Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
I feared we were facing Falkirk at the wrong time before the original date for this game; meanwhile they have continued to close in quietly on the top two while we have hit the new low of Alloa before improving slightly against Dumbarton & then wiping the floor with St Mirren. The one good thing about the game is that it is away so the lack of atmosphere apart from the usual negative vibes at the Vale will not have an effect.
However Falkirk are on a great run & it would be hilarious if they could catch the "big two" - sadly to do so will happen at our expense.
Bairns 2 Lions 1
FG 20 mins

Falkirk's been flying under the radar with everyone looking at Sevco & HIbs battling at the top, good chance of them going 2nd in the league after this game. Hopefully we feck up their big chance of 2nd place and get ourselves into 7th place.

1-1 fg 41 mins, changed my mind, maybe just nick a draw which would be good as Falkirk have the best defensive home record in the whole of the spfl not just the Championship.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Yeah but Peterheid stuck 5 past them at TFS so they can have an off day, incredible record in the league though, I see they're on the same GA as the 2 top teams and have scored a goal more than Hibs for the GF, they really are going about their business relatively unnoticed by the media.
Notice McCallum is back at Utd and we're trying to get his loan extended in time for the QoS game on Sat, hope DJ has been working on his positioning at free kicks as he'll be in goals tonight.

Normal service resumed.
Total mince from start to finish. Hippo playing at the back with Millen and Longridge on the bench WTF???.
A cold miserable night, £4 to park in a paddy-field and a dire game.
Bye Hopkin.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Well bloody fantastic
We win four one on the Saturday and then make four changes to the starting eleven.
Lunatics are running the asylum.
What we going to do next Saturday ask for fan volunteers to play because we are making eleven changes due to us losing two nil.
Madness , think this may be my last post for a while.
Happy new year to everyone , get on the booze cos you will need it to continue following this mental club.
Cheers and bye for now.

Think most of the posters got it bang on pre match by suggesting a standard home win tonight.Having said that lets not forget that Falkirk have much more realistic aspirations as to where they are going to be at the end of the season.Dissapointed as we are we have a genuine chance to bounce back against the Doonhamers on Saturday.Agree with ffdy1 need to get experience in our dugout asap while we still have a chance to rectify another frustrating campaign,Get it fixed Board members.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Thought it was a decent effort, went in 0-0 and nearly got a goal in the first half with us hitting the post.
2nd half Falkirk got the break through when we stood off them a bit and they got the ball into Miller who tucked it away. They're clearly a better team than us and were putting pressure on us closing us down. At 2-0 they did to us what we did to St Mirren with a ball whipped into the box, and were now cruising, though we had a Hippo Header cleared off the line and Mullen was getting closer with good shots from around the box, first one went narrowly wide and 2nd glanced off the post. Pity we didn't get that elusive goal and put some pressure on Falkirk, would've at least gave them a wee fright.
Nobody really thought we'd get anything from this game so happy enough with the effort the players put in, I think we'll beat QoS as they're nowhere near as good as Falkirk and we'd prob have scored a couple against a lesser team tonight.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Can't understand the rationale of changing a winning team. Nor of playing players out of position when there are players who play that position fit & on the bench.
Didn't expect anything from this game but seem to me like Hopkin simply repeated the formula of Burchill as I suspected he would & that is disappointing.

Yep same messing about with the starting line up as Burchill. Hippo at LB, Mullen and White dropped to the bench. Mullen looked good when he came on and was the only player getting shots in from distance, wasn't far off scoring either. Hippo is an attacking player so why we're playing him as a LB when Longridge is fit is bizarre. Gibbons didn't have a good game so wish we had kept the same line up as Sat and started Mullen.
Couldn't understand taking Buchanan off for White either, thought it should've been Sheerin.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Cant say I enjoyed the game. Livi were bad and the player selection was just odd.
The only saving grace was that I had a decent piss-up before the match.

Re: Falkirk v Livi (Tues 7.30pm)
Bizarre team selection from Hopkin aside, I thought we didn't play too badly. More than matched Falkirk during the first half, and really should've went ahead when Buchanan hit the post. Two defensive errors from the left hand side for their goals, quelle surprise, interesting to note on P&B that a Falkirk fan reckons this was the sort of game they'd have drawn last season. It's not down to luck that they're sitting second going into the New Year, so credit to them for that. Like all Peter Houston teams, they're savvy, persistent and clinical when needs be - a lot of things which we are not.
