Can't say the news that Raffa has gone to Patrick on loan excited me. They are saying it's to get him fit. Can he not get fit here? Gary has never really seen the best of him. I hope he does well at Patrick. He's been great for Livi and could be again.

Re: Raffa to Partick
Seemed a bit strange that we extended his contract by a year and then sent him out on loan for a year.
I suppose on the plus side; we can pull him back at Christmas if needed i.e. when the injuries start to mount up?

Yeah he hasn't had a chance at Livi since his injury and Holt took charge, even last season he didn't get some decent game time when we were safe in the last 5 games.
Disappointing as Raffa is a cracking player that offers something different, really intelligent with guile that can turn games. Hope the fact he's signed an extension means we're looking to get him back in January once he's match fit at Partick th.

Re: Raffa to Partick
At almost 32 he still has really good fitness if maybe not the speed of his youth (says the guy thirty years his senior).
His footballing brain is probably one of the best in the team but maybe more game time will keep him sharp.
Incidentally I see Robbie Winters is still playing at the tender age of 44.

Aye, disappointed he has gone on loan but given his lack of game time it may be good for him.

Re: Raffa to Partick
Makes me wonder why he can't just get games for us though, he's had the pre season training the same as everyone else, getting physically fit, why hasn't he had more game time in Friendlies*, and Betfred games?
Would see the sense in doing this last season for fitness after his injury, instead of having to play in reserves, which would've gotten him ready for this season, but I really don't see what the club are thinking of now. Only really makes sense from Raffa's pov, he isn't getting games, so is kicking his heels, and it must be frustrating for him so he has approached the club to give him a loan move so he can play games again.
Is he going to be in the same position after his loan spell though, I bloody hope not, and we get both him and Dolly back in Jan to give us a boost in the run in. Hopefully pushing for a top 6 spot again, and getting it this time.
*Checking on pre season games, feck me Maley has had more game time than Raffa. I was actually looking for us to get Raffa on in the 2nd half against Falkirk, thought he's just what we were needing to get the win against them.
