Transfer Rumours Summer 2013/14

I've seen a few players mentioned already.

Any other names heard through the grapevine? Desperately need some strikers.

If we can afford it, I desperately hope we can get a striker in. Not just back up either, someone who could play ahead of Mullen or Burchill.

My concern is the same as last year. We are looking very threadbare at the moment with no real striking options and big Mensing injured till Christmas. We need to get players in and get on with it.

A striker is a priority and some wide players wingers / fullbacks.

If don't strengthen properly, then I see us in for a long season.

Yep, I think it's a season too early for Mullen to be the main striker, he has potential to lead the line but he's still very inexperienced and this season should be about him getting some first team game time to build for the following season.

Can see us waiting for as long as possible to make all the signings we need, to save on the wage bill. Others aren't hanging about though so it's a risky strategy.

With the Elliot debacle last season I don't think the club will be making any announcements until a deal has been signed either, though twitter has made that near impossible to keep it quiet.

Would be reasonably happy with Jordan White. He seemed to hit a real patch of form at the end of last season (8 in 7), although looking at his Soccerbase stats he seems to go through spells where he'll score a few and then drop off for a while. Maybe someone more consistent is needed.

Would maybe be an idea to bring a centre back in on loan until January to cover for Mensing rather than bring someone in permanently. Purely in terms of cost.

Had a bid for Scott Ferguson of Clyde rejected, and we've signed a striker - will be announced June 23rd.

Would have liked to have held on to McNulty for another year, sadly not happened. We do need another striker that can get around 20 goals in a season.

I think Barrowman was the next highest scorer with 6.

Getting the right player to bang the goals in is probably the toughest aspect of signing new players.

Jordan Whyte seems to have the best record but it was league two, I have seen some posts from Dundee fans that seem to be a little upset that they let Christian Nade go.

I heard in about January that we'd been looking at a Berwick Rangers striker, going by the description my dad gave me it could have been Darren Lavery. Nothing seemed to come of it but might be one to look out for. Scored 15 in 32 last season, again not exactly setting the heather on fire in League 2 but he might at least be in our budget.

David Robertson signed up confirmed on the SPFL website.

Not heard a good word about him from any fan of his former teams, Morton, St Johnstone and Utd ones all in agreement that he's not very good.

With Mensing out, we've literally only got enough players to scrape together a lineup for any games at the moment, expecting a few more signings over the next few weeks. Burchill is past it, we need at least another 2 strikers in, plus some back-up in defence. Also, not sure about Robertson, thought he was awful against us last season, plus he's just been released by the team who finished bottom of the championship.. weird.

Some fella on P&B saying we're in talks with Scott Taggart. Wanted him to sign for Livi for a few years, always liked the look of him. Don't think that'd be a bad signing.

Hope we don't turn into Raith and start signing all of Morton's rejects though. Robertson is bad enough and Morton are fucking shite.

The Ferguson bid has been knocked back but McGlynn is still interested in him, so prob means we'll try another bid and see what happens.

Apparently we've signed 2 players (Robertson and A. nother), 23rd of June before it is officially going to be announced.

3 players are on our list too.

The OS has us in negotiations with 5 players as well as the 2 we've signed up.

You'd think that Robertson must have something about him to continue to play at such a high level for so long. Local boy with something to prove after a horrendous time at Morton, hopefully he'll do better than expected.

Not holding my breath for Robertson becoming a great signing for us. Not seen or heard a positive thing about him. I'm hoping the other player we've signed is a striker. I feel we need to sign another striker as well. That player Taggart could be good if we manage to bring him in,heard good things about him from Morton fans and from what I've seem myself he could be the answer to our RB problem. I agree with the idea of a 6 month loan for someone to come in for Mensing.

As for players leaving thought I might include this,talking to a mate who supports Partick Thistle said that they're interested in Keaghan Jacobs. I told him hes not long signed a new deal but he's one player I definitely wouldn't want to lose. I can't see any solid story to it so not sure if its just rumour or if they genuinely are interested but thought it was worth mentioning.

Partick couldn't afford him so I wouldn't worry too much about him leaving.

I can remember seeing somewhere that we were after Jordan White and just read this on the SPFL site:

Hopefully its not him.

Read on Twitter that we're in talks with Declan Gallagher, was at Dundee last season.

It's up on wiki as a done deal, not that wiki is the font of all genuine knowledge.

He's up on assault charges too so guess that would need to be sorted out.

He cracked someone on the back of the head with a baseball bat. Hopefully he goes to jail.

FTR, I can only imagine we haven't signed anyone. Surely we'd have been told of any signings by now.
