Kille's defence looks pretty solid, 6 clean sheets and a 3-1 defeat to Celtic being their only defeat in their last 7 games. Several 0-0 draws in there too, so like us recently, they've not been great at finding the net. Basically all we need to do is score 2 goals and we'll have it won. lol!

Hopefully this fortnight off will have given us the time to get everyone back fit, and maybe even see Pitts at some point, coming on in the 2nd half to net the winning goal would be ideal.

This will be tricky, they have had some decent results & some not so decent results so hopefully it’s their not decent results side that turns up.

We also have the strong possibility of back to earth with a bump after the high of beating the champs.

I’d be happy with a draw

You'd think the Celtic win would be out of their system by now, we should be right up for this game after a fortnight kicking our heels.

A draw could potentially put us up into 4th place, with Aberdeen away to Motherwell and Ross County away to Celtic. Still hope we win though, but a draw would be a decent result away from home.

But if it’s out of their system it could lead to that bump. They need to play with the swagger of the team that bested the champs.

Make your mind up Bertie, first post was to come down with a bump, now they're needing to have their feet off the ground still and playing with swagger. Is that so they can come down with a bump? Laughing

Just play their usual game of grafting hard closing opposition players down and getting stuck in to win their personal battles, and the rest will follow.

What I mean is, that game should tell them they are good enough to beat anyone if they keep performing to that level. There is a tendency in football (not just with us) to drop off after a big result.

When I watched the game back there were a few guys playing with a bit of swagger. Dykes in particular, he loved noising up their central defenders & Broony & at the same time kept cool when they tried to wind him up. He needs to harness that every game.

So yes keep doing what we are good at, but don’t drop a level, keep the intensity up.

If Dykes can cut out the silly bookings it'll help too, he's always going to get the odd yellow card because of his playing style, being so competitive to win the ball against defenders, but he's had quite a few needles cards too. It cost us against Sevco for his first silly booking (still think we were right in with a chance of getting a draw in that game with Dykes on the pitch), and even more so when he was out for the Aberdeen game serving his suspension.

I see Killie have signed Simeon Jackson today, he had an influence in St Mirren's 3-1 win over us last season, although Halkett being red carded had a bigger influence.

You know what,i think for the first time in recent years i reckon we are on an even keil to Kilmarnock and in that respect the journey down to Rugby Park should hold no fears for us tommorow.Yes it will be tough but i really like the way Gary has us playing at the moment, though as others have said Killie have had a decent start to the season and will be no pushovers especially on their own patch.Icertainly wouldnt be too upset in taking a point from this although 3 would be terrific. Not sure about the injury situation after the international break but hopefully those players concerned are nearing full fitness and will add to an already impressive squad we have at the moment.Any way good luck to gary and the lads tommorow and get right intea them .Mon the Lions.

2-0 Killie, still not completely out of it if we can get a goal back within the next 10 mins.

Confused by our substitutions, Lithgow for Lawless, have we gone 2 goals behind and shoring up our defence for damage limitation? Confused.com.

Robbo off for Miller, so Miller and Dykes partnership up front.

    2-1 Killie FT, pisser.

At least Accies got a draw with Hibs, the Saints derby didn't go so well though, with St Mirren picking up their 2nd win of the season, to close the gap to 3 points on us.

Gutted, deserved better.First half an hour well in it.Had chances but not taken.Gave ourselves a lifeline but too late in the second half. Results else where kinda went for us.But got toget that Celtic result to fire us on.With the chances we had today dissapointed we came away with nothing to show for our endevours.Kinda seems even this early we are gonna get dragged intio this pish at the bottom end of the table when we could have made it a lot easier for ourselves.Thoughts guys,or am i wrong.Frustated.

Acht Rugby Park has never been kind to us Troy. We'll hammer them at the Tony Macaroni.
Got no breaks today and Sarkic hardly had a save to make. Killie are divers and McLean fell for it every time. Should have had a penalty which had we scored would have given us the draw we deserved.

We've had a few games already where we've dropped points that we shouldn't have, and it feels a bit frustrating looking back at all the missed opportunities that should have seen us up around Aberdeen and Motherwell. Still, we've 2 games to go till we've played everyone, if we can get at least 4 points from Hibs & Hearts games we'll be in good shape.

The good thing to remember too, even if we don't match up to last season's fantastic start, up till Xmas, we've a big margin on which we can improve on after the Winter break. We dropped a hell of a lot of points in that period.

So it seems we are still performing well but not getting the breaks... the story of our season since results took a downturn. The only time we didn’t succumb to lady badluck was beating the champs.

Some games its been down to us not being able to finish better, others silly mistakes in defence/midfield leading to us conceding goals, and against Sevco the refereeing decisions had a huge influence in both defeats.

Think we saved up our finishing for the Celtic game, both goals were brilliantly taken, but we need to be a bit more consistent there, a goal makes all the difference in a game, it lifted Killie getting the first goal. Still think getting Pittman back would make a huge difference in that score though, he's the best finisher we have from midfield, prob better than any of our strikers too. Wonder when the feck he'll be back though, was hoping he'd have made a sub appearance yesterday.

Good to see Miller make his 2nd sub appearance in a row, and get a goal too, he'll maybe fill that role Gallagher left from Lithgow's throw ins, Miller is pretty good as a target man from set pieces.
