Post by Liviforever Tue Dec 05, 2017 2:09 pm

Livi and the 3 teams just below us all have tricky ties this Sat, but if we can win this game there's a good chance we'll open up a wee gap on most of them.

We need to look after ourselves first though and get the 3 points against a tough Dumbarton. Would think Mullen will be fit by now, so Mullen and Toddy/Mackin up front and we'll score a couple of goals. Penrice back in too would be good, we missed him against St Mirren, he'll be away back to Partick Th soon so need to make the most of him whilst he's here.

    ..                              Alexander

    ..             Gallagher          Halkett          Lithgow

    ..Mullin        Byrne           Pittman        Jacobs          Penrice

    ..                     Mullen        Toddy/Mackin

    .Subs: Rafa   Cadden   Toddy/Mackin

Livi to win 2-1, fg 18 mins.

Mon the Lions, lets do this.cheers

Dumbarton have been a bit of a bogie team for us in recent years. I hope that is reversed this season. They owe us for several bits of good fortune they have benefitted from in a few games between us

Hope not Orco, we could do with getting this game out of the way, or the games will start piling up. Just have to see if there is a pitch inspection tomorrow before heading through.

I see we're asking for volunteers Sat morning to help put the covers down, busy week coming up with the Falkirk midweek game after our home game with Morton next Sat. Could do with getting both home games played to bring some dosh into the club, it has been very sporadic recently with games only being played every two weeks.

Find myself agreeing with Orcos sentiments on this one about the weather being the only winner tommorow.Shame as i am planning to go through for this one.The Dumbarton guys on P&B are saying there are no covers down and its baltic through there. If ever there was a need for an early inspection its this one as even their own fans are not too opptimistic of this getting the go ahead. They have a simmilar problem to us in that part of their ground never gets the sun according to them and thus will be Rock hard pardon the pun.In the unlikely scenario that this game goes ahead i feel we might be a wee bit rusty and on that preface i wouldnt be to dissapointed with a point here and get to hell out of the place.Longjohns and thermals the order of the day methinks.

At least you and i got the prediction right Orco.Seriously i think deep down most of us knew that this didnt have a chance in hell of going ahead.Even their own fans are going ballistic on other forums.Seems both clubs have a simmilar lack of communication between themselves and their respective fans.Ach well another cold midweek game beckons Yippee.

We should try and get it rearranged for Tuesday because the weather next Friday night ahead of the Morton game is -2°C.

Caley and Falkirk have rearranged theirs for Tuesday.

    Damn you frosty weather.

We'll soon see if putting covers down helps protect the pitch from frost next Sat Orco, we're meant to have been putting ours down this morning.

So the games to keep an eye on today are

    Morton v Utd

    Pars v QoS.

Both having draws would be good, or even a Utd win, that would keep us 3rd in the league with 2 games in hand.

Looking no bad just now, Morton down 1-0 to Utd and Dunfermline are only a goal behind against Queens, if they can just get an equaliser it'll have been a perfect day for us results wise.

Bonus is Brechin being 1-1 with St Mirren but they have a tendency to lose a late goal, then again they managed a draw against Utd so you never know. And St Mirren score with a penalty just as I was typing this. Smile

Pars 2 QoS 5 - it's a strange old league when you consider we lost at East End but won comfortably at Palmerston.

Set our starting line up all wrong in that Pars game Bertie, nullify their wingers and they're knackered, 2nd half we did so but the damage was done. They aren't very good at delivering crosses either but we kept on allowing them to cut inside and have shots in the first half, instead of showing them down the line.

Hopefully we can get the game on against Morton or we're going to have a big backlog of games being played midweek.

I went to see The Pars v QoS to get my football fix. It was a really good game to watch as a neutral with 7 goals in all. Queens played so much better than they did against us a couple of weeks ago. They could actually have won by a greater margin. Steven Dobbie was on fire. He really is a skillful player who can read a game. But they all played well. They closed Dunfermline down all over the park.

I didn't really care who won. A draw would have been ideal but hey ho. If we take something from our games in hand we will be back up there.

Feel as if we've hardly played a league game the last 2 months, it has been very sporadic, with a week off, then a cup game, and a couple of postponements due to frost. What makes it worse is our last game being a defeat away to St Mirren on a Tues night, you just want to get onto the next game as quickly as possible to get a win and put the defeat behind us, but we keep having the bloody weather knackering us.

It is looking pretty good for us though, 2 games in hand and still in the top 4, and if we could even get 4 points from those 2 games we'd be 6 points clear of 5th place.

That's the point though... It's a fine line between success and failure, whether it's the tactics, the attitude or just plain bad luck, on any given day every team can beat any other in the division, even Brechin can be a handful. It's what makes our division exciting & less predictable.

It is going to be a different game from the one we would've played back when this was first scheduled, i'm not too confident of us winning now.

On a positive note, Dumbarton drew 0-0 with Falkirk too, and haven't scored a goal in their last 2 games either, a 0-0 could be on the cards, and tbh i'd take a draw just now as it would put us into 3rd place.

I'll go for an unfathomable 1-0 Livi win, as I have no clue where we're going to get a goal from, and FG 56 mins.

Unfortunately cant make this game due to family commitments. In the event that this beats the weather i would tend to agree with L/F that a point gained at their ground would be a welcome boost to our moral at the moment.Their hard to beat on their own patch as some of their results have proved however hopefully this bug will have subsided enough for us to have a go at them and get a favourable result for us.Wrap up well its gonna be baltic if its on.Cmon Livi!!!
