Re: QoS v Livi
With the inordinate amount of publicity about that tackle (!) I reckon that QoS and Russell in particular will go down every time our players go near them. And the ref of course will give them the benefit of the doubt because Livi are a dirty team. He knows this cos it was in the papers so it must be true.

Re: QoS v Livi
Looking at QoS match reports on the bbc they've racked up a fair amount of bookings themselves, Kidd is due a red card too.
Dumbarton have got Wuilie Collum, that should be interesting.

Re: QoS v Livi
Im with LF on this one but only if we play the correct players
2-1 first goal 15 mins
Its statto again with stats on our six forward players as this is where the goals will come from, and we really need them.
managers PREFERRED players this season in order
1 Buchanan 13 starts 1176 mins played 4 goals
2 Hippolyte 12 starts 1081 mins played 1 goal
3 Glen 9 starts 942 mins played 1 goal
TOTAL from top 3 preferred players: 34 starts/3199 minutes played GOALS 6
4 White 7 starts 797 mins played 3 goals
5 Mullen 7 starts 664 mins played 3 goals
6 Sheerin 5 starts 505 mins played 2 goals
TOTAL from bottom 3 preferred players starts 19 starts/ 1966 mins played GOALS 8
so Burchills preferred players have been the wrong choices as
the PRODUCTIVE players are as below in % chance to score from starts
1 Mullen 43%
2 White 43%
3 Sheerin 40%
4 Buchanan 31%
5 Glen 11%
6 Hippolyte 9%
Reading posts on here over the past few weeks , the theme was how were we playing so well and creating chances yet failing to score. I say the answer lies in the fact we have been giving the preferred players more game than the productive players.
So please Mr Burchill give the productive players starts tomorrow and more game time give the team a better chance of getting goals, also this would give Liviforever and myself some kudos for predicting a Livi win.

Your stats are interesting but there is more to goal scoring than whose boot got the touch that sent the ball into the net. They don't tell you anything about the build up to goals.

The team is threadbare and not confident in front of goal. Defensively, they've looked solid recently.

Yeah we have looked more solid at the back but we're still losing, we've kept teams from getting in our box to score but shots from outside the box have given St Mirren and Sevco their wins. I fear we need to score to give us something to build from, or at least hang on to, also think when we score it gives us that bit of confidence that relaxes us in front of goal.
Reckon we'd have to score at least one goal to even get a draw as I just don't think we'd keep it at 0-0, could see us keeping a clean sheet it we get a goal though as we'd defend our lead for our lives and prob add to our goal.
I know Faria has been getting criticism but against Sevco he gave us that bit of ugliness around midfield to break up play and make it scrappy, we kinda need more of that just now to get us points. If we can score first then that's exactly the kind of player we'll need to see out the game.
I'd go with something like this:
...................................................McCallum
......................Neill....................Gallagher.......................Gordon.............
Millen................Gibbons..................................Faria.........................Longridge
..................................................Buchanan...........................
.............................................Sheerin........White
I'd be amazed if it happens but I can always hope.

Re: QoS v Livi
352 would be good and LFs team looks ok but would have Pittman in there instead of Gibbons or Buchanan otherwise looks decent enough shout

Pittman will prob play yep, would just like to see Buchanan play in that formation once to see how it worked out, have a hunch that it would work well for us.

Re: QoS v Livi
Lf also think playing Gary Glen in that role and moving Pitman wide would be worth looking at but I do feel we look better shape wise in 352 formation. Having one up as we did at Ibrox on Tuesday and in a lot of games this season allows the opposition to attack us more and puts us in the back foot too much. 352 is much more offensive and also gives us 5 across the middle to defend well too.
Just have a feeling if he goes back to 352 playing Sheerin and White as the front two like he did on our last visit to Palmerston that we can get a result at Dumfries

Yay.
Livingston
26 McCallum
15 Neill
14 Gallagher
06 Gordon
03 Longridge
31 Glen
08 da Encarnação Pires Faria
16 Gibbons
07 Pittman
09 White
18 Sheerin
Substitutes
01 Jamieson
02 Millen
17 Georgiev
19 Buchanan
20 Currie
Was kinda predictable that Glen and Pittman would start but glad he's giving White & Sheerin a chance.

Re: QoS v Livi
Neither Duckrell or Hippolyte in the squad despite the former saying he wanted a chance this weekend in the paper and the latter being available after suspension.
Clear message from Burchill dropping them when we have two sub spaces available - no more pissing about.

Can't argue with that line-up. And well done Burchill for dropping those 2 NWA wannabes completely.

Re: QoS v Livi
4-1 Livi, I'm going to pee myself with excitement here, fecking brilliant. Big Shags set up Pittman for the first and scored the 2nd, has keep on starting now. Buchanan came on as sub and has scored the other two, great impact sub.
I actually said on the match thread on P&B we could give someone a humping, got to admit I didn't think it would be queens though.

Re: QoS v Livi
FT 4-1 Livi, buzzing.
Just my luck LIVItv have stopped filming our games when I wasn't at it and we won.
Good results in other games too, Dumbarton humped 5-1 & Alloa lost, we're up to 9th and only 3pts from StMirren & Dumbarton. Hopefully Sevco don't slip up against St Mirren.

Re: QoS v Livi
Ps. well done Burchill. Given him a lot of criticism on here, but he got EVERYTHING spot on today. The 2 Cockney jokers nowhere to be seen and Big Shags playing up top in a very attacking but stable formation. Keep that up and you can turn our season around Mr Burchill, starting TODAY

Well I was right about who would score first and only 5 mins out on the time.... But I just so love being wrong!!!
Buchanan's first goal sounds like a cracker.... Will there not be footage on the spfl website from the QoS equivalent of LivTV?
Brilliant win coupled with the other results we really couldn't have asked for much more.
Well done lads, keep it up and don't revert to last seasons score a barrow load then don't score for weeks.
