Right...the Cowdenbeath game Empty Right...the Cowdenbeath game

Post by Lexi Collector Thu Apr 09, 2015 12:51 am

Right then lads, all of a sudden this has become a huge game, and after 2 great performances and results we can go in with confidence. First things first, Cowdenbeath is utter grim. Just look at that ground of theirs, it looks horrendous. I've always said 'I'll never go to Cowdenbeath", in fact I said this to a Falkirk fan as recently as Saturday. Fuck that, I'm going to this, it's fucking huge and I'm buzzing. Hoping for a big support, make loads of noise, let em know we're here and show this lot who's boss.

Cowdenbeath are fucking shite, we should be miles above them in the table when you look at our squad. Considering the buzz of the squad and fans and the size of the game this is, and what's to play, I fancy us.

    2-1, 'mon Livi.

It will be tough. Cowdenbeath seem to be picking up some form. But fuck 'em. Livi gonna win 3-1.

Don't like all this positivity from you Lexi, you're gonna jinx us, if Bertie comes on and predicts us winning then that's it, we'll def get beat. Laughing

Like you I never thought I'd ever go to that dump but really swaying towards going to this. I'l try and stay grounded for my prediction as we could give them a right stuffing but as they've picked up a couple of good results too i'll go for 2-0 Livi, fg 37 mins.

Horrendous goals against but sometimes they are quite hard to break down and I've a feeling they'll all be behind the ball parking the bus in this game knowing a draw would do them.

Much though I hate to say it we probably need to put someone on to mark Colin Nish. He's hit a wee bit of form but suspect Kyle can cope with pretty much anything on the ground; although maybe Burton is the better option.

Other than that I think the back pairing of Gallagher and Cole is shaping up to be far better than Watson and Barr. Hippolyte should run their right back ragged.

Kn owing the state of the central park pitch I was concerned that Mullen and Pittman wouldn't be able to play the ball on the ground but then I remembered only a few weeks back Pittman was playing in the Junior league - if they try the strong armed stuff we've got Boulding and/or White to counter.

Don't see the pitch as really suiting Sekajja's game though. That being said it might be that the central park pitch doesn't really suit Nish either - his only goal there has been a header.

Hate going to Cowdenbeath's awful excuse of a stadium but I'll be there on Saturday, massive game.

Cowden have found some form themselves and will go into this looking for a win as they'll know they're not safe yet. Think I'd go with the same 11, would be tempted to bring someone on to win the ball in the air but don't think anyone last night done anything to merit being dropped.

Should be a good game with both teams right up for it, 2-1 Livi, FG 17 mins.

Does anyone know if any of our players are likely to be suspended?

EDIT: Not sure but it looks like Hippolyte; Gallagher and Kyle Jacobs are most at risk of suspension however not for another 14 days (Hibs match?)

No suspensions for the Cowden game, think Talbot's suspended for the Hibs game though.

Yeehaaaaaa, back to back league wins and 3 wins on the trot incl the cup final, we're on a run here.

First time we got the ball down and passed it through midfield up to the box and we scored, fantastic team goal and shows what we can do when we string some passes together.

Wee Danny was unlucky hitting the post with a shot on the turn before White got his and our 2nd goal, superb from the big fella. Really hyped up geeing up the fans when he scored too, and all the team coming over to the fans at FT was like another cup final win. Keep it going lads, we can do it. cheers cheers

They are shite. I think 6 points will have us safe, provided Alloa don't go on a run.

8 points would make it very, very difficult for the other teams.

Raith seem to be on a downward spiral and if Queens make the play offs they could be resting players against us, and there's still every chance of us taking something from Hibs/Sevco... Going to be very difficult but still a chance of us staying up!

Anyone got any idea why Talbot got booked?

Talbot took a throw in as a Cowden player was on the ground 'injured' and the ref stopped the game to let him get treatment, so Talbot had to take the throw in again. The ref had a word with Talbot about something as he was trying to take the throw in, then when he walked away Talbot took the throw in and the ref ran over and booked him. Talbot then took the throw in and the game went on. Have no idea what that was all about and why he booked Talbot.

Jordan White's passion makes it so much more easier to forgive his shortcomings as a player. I actually thought he, and the rest of the team, were dung for the first half but if your striker's scoring two a game you can't complain. Deserved win, and I thought the fans were excellent. At least half the crowd was us, sounded like a lot more!

I think we might just do it. I really feel like the players believe it will happen.

I think we can do it as we are now the best in form team over the last three league games.

I have to say Hippos assists ,Whites goals and the noisy support from the fans over the past week have been different class.

Two players who the fans have many varied opinions of but they have  both shown to me and you Afro their worth to the team.

I've always had my doubt about Hippo and obviously you have had the same doubts about White, which I haven't, but as they say it's all about opinions.

Well done to both lads for going a long way to prove the doubters wrong.

The way White held off a player to get his 2nd goal was fantastic, also him and Mullen killed off quite a few minutes holding the ball up over by the corner area, both of them were getting throw in after throw in and keeping the ball up in Cowden's half. That's the way to waste time. Saying that I thought we had a great chance of a 3rd goal but the players were never going to go for it in case Cowden got a break up the pitch when we lost the ball. Showing grit and determination as well as being more savvy seeing out a game.

I think Hippo, White and Mullen are all hitting a purple patch at the same time, Boulding has made an impact when he comes on too, think it was him that gave the ball to White for our winner.

Cowden were very poor all game, can't believe they scored 6 goals in their last 2 wins, they got a lucky break against us but could never see them scoring 3 in a game. We got dragged into the punt and hunt Cowden game then decided to make a few passes and work it up through midfield and BOOOOOOOOM. Nish too was easily dealt with all game by our CB, until they did a Hippo on us and put a throw in on his napper to set up their goal.
