The third instalment of this clash...will we get a winner in the 90 mins?

Ditto. 3-1 Livi, FG 14 mins
I think we'll horse them in the 2nd half when they run out of steam again.

Think it goes without saying but get through this round and it'd cap off a pretty decent start to the season for me. Couldn't make it down to either of the games in Dumfries so I'm only basing my opinion what I've heard on here and P&B; like others have said, if Queens' legs were gone in the second half on Saturday, you'd imagine they'd be making a few changes for tonight. I think we've got enough quality to beat anyone in the league at home, I'd like to see Hippolyte brought off the bench towards the end to really capitalise on the opposition's fatigue similar to the Hearts game last week.
2-0 Livingston, FG 56 minutes.

Bertie, you'll have to put who you think will win overall as well.

I think we'll just get the better of them. Won't be comfortable as it looks but 2-0 Lions. FG 62 mins.

3-1 Livi, FG 18 mins.
Might make it along, but it'll be a last minute decision. Like Afro, I haven't made it down to QOTS for either of the other two games but reports have been pretty positive.
Another positive result against them tonight would be braw.

Really enjoyed that game. Thought we played really well throughout and a little bit of luck would have seen us through in the 90.
Huge difference in the crowd from last week, roll on the next round and hope for a home tie.

Pretty tight again as I suspected it would be; delighted we won through & good to see the squad being utilised fully too.
Our results so far have been very encouraging; lets hope it continues.
Dumbarton almost heaped further embarrassment on Hibs tonight but thanks to Alagui & Stanton Dumbarton cave in the last 12 minutes. Dumbarton's league record so far is woeful, hopefully we capitalise on that on Saturday.

A case of playing each other too many times in a short period and cancelling one another out. Delighted to be through to the next round though, we've waited a long time for a Livi team that can get us on a cup run, and like buses, two have come along at the same time.
Defence is so much better this season too, and DJ is turning into one of the best keepers we've had at Livi.
If you'd asked me where we'd be after playing QoS 3 times, in both cups and in the league, I'd hace said out of both and 0 points from our league game, so fecking delighted with how we've done against them. They must really be spewing at the thought of playing us again.

Wasn't impressed by Queens at all. Seem very very average without much of a goal threat. As for us, defensively, we look solid. Up front looks weak however, maybe it's just an off night for the lads but it didn't look as if we would score at all even if we played 120 mins extra after extra time.
Happy with the win and a chance of a decent tie in the next round although I'd like to focus more on the challenge cup

Certainly not the best game I've seen us play, especially compared to last week, but a win is a win. As predicted, it was a tight game but we just edged them out in all areas.
Although some parts of the crowd were frustrated at us trying to get the ball on the ground, QOTS were the opposite and just seem to go route one when there's a chance. Kyle had Russell in his back pocket before he came off (hope he's fit for Saturday); Keaghan and White ran their socks off; and McKenna's transition into full-time football keeps getting smoother and smoother.
Hold off the big teams for another round and I'll be very happy #feedthehippo #ambermachine #pleasing

Poor game we have played much better this season. Thought many of our passes were going astray and the ref got decisions wrong or missed them completely. Looking forward to Ogleby coming back and giving us more options up front, feel White is a bit slow at times. Thought Glen, O'Brian and Keaghan worked hard and McKenna is showing promise.
Was Kyle taken off due to the yellow card and being up against Beany (knowing the way he goes down!)

Agree with you re keaghan and White they are showing that hard work and effort goes a long way to getting results. Their attitude is rubbing off on all the team and we are getting the rewards of only having lost one game in seven. Well done done to the manager for bringing in in the new signings who have been integral to the success so far. Declan solid at back. White leads the line so well and scoring 4 goals so far. Hippo is the ideal impact player weighing in with 2 goals Glen and McKenna also adding to the work ethic.Robbo has also made an impact with his two goals. Only Ogleby has disappointed as I feel he is not an out and out frontman like White and is more suited to play in same role as McKenna or Mullen so maybe he will get the opportunity to play there when he returns from injury.LiviCub wrote:Certainly not the best game I've seen us play, especially compared to last week, but a win is a win. Saw White chase back down the pitch and win a tackle just outside our box, certainly puts in a shift. Hippo is a bit manic with his tackling, think he's been on the enrgy juice all day and is like a whirlwind when he comes on.

Pretty turgid affair really, but it was good to see two teams going hammer and tongs. Both teams were really solid, which in its own way makes it a good spectacle. I thought Gallagher was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch - he wins everything, and is extremely composed in doing so. I also thought Kyle Jacobs handled the threat of Russell really well.
I thought Queens had a couple of handy looking players - their number 23 (Smith?) looked sharp when he came on, and Lyle always causes bother.
Delighted to be in the hat/glass bowl/tombola machine for the next round, although Aberdeen away is probably as tough as it could get.

Ever since we got relegated in '06, I can only think of two other central defenders who have played for us and can fit the description as 'complete defender' just like Gallagher: James McPake and Jesus Garcia Tena.
