Hibs v Livi Empty Hibs v Livi

Post by Liviforever Mon Apr 04, 2016 2:58 pm

Can't help feeling we're the underdogs here and will be lucky to take a point but Hibs are dire just now and we're on a decent run from our last 6 games, 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat, so should be looking to take at least a point here. In fact we should've beaten them in our last game, the one that seemed to start their current bad run of form off.

If there was a time to beat Hibs it's now, we've not managed to do it since they came down a season ago, but it is all lined up for us to get that sorted on Tues. The only thing holding me back from unbridled positivity is Cole, you always feel he's one pass away from setting the other team up with a goal.

I'll go for a 1-0 Livi win but have a niggly feeling it'll be the other way around. FG 67 mins.

We have a minging record away at Hibs and we're always that team that change the fortunes of the opponents when they're on a poor run i.e. Hibs' recent form.

    3-1 Hibs. FG 24 mins.

Would love to think that we could continue Hibs recent poor run of late but i reckon if we were offered a share of the spoils right now most would bite your hand off for it.Not so sure that its all doom and gloom maybe just that people are just being realistic here.Sincerly hope im wrong of course and that Livi recover after Saturdays debacle. Can you do it Livi ? Over to you.

Hopkin seems to know how to nullify the "bigger" teams, and following on from the recent result at Falkirk, I wouldn't be surprised to see us get a point here.

    1-1, FG 52 mins.

37 Livi fans, because £22 to watch fucking Hibs on a Tuesday night is dreadful.

Not going to be able to make it tonight so hopefully we have someone doing the twitter updates...

Hibs are doing rotten at the moment, but every team on bad form manages to turn it around against us. 2-1 Hibs, FG 20 mins

Certainly when I went last season it was £12 for students. If it's went up to the full price then Hibs are even bigger robbing bastards than I thought.

Pretty happy with the starting line up, glad Longridge is back, and Kakay being in midfield is good too, expect Mullin will replace him as a 2nd half sub to give fresh legs going up the wing.

    Livingston
    26McCallum
    12Halkett
    6Gordon
    4Cole
    3Longridge
    30Telfer
    8Fotheringham
    7Pittman
    2Kakay
    19Buchanan
    9White

Not sure who will play where with White and Buchanan right enough, will they both be up front or White in  midfield again.

Hibs are starting Cummings, Stokes and El Alegui, we'll have to be on our toes in defence, esp at set pieces where Alegui is concerned, always scored with Falkirk in games against us.

El Alegui off injured, Keatings on. Glad Farid has left as he's a real danger with headers but Keatings is a goal threat too.

1-1 now, hope we can at least take a point here with Dumbarton losing to Sevco, another Livi goal would be great though, mon the Lions.

    Pisser 2-1 Hibs, we've Hibs'd it.

    Hibs 2-1 Livi FT.

Just for a short while we'd moved above Dumbarton, just have to do it on Sat against Morton. Hope Telfer is ok, says he went off injured.

As much as we can credit the effort made by the team and the expectations with the tactics we had set ourselves, we failed to see out the game. Hibs shouldn't have been losing at half-time with the three/four chances they had to score but poor finishing or being a yard off got us out of it.

Game opened up in the second half as Hibs were chasing, meaning we hit them a bit more on the counter but most times, our passing was wayward or we just weren't quick enough to break. We started tiring early on so Hopkin should've brought Mullin or Sheerin on in the 65/70 mins mark to run them down, add some fresh legs and keep it tight at the back. He left it far too late as we were chasing the game by the time anyone came on. Some finish by Boyle but it would never have came if they hadn't equalised which in itself was poor to give away as they allowed Stokes to turn and shoot.

Hard to take in considering we were only 15 mins away from the win but the best team won on the night. Need to win and be shaped up to win on Saturday.

I thought we matched them well in the first half with our hard work and aggressive play. Hibs were very wasteful and we deserved our goal when it came

In the second half we just sat in against wave after wave of Hibs attack. It was nerve-wracking to watch and we nearly got away with it. After their fist goal I would have been quite happy with the draw but a wonder goal ended that. We came at them again after that but to no avail.

The ref gave us precious little all night preferring to be influenced by every shout of the 7k Hibs crowd. In one particular instance Buchanan managed to nick the ball just before it crossed the by-line as a Hibs defender was shepherding it out. Buchanan would have been just the man to do something with nobody else near the keeper. Inexplicably the ref blew for a goal kick. The Livi fans behind that goal must all have felt as robbed as I did. But that's been the story of our season.

Galant effort from the lads last night albeit ending up with a predictable score after a backs to the wall for most of the game.Once again a screamer has sunk us and not for the first time this season.Really am getting pissed off with the amount of times im hearing Livi put so much into a game and come away away with nothing to show for their endevours.Keep hoping that just once we,l get arub of the green but it seems that fate is against us.Nerveracking as it is to be a Livi supporter these days i feel that we must try and try while there is still time to turn this around albeit the chance is getting slimmer by the days.Lets keep the negativity till the end of season post mortem if its required of course.!
