Well it seems to me that the functionality of VAR is just not fit for purpose.
First you get the ridiculous decision to allow Rangers first goal against us, then you get the debacle in the Spurs v Liverpool game, then the failure to send off the City player against Arsenal and now you get VAR declaring a foul on the keeper ( which there wasn’t - if there was Simon and his team mates would have gone berserk ) then 10 minutes later declaring it was actually offside. Now, let’s say he was offside, he didn’t touch the ball so it then becomes a case of “did he interfere with the keeper’s chance to save it?” - if that’s a yes, then why did Simon not claim it? The fact of the matter is that the entire Spanish team accepted the on-field decision passively because they knew it was a good goal, they only began to be animated when the ref headed for the screen… and if it was an offside decision, why did he need to go to the screen? They never do that. If it was an offside decision why did he point for a free kick rather than raise his arm and signal a line to indicate offside?
How did the keeper get away with cleaning out McGinn?
How did Laporte get away with multiple offences?
The entire refereeing display should be called into question because of how one sided his decisions were.
Scotland put in very good defensive performance & scored an outstanding goal which would have changed the game completely if it had been allowed.
In the end Spain scored twice after the scare of the disallowed goal because they upped the tempo and scored a good goal and then capitalised on an unfortunate slip; but if our goal had stood they may not have recovered.
So on to Norway v Spain & I would love to see it end all square as that would give us a great chance of winning the group.
