The Pars New Manager Empty The Pars New Manager

Post by orco Fri Nov 12, 2021 11:01 am

I see Yogi Hughes got the gig. That will be an interesting one to watch. The Pars fans seem delighted with the appointment.
I will never forget the nightmare of Dunfermline 4 Livi 0 as Andy McNeill in goals continually passed out from the back as instructed and the Pars continually intercepted the ball. It didn't change the whole game.
Never forgave him either for pushing Bobby Barr out the door to the division below on loan to East Fife.
He talks the talk right enough. Did well with Ross County but nearly caused a mutiny at Raith. Which Yogi will turn out? Interesting.

Missed this with all the Gerrard coverage.

Yogi to do a Fife double, having already been relegated as Raith manager, and now relegating Dunfermline to League One.

One of the most overrated guys in Scottish football, thug of a player who somehow got a move to Celtic, probably because they were getting bullied by 9-in-a-row Rangers. Was found out soon enough though punted on to Hibs after only 31 games.

Credit where it is due he always gave 100% on the pitch but he really wasn’t that good a player & his style was the antithesis of how he tries to get his teams playing as a manager.

Hope he fails spectacularly at Dunfermline.

Pars fans falling into the trap, thinking his experience will keep them up, he really isn't the manager you want at a struggling club, esp if players are low in confidence.

Just in the door and his first press conference calling his players a laughing stock and soft touches. yeah that'll help build their confidence. Laughing

Players low in confidence and struggling to win games, and Hughes will invite pressure onto them with his playing it out from the back style of football.

He was at Raith when Hughes took over too, would've been hilarious if Bobby Barr was also at Dunfermline when Hughes got named their manager. lol! Read the Pars have a similar player to Barr, Dom Thomas, likes to do his own thing and take players on, that will soon be hit on the head, East Fife on loan playing incoming.

There isn't a right gig for him as a football manager though Troy, how he keeps getting jobs is a mystery, if he was decent at all the Ross County Chairman would surely have kept him on after keeping them up, tells its own story that they got rid as soon as the season was over.

Raith Chairman sent a message not to touch him with a 10 foot barge pole when some club was looking at appointing him a few seasons ago, his cronies in the media keep bigging him up though, and for some reason football owners keep giving him a job.

Falkirk and Dunfermline's demise is pretty entertaining to see though, 2 clubs with billy big baws fans you love seeing having spells in league one (hopefully Dunfermline will be joining Falkirk there next season) to give them some deserved humbling (prob still having crowd wanks down there too right enough, which makes it all the funnier seeing Falkirk really struggling).

Would be hilarious if Pars go down & Kelty come up & then give the Pars a few shoeings next season.

Yeh,totally Bertie.I know we should be concentrating on ourselves, but it is food for thought should that scenario materialise. Yogis had more clubs than Tiger Woods and I honestly can't see him Keeping them up,but you never know. With all the shenanigens over at Falkirk atm with hardly any board and Sheerin on an extremely shoogly peg its gonna be so interesting watching this unfold. But as you say, hilarious 😆.
