He's still the Chairman but it doesn't look good when he's no longer got shares.

MCL, do you know if someone bought his shares or did he just give them up?

It just says they were transferred so no idea. I would assume he would have to get something for them, even if it's just added onto his loan to the club.

noticed in yesterday's press that the SFA hearing was meant to be today and that McDougall was all set to attend, but the SFA have now postponed it until the end of the month. It also said the SFA were asking for an explanation for the statement on the website about the payments to previous players etc.

    In summary

The Scottish FA will present their case to a judicial panel, after various delays, on October 22. A guilty verdict on any count will see a punishment meted to Livingston, rather than Mr Rankine himself.

Had to laugh at him being at the East Fife's owner's house. Looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights for the first time ever.

Yep he was caught with his trousers down there, so to speak. It all comes back on Livi though, not him, it will be the club that gets hit with the punishment if he's found guilty.

Nothing decided at the hearing today, due to sheer volume of evidence there will be a second session which is due to be November 7th.

You'd think if it were then it would be over by now. Having this drag on isn't great but it must mean it isn't clear-cut, Rankine has a rep of a slippery character I'd imagine he's got a well prepared case in his defence and it has taken the wind out of the SFA's sails. Those bassas prob thought it would be straight forward and just a matter of presenting their case then dishing out a punishment.

Hope this is just media pish but I read the SPFL may be hitting us with a points deduction for Nixon's tax case. Brilliant if they do, between Rankine and Nixon they've knackered us this season, even if Rankine gets off with his case, him grassing up Nixon is going to relegate us if we get a points deduction.

I don't see what the issue is, if we're up to date now and are negotiating towards this tax which we declared ourselves.

A points deduction would be completely unnecessary.

A points deduction hits the fans and the players who have nothing to do with how the club is run. A fine is more appropriate since it hits the directors' pockets.

Relegation hits their pockets too, more severely than a fine would but I agree with you Orco, why should the players and fans get hit due to directors being idiots. Doubt the authorities care about that though.

Its what happened to Rangers though. Everyone thought it was ok for them but when it affects our own club well that's a different matter. Double standards from all of us me thinks.

Yeah as Mozam said, they weren't relegated they were liquidated and started up as The rangers and had to enter from the 3rd div. Livi on the other hand got punted down into the 3rd for going into admin with their catch 22 have to pay a bond nonsense when they knew our club was under the administrators control and Livi5 weren't allowed to put the bond up.

Dundee didn't get punted down a couple of divisions fro their admin, they survived a points deduction and got promoted the next again season, now that's double standards.

If we went into admin then I'd expect a points deduction, but for not paying tax on bonuses a fine would be fairer as it's the bloody directors who have done this so hit the club with a fine so they have to pay it. They'll just stick it onto directors loans anyway.

If it was Nixon operating without the blessing of the rest of the board...they ought to "do" him & slap our lot's wrists for being daft enough not to know what was going on.

Just posted match predictions for Saturday on the Alloa thread, but feel that before then we actually have a far more important date. Friday is the second day of evidence in the matter of Rankine having involvement in more than one club. Scunnered is probably an apt description off how I feel about the whole thing, an I think Friday could put the tin lid on it.

I'm hoping with the AS getting a makeover and a couple of functions being put on that it is a good sign, in that Rankine has got his shit together and will blow their evidence out the water.

He looked well dodgy in that news clip of him in the woman's hoose when they took him by surprise, but he's had plenty time to get prepared for this hearing and he's a slippery fecker.
