Bumped into someone at Grand Cenral last Saturday night who was a pal of Pittman and he told me that Pittman was wanted by Partick and Hamilton but is more than happy being at Livingston beyond this season just because of how close to home he is.

There's Scott Pittman and Rafa De Vita signed for an extra 1 year and 2 years respectively.

Great start to the weekend.

Excellent news, can see Rafa scoring the winner against Ross County in the play offs final if we get them, with him playing for them a few years back.

Absolutely delighted with this but would have liked Pittman to have gotten 2 years too.

Jordan Thompson has been released by Sevco, could be our first new signing. Would certainly have a point to prove in games against them next season.

I see the news papers were reporting that he left the rangers rather than being released; presumably turning down another contract.

Surely you'd only do that if you already had another deal on the table?

Unfortunately I cant see how it could be us as the only person to really head that one up would be the manager and, as far as I'm aware, Hopkins hasn't agreed a renewal of his contract yet.

Also see that Thompson has been chosen for a place in the NI senior squad ahead of their next international so that will probably make him even more marketable.

I was impressed by Thompson's performance in the playoffs; but is also concerning that he only seemed to "up" his performance once the games were being televised. That has undoubtedly made him a lot more marketable.

Personally I can't help wondering if he's already in advanced negotiations with an English championship side; certainly Fulham and Aston Villa have been very active in the market of late (for obvious reasons)

All that being said he did seem really genuine in his celebrations on Sunday so who knows...

I'm a wee bit like Hoppy in this respect. It's important to me that our players want to be here. Thomson showed he was not bad in the play offs but tbh he didn't impress me as much Penrice or Hardie over the piece.
There is great cameraderie among this group of players. I'm hoping they value this as much as a move to a bigger club. There is nothing worse than being unhappy at work and for a footballer every move is a gamble. Sometimes the devil you know.....and all that

These 3 would be good, along with Gallagher, Byrne and Pittman, that core group of players to build around again would see us alright.

Wouldn't have Harkins over Byrne or Pittman in the SPFL Championship team of the year though.

I think the max players they can have from any one team is 3 - A lot of Celtic fans arguing about them having the same issue with the Premiership Team. Harkins is a weird one... rest of the team is about right - though I'd have had Gallagher in for Ashcroft as well - Livi back 4!

The Falkirk seethe would be worth it alone.

He's a good player but seemed stuck in a rut, just the kind of player Hoppy likes to bring out his potential, should be a good signing if it happens.

Martindale’s use of “we” may suggest that Sibbald was a Hoppy target... if so & the signings continue to be so, that may suggest Hoppy closer to staying than leaving.

My god that hasnt half cheered me up no end.On his day a cracking player who ive rated for some time.Always thought he would move to a bigger club than us in time as hes still so young.Kind of makes me wonder if hes gonna be a replacement for someone but who knows.Suspect big Miller may have had a word in his ear.Not looking forward to seeing my Falkirk loving boss in the morning as most of their fans are absolutly seething at this news.Anyways looking forward to seeing him run out on our new 4g pitch in Livingston colours.Well done Livi !!!

The club statement on Hoppy:

The club will continue to push on with pre-season schedule and our player recruitment with the help of the coaching staff at the club.

As good as their word then, I think Hoppy will have planned to target signings as if he is staying, but it wont be certain till he signs himself. For now it looks like he'll be staying, hopefully nothing new appears to change his mind.
