Dumbarton v Livi Empty Dumbarton v Livi

Post by Liviforever Mon Jan 25, 2016 2:22 pm

For some reason i'm quite looking forward to this game, dear knows we're due a win over them, and I've got a wee grumbling feeling in the pit of my stomach that this could be one of those games where everything clicks for us. Or it might just be wind building up!

I'll go for an early prediction before my heart rules my head again and I get carried away, 4-1 Livi fg 12 mins.

Think EL should introduce a bonus point for anyone that can predict Hopkin's starting 11 and forward line up/formation. lol!

Dumbo fans aren't optimistic of this going ahead, pitch is waterlogged just now and more rain is forecast all week, with high winds thrown in for good measure.

Cole's playing and Fotheringham isnt so that's any prediction I had of sneaking a win out of the window.

Would tend to agree with Durnford. Not as good a team as I thought we might have.

Cole better not be a stone over weight still.

Why? Cole is supposed to be injured and no mention that Fozzy is???

Gordon and Longridge both missing as well and not one of those three are on the bench.

Neil on for Cole at half time; likewise Sheerin for Mullen

What a surprise, we have apparently dominated the game if the Twitter feed on the OCS is anything to by and we find ourselves a goal down...perhaps I was too optimistic in predicting a draw

Imagine signing a highly rated young player like Telfer only to make him sit on the bench, while Darren Cole and Gary Glen get a start.

These are must win games and Hopkin has shown he is bringing nothing new to the party. I thought Burchill won with the absurd tactics and line up choices but Hopkin trumped that by starting Cole and leaving Telfer on the bench.
Kakay looks a good player but he will soon find out that he will be bursting a gut for a team that don't share his enthusiasm. We are running out of games and I cannot see where our next points, never mind goals, will come from.

    Worrying times.

Given the official statement on the OCS regarding unacceptable behaviour at Dumbarton, I hope the decent fans that were there will help the club rid itself of the bad apples asap. The club has enough problems without having to deal with this. (Sits back and waits for the perpetrators - if they are on here, which I wholeheartedly hope they aren't - to attempt to justify themselves)

Another shambolic performance against a side that man for man are no better, and probably have less quality than us. BUT they play as a team and to their capabilities and that is where we fell down badly today.

Weird starting line up with Cole back in the side and Danny Mullen again up front on his own farting against thunder. OK the conditions were farcical at times with the wind blowing the ball all over the place and contributing to the Dumbarton goal. However the conditions were the same for both sides and we simply could not take advantage of the wind at our backs in the first half.

Pass marks today go to McCallum who is proving to be a real godsend against that leaking brittle defence and the new chap Kaykay, really impressed by him.

Can someone tell Gary Glen that he ain't Lionel Messi and get him to practice taking corners cos' he is dam awful at times.

And as for that group of nut-job supporters whose unacceptable behaviour we had to put up with today, please stay way from this club you are a total embarrasment and are not wanted.

Not a good day.... and I'm still bloody cold.

So dissapointed with the result today.Ihope these players have as rotten a remainder of the weekend that we all have, but thier again we,re well used to it by now.Embarresing as it was to concede the goal from a corner why the hell was no one there to block it from going in.We didnt take our chances when the opportunities presented themselves although i appreciate the weather conditions didnt help either team.Totally agree with other posters about the bampots in our section today. But im affraid the pleas from the the club to identify these cretins will probably fall on deaf ears.Idont know them but i would be willing to bet someone else does, Do the decent thing and get rid off!.

Troy, the thing is not whether you know them it is whether you would recognise them so they can be identified. If you can, then I would urge you to let the club know, if you can't then I hope there is someone who can. I wasn't there but I wouldn't be surprised if they are amongst a particular wee clique.

Yep Kakay was good, so was McCallum.

Dumbarton barely got out of their half for the first 20 mins as the wind blew any clearance played in the air straight back into their half, but we didn't take advantage of the conditions and our corners were especially bad. Kakay was impressive taking the ball down the wing to the bye line, looks a great signing. McCallum made a good save from a rare Dumbarton shot on goal in the first half. Cole was a bomb scare giving the ball away and looking nervy on the ball, made a great tackle later on but too little too late.

We need to get our starting line up sorted, White and Buchanan up front and stop playing White in midfield. Didn't see the 2nd half so don't know how Sheerin got on, but we didn't score so isn't working with the tactics Hopkin is using.

Gordon was suspended, no idea why Fozzy wasn't playing, no complaints about starting Halkett and Kakay though, happy enough to have Halkett or Longridge start, and Kakay is a must start after seeing him today.
