Prediction League 17/18

Hi folks, thought I'd gauge opinion on this before going charging in and doing so. This forum has had a Prediction League for the past two seasons now, and judging by most of the replies to match threads so far into the season a lot of you are still putting up scores and first goal times (kudos). I'd be more than happy to update the league again this season, and I'll apologise for not doing this sooner - I buggered off on holiday for three weeks and missed nearly all of our glorious Betfred Cup group stage campaign, so haven't been posting scores myself.

The only reason I'm enquiring about interest in this is the prediction league being run on the Livi Supporters FB group (apologies to those who have no idea what I'm talking about), but given there's about 200 or so members on there and maybe no more than 15 real active posters on here, what are people's preferences?

I've attached a poll and let it run until next Friday - feel free to add suggestions, constructive criticisms, etc. here. If all is good by next Friday and posters are up for it, I'll set it up. What I would ask, though, is if you vote yes, please let me know here if you're happy to have it backdated to the first game of the season vs Partick, or starting with the game vs St Mirren on August 19th.

Sorry for the long winded post but I know the league did make an interesting thing here on the forum last season, and was something that I (oddly) enjoyed doing. Cheers!

Yes from me, I enjoy a predictor league, hadn't noticed it was on the FB page but I only go on there to read post match comments after a game as generally you get a mixed view on there, and some right wallopers posting on it which is entertaining.

Whatever is easier for you Afro, i'll be running away with it already if you backdate it though.

Absolutely yes but am getting concerned that its too simplified in like of the new penalty shoot out rule; simplified pitch design; retrospective bans for diving and simulation and VAR trial I suggest we have:

1pt for correctly deciding on the winning score
1pt for halftime score
bonus point for ht and FT score
Minus 1pt for more than two goals out
10pt for first goal reduced by 1pt for each minute out
minus 1 point for Bertie Bassett just because
And 5 point bonus for anyone with a name beginning with the letter "D".
Anyone older that 59 you be allowed multiple guesses

How soon do you think you could get that in place?

And a bonus of 100 pts for the nearest time of when Hopkin goes for a dump after his celebratory post match curry and bevvy session.

And a further fifty points deducted for anyone mentioning Canada

Apologies for the delay folks - looks pretty clear to me that the PL is a worthwhile addition to the forum! So I'll begin the scoring beginning with this weekend's match with Morton - I think in the interests of fairness that starting with a clean slate from now is the best option, but if there is serious dispute with that point I'm happy to backdate it early next week.

Aye i'll give you all a chance and not complain I was miles ahead of you all with earlier prediction.

I'll go for a Livi win and if it comes up i'll be ahead again, doubt anyone else will take us to beat Morton.

Sorry I didn't vote or respond, didn't notice it as I was rarely on here during my time away in the place that can't be mentioned. But I'm all for it as you would most likely have guessed given my predictions appearing in the match day posts.

Not really that arsed when it starts tbh, was just messing about. Easier for Afro just starting from the Morton game on Saturday so i'm happy with that.
