Stranraer v Livi Empty Stranraer v Livi

Post by Liviforever Mon Mar 13, 2017 1:07 pm

We've 6 games now against teams we've beaten several times this season, the title could be won before we even have to play Alloa in 5 games time, but that would be a brilliant game to finish them off and would surely attract a decent crowd down to our ground, kinda hoping that will be the game we win the title, just for the exciting build up.

Anyway back to this game, would be great if we could bang in 3 or 4 goals to get ourselves back on track after that defeat, and hopefully East Fife will take something from their game against Alloa. They've fought their way up from the bottom of the table though and are on a decent run in doing so, but providing we can stick some of our chances away this time we should beat them by a couple of goals.

Optimistic 3-0 Livi, fg 14 mins. Livi to come out all guns blazing and get an early goal to set us on our way to a comfortable win, we're due someone a 3 or 4 goal gubbing again......................................I can but hope

I suspect we are going to suffer a bad result down there. I think it will be a draw.

    1-1 FG 32 mins

Sadly I'm going to miss the Alloa game. Gutted.

Certainty to win this 4-0 now, if we do will you do us a favour and miss the Stenny game on Tues too? Laughing

Wonder if Hopkin will stick to the big man/wee man duo up front or go back to Mullen & Buchanan, and if he'll stick with Longridge-Gallagher-Halkett-Crighton back 4, or bring back Lithgow. Millar or Rafa in midfield is another decision. We've got another midweek game coming up again which will give us 3 games in a week so Hopkin will prob rotate the squad again, to try and keep things fresh in key areas.

I'll miss the Tuesday one if my train up doesn't get to Edinburgh on time. If we win on a Saturday I'll relax about that. Rolling Eyes
The first home game against Stranraer was an easy win but they tightened up for the next two. I think they'll give us a hard game. Willie Gibson is one to keep an eye on.

Aye, Gibson is prone to go prone at the slightest touch but is a regular goal threat.

We usually bounce back from a bad result but usually our bad results have been poor performances, so hopefully we don't take an adverse reaction from playing well enough but losing. We need to dig a positive result from this one.

    He's PoTM for Feb.

Goodwin is MoTM for Feb too, lets hope the curse is real and Alloa lose a game or two now, starting with East Fife this Saturday..

Tricky one to call this one.Regardless of the respective league positions they seem to have hit a wee bit of form recently and as has been said in Willie Gibson they have a real threat to us especially at set peices. We seem to have left the door ajar a wee bit allowing Alloa to close the gap between us some thing unthikable a few weeks back.Hopefully we will be playing on a slightly better playing surface than our tattie field which will allow us to play a fast passing game that will bring back the points to West Lothian.Wont be easy but we must put the foot on the gas again to Quell any fears our doubts that might start creeping in.Enjoy your jaunt down south Orco and hopefully you will have something to celebrate in old London town.Over to you Livi.Do It.!!!

Excellent result and 9 points clear of Alloa after goal-less draw in Fife and 1-1 at Hampden between QP & Brechin

That's what Goodwin gets for mouthing off in the press about us not going to be handed the title by Alloa, we'll have to win it. And that we'd be looking over our shoulders nervously as Alloa close the gap on us. Aye ok Jim. Greggy

MoTM, he wont win a game for the rest of March now. lol!

Tremendous result for the Lions yesterday coupled with results from else where.Maybe not the best weve played this season but at this stage its about points not performances. The finishing line is on the horizon its up to us to reach what will rightly be regarded as ours for the taking.Hopefully the weather hold out until after Tuesday as im not sure about the state of the tattie feild at the moment for what will be a massive game for us in tearms of promotion.Anyways enjoy the rest of your break in London Orco and i hope you make it back safely in time for Tuesday.LOL.P.

The grass at our pitch must be growing again surely, I know my garden is looking like it needs cut anyway, and it was quite short before the winter season kicked in. That should help with the state it is in.

Stranraer are the most stereotypical lower league Scottish team in this league. They're organised and have frustrated us since the change of manager but it would be so painful to watch them at least every other Saturday. I'll be more than happy to see the back of these lot after the end of this season.

Neither team could make three consecutive passes and perhaps it should've stayed at 0-0 but seeing us push on for the final 20-25 mins was much better than the frantic stuff we saw against East Fife. I reckon we'll have the league in both hands if we win and Alloa lose to Brechin on Tuesday.

Sean Crighton playing up front as well to try and snatch a win. David Hopkin is just the banter tactician of lower league Scottish football.

There has been some talk of us getting the benefit of a dodgy decision on Saturday, that Buchanan was offside but got away with it.

There is a video on the Twitter feed which I think proves the Lino got it right. I paused it when Cadden takes his shot and Buchanan looks onside to me when the ball is played.

Yeah it was quite funny, a couple of Stranraer fans were adamant Buchanan was offside and we got our win thanks to the lino, but it was later proved to be onside. One said he was well offside too. lol!

There was also a couple of Stranraer fans saying they thought he was onside though, and the guy that does their highlights came on and said it looked onside too. That's fans for you, just shows the officials get it right too but still get a hard time. Laughing
