Auld Nick wrote:Watching the highlights just now….

Opening goal… poor defending by Noobs but George “dives on the spot” and should have made more of an effort to keep it out.

Terrific hit from Bruce for the equaliser

Second Killie goal… those sort of deliveries used to be bread and butter for our defenders.

Very good pen from Kelly but what was Stokes thinking about with his arms so wide

Winner… laughable og from Stokes but brilliant play by Bruce & Montano to cause it.

Bruce and Montano were game changers, Brucies energy chasing balls down almost caught their keeper out, and persistence robbing the ball back set up Montano for the cross that got us the og winner. Jacko was doing ok defensively but just doesn't give us the attacking runs down the wing Montano does. And our first goal, i hope that isn't a one off, and Bruce takes a lot more shots from outside the box, something we've been lacking for most of this season. Nouble and Bahamboula give us guile and wizardry down the wings, but Bruce is the key part we've been missing, someone to stick the ball in the net.

orco wrote:That was a hard watch but I stuck with it. I hope they work on crosses into the box before the next game. After some solid defending against Rangers and Celtic they surprisingly allowed the same Killie player two free headers.
Great to see that the heads didn't go down though so full credit for the fight back. Glad to see Bruce getting on the scoresheet too. What a goal. Let's hope he kicks (!) on from here. First positive VAR experience too. The game had it all. Looks as if Greig Aitken did his best making the ref have a look at the penalty incident but it seemed to be a definite hand ball

We are in a good position now. A win against Aberdeen on Tuesday would be glorious and make up for the hammering they gave us at Pittodrie. Mon the Livi!

Dunno about solid defending against Celtic, it was Fitzwater at fault for the marking, or lack of for one of their goals too, and the 2nd Killie goal last night. Can't remember what game it was (might've been the St Mirren away game) but Nouble was the culprit for losing his man at a set piece and again last night for Killie's 1st goal. Against Sevco though we mopped up high balls into our box all day long.

Fitz needs to get back up to speed and sharpen up though, 2 games in a row he's been caught out and lost us goals.

Aye Aitken must've been gutted not being able to highlight a red card for us, Kelly was walking a tightrope grabbing hold of a shirt after being booked though.

Aye hopefully Sevco get their shit together and gub St Johnstone, and the Hearts v Motherwell game is a draw, both Sunday games. The games today don't really trouble us much, should be a routine win for Celtic against Dundee Utd to keep the gap over Utd at 10 pts, and maybe a draw with County v St Mirren would best suit us, so we're only a point behind St Mirren, and 9 pts above County.

If those results come in it'll be a pretty great weekend for us.

I’d take a County win over Saints especially if it swung the GD in our favour so we go above them.

That's an unusually cavalier attitude from you Auld Nick, and for once i'm going the other way and being more reserved.

There's still a long way to go in the season and us keeping a big gap from the bottom two teams seems more prudent at this stage.

Just one more goal from County and we’d have gone 5th… pity.

Aye if County had to win they might've at least won by 2 goals to put us above St Mirren. Tied on GD with them as well as pts, but we've scored 2 less goals, so they're still above us. Just need to get revenge on the sheep and pump them on Tues now and we'll be right in the mix for a top 4 spot. That 5-0 humping up there has really screwed our GD though.

Hopefully Hearts draw with Motherwell today so we stay above both of them too.

Not looking good for us in the St Johnstone game, 2-1 up against Sevco going into injury time. Relying on Sevco to do what they did to us and get an equaliser in the 92nd min.

Rangers looked devoid of ideas in injury time.

All the more gutting we couldn't manage to hold on in injury time against them and get 3pts too, St Johnstone moving up into 5th place on GD.

Hearts getting an 89th min pen to score and win 3-2, results just didn't go our way at all today, as we moved down the table to 8th.

Thank goodness we won our game though (and didn't lose), or we'd have still been on 16 pts, below Motherwell also on 16 pts, and only a point ahead of 10th placed Killie (if they'd beaten us), and 4 pts ahead of 11th placed County, it was a massive result for us getting the win.

If we keep winning our own games it won't matter what the rest do. Two drawn games today would have been good though.
I was in the very strange position (for me) of willing Rangers to score. Shocked

Yeah, I love it when any team beats the ugly sisters but it doesn’t help us when they do.

Looking very much like a one horse race for the title, with the other erse cheek taking 2nd prize, nothing in it between the next 7 teams, and a three horse race down the bottom in the relegation battle. 2 or 3 wins can can change all of that though, so we do indeed need to take care of our own business and string a few wins together to get ourselves right on up into the top 6 places and well away from the bottom 6 ones. Would be shuge if we win our next 2 games against the sheep and jam tarts.

See Ange Postecoglou moaning about the Dundee United penalty on Saturday. He was the beneficiary of an even more ridiculous decision against us last Sunday.
Mind you I think these penalty decisions are descending into the ridiculous now. Whatever happened to ball plays man?
I think the original concept of a penalty award would have been to correct a situation in which a definite goal scoring opportunity was denied. Some of these hand balls in the penalty box are nowhere near goal opportunities.
    It's aw wrong! Rolling Eyes

Aye the Celtic one was ridiculous, at least the one against them was actually heading towards the net, so the hand ball stopped it getting there. Martindale seem far more magnanimous of decisions going against us than other managers when it happens to them though.
