I don't really tend to just judge it on the quality of the ground either, it's the whole day out I judge it on. I like St Mirren because it's a nice stadium, but also because you're right next to the angriest section of supporters in Europe who absolutely lost the head whenever a tackle was made. You could see them looking over at you and feel their heads going when they could see the smug look on your face whenever Hippolyte dived. Only been once but the WUM tactics from the stands and observing rage from the opposition fans is always enjoyable.
Hibs is good for the pre and post-match bar selection in the capital. It's a nice ground too. Don't really go to that for the football, just a day out.
Rangers is funny because of the fans beside the away end. The Union Bears are funny because they're all 12 and have megaphones, there's always a 40 year old in with them jumping about. The rage from the fat mingers in the other stand is even funnier, funniest thing I've ever seen in a football ground. The anger and frustration as they belt out GSTQ in their Donnay tracksuits is quite special. It's more of a comedy event than anything else. I enjoyed someone personally calling me a beast.
Falkirk is a nice ground and I've seen us put in a few good performances there. I usually booze before and after the match. Good mixture of a binging session and a game of football you'd like to get a result in.
Alloa isn't that shite, you get a good view of the pitch and we usually win there. I've been once, we played shite and lost 1-0. The linesman on our side took some pretty nasty abuse. We had guys like Donaldson and Beaumont playing and you could tell they weren't up to it. It's a ghost town - I boozed in Stirling after the game and a woman old enough to be my mum tried to put her hands down my pants in an Irish bar - I went to the toilet to be sick less than 5 minutes later.
Morton is nostalgic and it's usually a very close and interesting game. I like the big crane thing in the background. There's a pillar in the way of the pitch though and it's always fucking freezing. The area around the ground is a dump and it's like going back in time.
You get a good view of the pitch and Dumbarton and you can get a train direct from Livingston North, about a 5 minute walk to the ground from there. I went once when we were in Div 2 and we won 3-0 - Big Shags played for them at the time and had an absolute howler. His confidence was fucked and I left thinking he was the worst player I'd ever saw, how wrong I was.
QoS is grim, basically in England, it smelled rotten, the stand was ready to collapse, food was mingin and they played really daft goal music. Pain in the arse to get to and it's just a bit of a dump. No desire of going back.
Raif is in Fife, they had 5 stewards guarding about 100 Livi fans and I still got on the pitch. It's ridiculously lop-sided, two big stands behind each goal and 2 mickey mouse things at the side. Dull and grey and the locals are the ugliest bunch I've seen (probably cause they're from Fife). It's also really quiet. I only go when I feel it's a big game (I've been the last 3 times).
I'd imagine Livi is a middle of the road away day.
