Start this early as I'm absolutely buzzing for this game.

Got a good feeling about this, 3-0 Livi, FG 14 mins.

I'm wondering how many players Queens will choose to rest:

    Saturday May 9, 2015
    Premiership play-off quarter-final, 1st leg

    Wednesday May 13, 2015
    Premiership play-off quarter-final, 2nd leg

    Saturday May 16, 2015
    Premiership play-off semi-final, 1st leg

    Saturday May 23, 2015
    Premiership play-off semi-final, 2nd leg

    Thursday May 28, 2015
    Premiership play-off final, 1st leg

    Sunday May 31, 2015
    Premiership play-off final, 2nd leg

They won't want to take the chance of many getting injured (or booked) and they'll be well aware we'll be well up for it.

Will still be a tough game; they have a pretty good squad and a number will be playing for a place in the play-off squad so who knows.

We need to keep it tight and not do anything stupid. Talking of stupid do we slot Cole back in the defence or keep with Sives? Cole is a better defender but that second yellow against Hibs really was reckless.

Of course eighth place is not entirely within our scope as we're relying on Cowdenbeath not to win against Alloa but we can only do what we can do and trust in Alloa to do us a favour.

Actually the Championship playoff's are equally tough in their own way:

    Scottish Championship play-offs

    Wednesday May 6, 2015
    Championship play-off semi-finals, 1st leg

    Saturday May 9, 2015
    Championship play-off semi-finals, 2nd leg

    Wednesday May 13, 2015
    Championship play-off final, 1st leg

    Saturday May 16, 2015
    Championship play-off final, 2nd leg

Have to support the team from the beginning and make sure there isn't too much nervousness going onto the park. Absolutely crucial in games like this.

If Cowdenbeath win, there's nothing we can do. We just need to make sure we are in a position to capitalise, should results go our way. I don't think this will be as easy a game as we got yesterday.

Good to see the club have cut admission to the QoS game to £10 - actually a bit of a shame they didn't go to £5 and get all the waiverers in.

Russell got a bad one yesterday landing on his head and neck, wouldn't think he'll be playing, and hopefully they'll rest Carmichael, if those two aint playing then I will be delighted as I don't fear anyone else in their team that will cut us open down the wings.

Queens rested something like 7 players when they were in the position last season, although they dd still go on to beat Cowden...

Fancy them to play a team of fringe players and U20s, hopefully we can get a win and Cowden don't. Nice of the club to cut the prices of this to £10/£8. Already fired off messages to mates to try and get an extra few down for this one, bigger crowd we have the better.

    2-1 Livi, FG 28 mins.

Same result as when Hearts decided to rest some players against us would do nicely.

As long as our players are up for it and go in with the right attitude it wont matter what team Queens put out against us, we can't afford to think this is a done deal and we don't have to bother turning up. Don't think we will though, Burchill seems pretty clued up in his post and pre match interviews knowing what we need to do in games. He made sure we had the right attitude going into the Raith game and as easy as it turned out a lot of that was down to how we played.

Delighted we have got into a position where avoiding automatic relegation is in our own hands & the two sides we are competing with in this respect can't "arrange" a mutually beneficial result...at least from before kick off.

That said...as I am eternally pessimistic about our chances....Alloa & Cowdenbeath will end all square & QoS will send us down.

Still fuming that this is a 12.15 KO....i'm working until half 2 in the centre and would have been able to make it for the original time of 3. As usual SPFL ripping off the smaller teams to accommodate themselves and the big teams.

TBF cockwomble wasn't the one responsible for changing all the games to the earlier time, he wanted to leave them as they were and have Hibs playing earlier than Sevco so Sevco would have the adv of knowing what they needed to do to get 2nd place. This was the TV companies dictating football schedules and fans don't matter a jot to them.

Time to work out all the permutations. cyclops

If we draw then we're guaranteed a play off place, a win gets us 8th place as long as Cowden only draw or lose.

    So:
Cowden win=Livi in the play offs no matter what our result is. Alloa relegated

Alloa win= Livi need a draw to get the play offs over Cowden relegated on GD/A win gets us 8th place.

Cowden/Alloa draw=Livi need a win to get 8th place/Draw gets us play offs on GD & Alloa relegated.

Livi lose=Alloa need to lose for us to get a play off place & Alloa relegated.

I think that covers it. Didn't bother with what puts us down as I'm only interested in how we survive.

Can't stop thinking about this one...

Well and truly in the realms of "are we there yet?"

    "are we there yet?"
    "are we there yet?"
    "are we there yet?"
    "are we there yet?"

Shame its an early start or I'd have a few jars beforehand.

Trying to think who I'd prefer to be relegated....

Alloa's brand of non- football; running away with the ball after a foul or standing right in front of the taker to stop things happening too quickly; climbing or pulling shirts and arms.

    OR

Cowdenbeath's angry brigade - veins standing out on the neck after the first ball is kicked etc... Actually they can be quite amusing I suppose.

Personally I've had enough of Alloa's zero football tactics; painful to watch and thoroughly frustrating (unless they drop an early goal when it all goes to pot)

Yeah prob head down about half 10 to have a beer or two and a swift whisky for the nerves too, then play a game of holding it in to HT in case I miss a Livi goal.

Away day wise I prefer Alloa, quite like going to their ground, only been to Cowden's once and really can't see me wanting to go back unless under the same circumstances for a very important game. Place is a dump, worst football ground I've been to and that includes junior grounds and public parks for kids games.

To be honest Alloa in the rain is no picnic; same goes for Capilow (sp). Hopefully we wont need to worry about Somerset Park next season.

Happened to me once before, like that TV advert, when I'd taken my son to the toilets and there was an almighty roar. It was our first season in the SPL and our first home game against Celtic - Broto had just saved a penalty.

Strangely when I got back to my seat I asked my daughter what had happened and she said she thought there'd been a free kick - it wasn't until later that I realised we were missing Garry Bollan from the team...

I've got my last ever University exam on Friday morning but all I can think about is Queen of the South at home on the Saturday, I'm not gonna be able to sleep on Friday night. Cowdenbeath are a junior club in every sense, they're massively punching by being at this level, but somehow manage to survive every season. I think we'll beat QOS on Saturday, maybe even by a couple of goals - but unfortunately I think Cowdenbeath will win in Alloa and it'll be the play-offs for us. I think we'll be a Championship club next season, but we'll do it the hard way.
