our best league game of the season against them at Easter Rd, hopefully we can replicate that win and see where it takes us.

Really need to close the gap on County to at least 3pts going into the split, then the head to head game at home gives us another shot at it (yes i know, we've been there before and blown it). That's all we can hope for, is just one more last chance, and then the play offs. There's this game and the home game v Aberdeen where we need wins, Celtic @ home and Hearts Away is a bit too far, even for me.

Before i get too carried away though, we've a sickness bug going through the squad, so feck knows what players will be fit for the game, and how energetic they'll be if they've been down with it. Only player i know was Holt being ill and missed the Celtic game, but hopefully he'll be over it now, hoping Yengi is ok, he's our biggest goal threat just now.

Yeh,would agree we're treading water at the moment.Countys late equaliser the other night was a hammer blow to us.Just don't think there's a 7 point swing in this, though I've been wrong before😉.Suppose weve just got to soldier on in the hope that County slip up however unlikely.Yeh,heard a couple of days ago there was a bug sweeping through the club and they had to shut the place down Christ that's all we needed.Only comfort is that we can concentrate on matters on the field as opposed to all the shite happening of it,court cases, trust etc etc.Cringeworthy at best.Any way Mon the Lions, just have a right go.You never know.

Well we've managed to put out a team, with some squad filling youngsters on the bench. Looks like Sean Kelly and Obileye as CB's, and Brandon & Montano as FB's, in a back 4. Decent looking attack again, with goals in it, will just depend on how much that sickness bug has taken out the players.Hibs v Livi Screen20

Watched the “highlights”… every single goal was like taking candy from a baby. The defence should have been charged admission and been arrested for being spectators on the pitch.

Hibs have acquired a few decent players but that was amateur defending for 20 minutes, actually that is derogatory towards amateurs, they’d have made a better fist of defending.

From here on in they need to pick players on contracts beyond the end of this season and if that is not enough to make a team fill the remaining places with the best of the rest. Maybe then the guys that are staying will have a chance of being an organised team next season.

Don't think i want any of our CB's playing next season, our defence needs a complete rebuild.

Had a quick look on iplayer, flucking hell, we made Hibs look like Brazil the way they played through our static midfield and defence for their goals. They haven't scored more than 2 goals all season and they could easily have got 5 yesterday, maybe have to put it down to the sickness bug as an excuse, because we looked so lethargic it was easy for Hibs, and Hibs really aren't that good.

No, I’d rather have better defenders but Ayo may be ok at that level as he was with QotS, although I think he’s out of contract anyway. It’s possible they would do better at that level, probably not enough to get us back up but at least to keep us competitive & it may be cheaper to keep the guys under contract than to terminate by mutual agreement.
