QoS v Livi Empty QoS v Livi

Post by Liviforever Sun Apr 17, 2016 6:57 pm

Back to league business with a trip to Dumfries and for what is now a win or bust game to avoid the play offs. Ok it's still dependent on Dumbarton losing against St Mirren but until it is mathematically impossible for us to get 8th i'm not throwing in the towel.

We're on the ropes and being punched into submission but there are signs of Dumbarton tiring and Livi just might be doing a Muhammad Ali in his boxing twilight years. We're laying back against the ropes letting Dumbarton tire themselves out punching away at us with our guard up, just looking for the right time to put everything we have into a knockout punch winning it in the last round.

Big Shags to score a brace and Livi to win 3-1, fg 33 mins.

Only problem with your analogy is that it ain't Dumbarton doing the punching, it's everyone else.

We won't win in Dumfries, but even if we do, the Huns will now want to maintain momentum in the build up to the Cup final and Raith will want to do likewise approaching the first round of the play offs especially now that Hibs have the cup final and the chance to end their hoodoo, which I think they would take over promotion as it would make them legends. So we will be 9th and as even my expectations at the start of the season was 8th, even I am disappointed with the season.

Play offs won't be easy, Stranraer and Ayr are both getting impressive results, Peterhead seem to have blown up, so I think Ayr will make the final.

Anyway, for this games... QoS 2 Liv 0. FG 53 mins

Nah it's between us and Dumbarton so my analogy was spot on.

I'm hoping that Hibs start scoring goals and they beat Dumbarton, which will also help them put 3rd place to bed, and by the time we play Raith it should hopefully have Hibs securing 3rd place and Raith not having any reason to put out a full strength team. In any case we've gubbed Raith at Livi in the first game when they had plenty to play for so we can do it again.

If we get to the Raith game and are still playing for 8th place i'd be bloody delighted tbh. Just want everything to go our way this weekend coming and then take it from there.

Dumbarton have already punched us as much as they can, the problem is we haven't punched back hard enough and our rope-a-dope is fooling no one.

Queens have got rid of James Fowler so expect the first game bounce for their caretaker manager...

Late to the party with this site just saw it on EL website URL on P+B.

Anyway I can see us winning this game and the Raith one for that matter but I can still see Dumbarton pick up more points so I am giving up on 8th place. I'll go 2-1 Livi FG 19 mins

Queens have looked poor all season but have still managed to sneak wins which keeps them up the table. I'd say another win for queens today, although a repeat of last time we were there would be nice.

Thought the last time we played them at the turn of the year, they looked a step above us and we just couldn't cope. Although we've looked a bit more solid since, the lack of composure in holding a lead and actually looking like a coherent footballing side is still there. No doubt they'll benefit from the new manager bounce, too.

    2-0 Queens, FG 39 mins.

Us winning this game and scraping a 1-0 win over Sevco next week, Dumbarton losing to St Mirren and Hibs. Raith having nowt to play for and we beat them to take 8th place, believe.

Seen it in the Courier that Cole is suspended and Gordon is a doubt. So in a must win, we may end up having an unrecognisable defence with Kakay, Halkett, Neill and Longridge.

Can we not get Sives back if our 2 CB's are out? Would rather have him than Cole anyway.

Actually LC, that might not be a bad line up in defence, Kakay is a RB anyway isn't he and Halkett is a CB. Anything without Cole in it has to be a good thing too.

Sives is doing really well at Cowden, would be good if we could get him back, give them Cole instead.

    McCallum

    Longridge
    Neill
Halkett (if Gordon is out, otherwise he'd be on the right)
    Kakay

    Stanton
    Fotheringham
    Telfer
    Mullin

    White
    Buchanan

Reckon we'd have a decent chance with that. Shame we'll play 4-5-1 and lose, again.

    2-1 Queens, FG 17 mins.

Not sure what to make of this game Tommorow.Still feel that our failure to beat Alloa in our previous game against them was the opportunity we had to put pressure on Dumbarton lost.As ive said numerous times before i feel its only Dumbartons to loose.Yes we still have an albiet if slim chance of turning this around and would love to see us pull of the great escape, but i reckon we unfortunatly have left ourselves to much to overcome this situation.Youve done it before Livi, can you do it again?.Prove me wrong.Over to yous again!!

I'm going along to this resigned to the fact that we will be in the play offs.
If we win and Dumbarton get beat that will just be a wee bonus.

Fucking hell, Hopkin must think he changes teams at half time. No chance of us getting through the play offs with him in charge either.

On the bright side, we might actually win a few games in League 1... that's if we get rid of Hopkin and Martindale.

Reality dawns in the LF household lol!

In truth LF I admire your optimism and it is infectious, it is hard not getting caught up in it but I just remind myself to keep my expectations low but even I'm disappointed this season as I expected better than 9th

The difference between us and Dumbarton is seen in them losing 2-1 at half time to QoS and running out 4-2 winners and us leading QoS 1-0 at half time and being overturned... 3-1 as I type

Kidd sent off for QoS with 6 mins left... No LF it is NOT a glimmer of hope lol!

Not sure i'll bother going down on Tues, meaningless game for us and I don't think I could stomach the sight of us giving Sevco a GoH and them prob beating us too.

I'll be there for the Raith game though, another meaningless game but at least I can just relax after a few pre match pints and hopefully enjoy the game with us beating Raith to set us up for the play offs.
