Re: First Team 23-24
So weve just signed Liberian internationalist midfielder Mo Sangare from League One Accrington Stanley. Don't know much about him but Davie rates him, that'll do for me.2 year deal with an option for a 3rd.Fingers crossed.Apparently a direct replacement for Omeonga.

Re: First Team 23-24
3rd signing Miles Welch-Hayes arriving yesterday, RB/RWB, seems to be a squad filler, 26yo with decent level of experience in English lower leagues, but Martindale is still looking for a RB to replace Nicky Devlin. That reads like neither Brandon or Welch-Hayes is deemed our first choice RB/RWB, and both will have to show they're good enough for it.
Hopefully we get Guthrie and Goncalves off the wage bill soon, so Martindale can do some more business and sign a striker and RB.
“Miles knows there’s going to be competition in that area of the park and we’ve still got Jamie Brandon but I’ve got my eye on a right-back. I’m looking to do some business in the right-back area and the forward areas but I need to try and move some players on - that’s football.

Re: First Team 23-24
Yep,agree L/F.Micky Devlin would be the closest to starting for us imo.Sangare I suspect will have to work his way into the team, and as you say Miles will probably end up a squad player as opposed to starting lineup. At least we're getting players in,albeit not household names. But that had to be expected considering the markets we're dealing in.Hopefully one or two in to come, and I agree the two positions mentioned are a priority. .

Re: First Team 23-24
As it stands we could line up something like this.
Shamal
Brandon Obileye Devlin Montano
Holt Sangare
Bradley Pittman Kelly
Anderson
Or as going by the friendlies and we're going with a back 3, in a 3-4-2-1
Shamal
de Lucas Devlin Boyes
Brandon Holt Sangare Montano
Kelly Pittman
Anderson

Looks like we've signed another African player, Aphelele Teto, Josh Mullin type player, right winger that can play as a striker. https://vodacomsoccer.com/article/aphelele-teto-deal-is-win-win-for-scottish-club-livingston-and-ts-galaxy

Re: First Team 23-24
If he can run rings around opposition players and help with assists by getting the ball into the box, then i don't care what height he is. Maybe help balance out Nouble getting sod all fouls because he's so big too.

Re: First Team 23-24
Well if the reports that refs don’t award Noobs fouls because he is a big lad are true then we should get hunners of fouls when the wee man plays.
I don’t care what height he is either as long as he’s good enough he’s old enough & big enough.
Nothing on the OCS though (surprise surprise)

Re: First Team 23-24
We wont get anything announced until it's official, they've still to get paperwork done, getting him a work permit. I think they obtained a holiday visa just to get him in the Country, then it's easier to get things moving on the rest of what needs done. Could be a couple of months before it's all sorted though, depends how quickly the Govt responds to us sending them the application. Good old Brexit makes it more complicated bringing foreign players in.

Loan signing from Hibs, striker Dan MacKay, promising signing up front to give Bruce competition.

Re: First Team 23-24
Given he’s a winger who has also been deployed down the middle on occasion and who has scored about as many career goals as Bruce managed in half of his first season with us, I’d rather he was playing alongside Bruce than competing with him.

Re: First Team 23-24
Depends when we're needing a useful sub coming on or if Bruce's form has dipped, we've enough wingers but only one decent striker. You know what Martindale is like for playing players in positions he wants them played, rather than where they've been used to.
He seems to blow hot and cold, when he's hot, he's on fire, but can be inconsistent, according to a Caley fan on P&B, but that's why he's on loan and not in the Hibs team. Sure Bradley was the same and has done well with us. We've an option to buy him at the end of his loan deal, would imagine a nominal fee with a sell on clause would be suffice.

Re: First Team 23-24
Yeah, Bradley has done well when he gets a game, which is hardly ever & his early promise of looking interested in taking on players in the way Forrest used to has dimmed. Almost like it’s been coached out of him. Seems to me that when we get players in with a bit of bravado in their game (Souda, Forrest, Bradley) it seems to get discouraged as they never seem to do it for longer than half a season. Even Forrest found himself on the bench a lot when we could have used his pace. Noobs seems to be the exception but then he has a bit of versatility in that he can be the hold up man as well as the creative spark.

Re: First Team 23-24
Officially a Livi player now… but still no work permit, which means he can only get game time by being loaned out to an African side. He’s on a 4 year contract though, so plenty of time to not see him ever play in the first team… my understanding of work permits was that the only guys that got them were recognised as being a player who gets a regular game for their national team. Presumably that has changed or this will be a complete waste of a contract and a literal wasted shirt. Could be the most pointless signing we’ve ever made if we don’t get the work permit.

Aye welcome to Livingston Teto, now off you pop back to Africa.
Hopefully we get everything sorted for him to come back in the January window, for the 2nd half of the season.

Another young African in the squad; 19 year old midfielder, Samson Lawal.
Wonder how he got a work permit when Teto didn’t.

Meets the criteria with him playing in Nigeria's U20 WC team that reached the quarter final. If Teto gets a call up and plays for his Country he'd get it no problem. Or will have to play a certain amount of games for a top African team on his loan deal, before reapplying in January, or nothing will have changed.
Lawal looks a good prospect, plenty experience and has a good pedigree. Teto is more of an unknown, possible gem of a player.
