Livi Prediction League 2016/17

Hibs took 3 seasons to go back up for a number of reasons.... And I have no particular motive to defend their failure to bounce back quicker.

1. as you point out the Hearts side which cantered to the championship - but Hibs finished second that season, so arguably would have won the title had Hearts not suffered from the admin points deduction the year before...so they had actually rebuilt relatively quickly.

2. they did a typical Hibs job of messing up in the play-offs against a poor Rangers side that had been tipped to stroll to the title

3. even if they had got past Rangers, the Motherwell side was too good for any of the championship opposition in the play-offs that season

4. the following season Rangers had strengthened sufficiently to stroll to the title & while Hibs blew it in the play-offs they had a history making cup win to console them & I would think that most Hibs fans were happier with that bogey busting cup win and staying down than they would have been with promotion & losing the cup final.

in the end they have followed up the cup win by cantering to the title, so have had trophy success in successive seasons...and put up a very credible defence of the cup, losing narrowly to the second best team in the country in the semi.

I hope they struggle in the top flight next season but I actually think they will stay up comfortably

The top 6 supported clubs really shouldn't be in the position to be relegated, but it just shows that any Scottish club can be badly run enough to get themselves into a right mess and either relegated via a points deduction or just plain bad management.

Oh to have someone in charge of Livi that could run us ike Ross County, Hamilton Accies, ICT or St Johnstone. Those 4 clubs are similar in size to Livi and a role model for us to aspire to. Time will tell if John Ward is the man to finally bring stability to the club, boy do the fans deserve it after all the headcases and crooks we've had to suffer.

Can scratch ICT off that list of well run clubs then, they seem to have fallen to pieces. From what I've read Ross County are heavily subsidised by their owners wealth, we all know how that can end.

We seem to be on the up, being well run and sticking to a low budget, who'd have thought it eh, i'm a bit less inclined to get carried away with that than our league position though, we've had too many bad scrapes with administration due to horrendous owners. Just keeping my fingers crossed that things stay on the up.

Looks like I've hit a slump in form with my predictions, coinciding with Livi's up and down form, must be quite close now.
