Sets up a cracking last game between Italy and Uruguay. Who'd have thought Costa would gub the two of them.

Everything going according to plan, which it really hasn't in this World Cup, the round of 16 is going to be good but the quarter-finals could be fantastic. Italy - Holland is a strong possibility if Italy can nick first place in Group D, if they don't then there's the chance they could face Brazil. Argentina - Portugal is also a good possibility.

Like I said though, that's if things go the way you would expect.

Yet another great game and a team stepping up into the limelight, France 5 (five/cinq) v 2 Switzerland.

Ref chopped a goal off right at the death too as he'd jumped in and blew his whistle just as Benzema was sticking in a cracking McNultyesque hit on the turn and volley.

Really enjoyed the Germany v Ghana game, the 2nd half was fantastic entertaining football. Neither team wanted to settle for a draw either and kept pushing for a goal right to the end.

A 2-2 draw was a fair result though as neither deserved to lose.

World Cup Games - Page 3 Empty Suarez Biting Again

Post by Liviforever Wed Jun 25, 2014 12:02 pm

He's done it again, sank his teeth into another player in the game against Italy. Must be heading for a life ban, that's 3 times now he's been caught biting players, getting a 7 and 10 match ban hasn't made any difference to stopping him, def needs some psychiatric treatment if he's going to continue playing.

There's talk he's getting banned for 2 years. I'd be surprised if it came to that but we'll see I suppose. Lugano is protesting Suarez's innocence which is quite unbelievable given the pictures.

Germany are still my favourites to win it but Colombia have now come 2nd to who I want to win. Their attacking football has been a joy to watch, tons of goals and a couple of top notch ones on Saturday. The volley was goal of the tournament so far and the other had some superb movement off the ball to drag players out of position, and the passing to set up the goal was also really good.

Ah well Colombia bites the dust due to a combination of dodgy refereeing and dirty tactics by Brazil, karma is a bitch though, Naymar injured and Silva suspended for the Germany game, the Ref will have to work twice as hard to get them through to the final. Unless Naymar isn't really injured as badly as they say and silva gets his yellow card rescinded with their appeal. the latter would be the icing on the cake for fixing it so Brazil wins.

After all the talk of various teams doing well, it's probably no surprise that we're down to Holland/Germany/Brazil/Argentina in the semis. Some big hitters there.

I wouldn't be particularly upset whoever wins - outside of Brazil.

I'm a bit disappointed there's not a real outsider to support, I'm just hoping for some exciting games.

    Woooft Germany 7 (SEVEN) v 1 Brazil.

Thought Germany would beat them but didn't expect that, brilliant.

Was absolutely glorious. Might be a bit churlish but I was raging when Ozil missed to make it eight, and even more so when Oscar scored.

If ever a team deserved a doing, it was this Brazilian world cup squad.

At half time I stuck on a couple of bets, Brazil to win 6-5 @ 500/1, because why not? And Germany to win 9-0 @ 80/1, it could have been 9-0 as well, when Cesar came out to clear a ball and when Ozil missed near the end, before Brazil got jammy. Only put £1 on each so I'm not that bothered.

Was brilliant to watch. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Incredible game, I doubt we'll ever see anything like that in a WC semi again.

Holland and Argentina were just desperate to bore us all to death. Both must have been too scared to meet Germany in the final.
