If this beats the weather and goes ahead then I think we will win it. Stenny have had a mixed bag of results in their last 6 games, some decent wins, a few defeats and draws, but they're a team we seem to have no problem brushing aside with two convincing wins against them, 4-1 at home and 4-0 away.

However with the state the pitch is in it may be a bit more difficult to predict how we'll play.

I'll take a stab at another clean sheet for the Lions, 3-0 Livi, fg 18 mins. Anyone know a dry weather dance?

Yeah we grubbed them in both matches played on a decent pitch at the start of the season and their artificial one. The current state of the pitch makes it a bit of a lottery. Add the pressure of the moaners who think we are crap if we aren't 4 up at half time and anything could happen.

    Liv 2 Sten 0 FG 31 mins

If the forecasted snow materialises then the weather might claim another one,

I for one have already made alternative plans for Saturday as there isnt a cats hell in chance that this game will be on.An already waterlogged pitch coupled with the deluge today and more to come before Saturday afternoon.Get real Livi and let the fans know well in advance and not leave it to the last minuite. Its not rocket science Livi .The fans deserve to know and shouldnt be mucked about here.Christ the second midweek game as well as a few others beckon im afraid.

AFAIK, isn't it the referee's decision whether or not a game goes ahead? If we were playing Stranraer or Peterhead I could understand calling it off on Friday, but given that Stenny's only half an hour away, I suspect it'll be the usual 10am inspection on Saturday morning.

Yes Afro it is the refs decision but im sorry, regardless of who the opposition is im not getting my hopes up along with many others that we will have some sort of weather change that might get the game on as much as id love to.Yes i agree with you that the club will probably hold the oblicatery pitch inspection only to be let down by the bleeding obvious.Shite pitch Shite weather.End off.Lol.T.

The point is - stop having a go at Livi it's not their call to make.

Given the call off on Tuesday & the current & forecasted weather, the league themselves ought to be consulting with the club on the condition of the pitch. They don't like postponements if they can be avoided, so the league will decide when to inspect the pitch again & probably give it as much chance as possible to be ready. It would be a ludicrous state of affairs if the game was called off on Friday night only to be perfectly playable an hour before kick off (I realise this is unlikely).

That said I have no doubt that if the club think that the pitch is going to be unplayable then they should be able to highlight this to the league so that a decision can be made in plenty of time but as Afro says, they are only half an hour up the road.

Yep, many a time a game has been called off early in the morning only for the fans to complain that by the afternoon the sun was splitting the trees and the game could've been played. You really can't win with fans at times.

I think a 10 am pitch inspection is early enough for a decision and announcement, though we've already seen that if it rains an hour before KO it could still cause a flood on our pitch, so it could be dry in the morning and the pitch is ok, then raining in the afternoon and the game is called off. Don't know how the ref/Livi fc can be held responsible for that.

Unless the SPFL start calling games off going by forecasts, without waiting to see how the pitch looks, but I dare say fans wouldn't be happy with that either.

Personally i'm not too optimistic on the game going ahead but i'll have my fingers crossed and will be looking out for twitter updates Sat Morning.

Whithout seeming to have a go at the club which beleive me im not it may be possible for the club to give us some kind of indication as to the prospects of Saturdays game going ahead although i realise its in the lap of the gods weather wise.Reckon if this gets called off the league may ask questions if this is an ongoing situation.that said in hindsight i sicerely hope the game gets the nod though i seriously doubt it.

This game will be off. But if it's on: Livingston 3. Stenhousemuir 0. FG 26 mins.

Pitch inspection called, it hasn't stopped raining all through the night so it isn't looking good. Forecast is heavy rain up till 12pm then for it to dry up in the afternoon, but it'll be too late by then. A decision will have to be made by 10 or 11 am.

10am the pitch inspection, if it is even close the ref will prob call it off, as there is going to be at least another 2 hours of rain forecast.

That's where the reverse of Tuesday can occur, the game gets called off but the decision is essentially too early because the weather change materialises, things dry out quicker than expected & suddenly you find it could have been played after all.

Not saying that would be the case today, it's been wet in one form or another all week, so drying out would need some enormous hair dryers!

Hampden next week before we'll get a game then, read their pitch isn't great either but would imagine it'll still be playable.

Hopefully results will go our way today without us playing, an Airdrie win or a draw with them and Alloa would see us 11 points clear with a game in hand, mon Airdrie.

Albion Rovers v QP postponed as well, at least we're not the only ones with a soggy pitch.

It's the first time since boxing day that i'm completely cold free, either had a sore throat, a cough, a runny nose, or all 3 for the last two and a bit months. Isn't the best of days for sitting on a plastic seat for a couple of hours though, so at least i'll stay nice and warm today.

Alloa won, we should beat Stenny so no real damage done, just have to hope East Fife take points off Alloa in their midweek game now. And hopefully Brechin give QP a really tough game before we play them next Sat too.

If things go Alloa's way we could have our lead cut to 3 points next Saturday.

Good point Orco! Can't afford any complacency or slip ups. All well and good saying "we should beat Stenny" it's a completely different matter to go out and do it, just say "No!!!!" to Mr Complacency
