Really impressed with the sponsors for this cup, they make such a big effort to include the fans in this cup and not just pander to the blazers. They put the Scottish cup to shame.

Round 1 draw is tomorrow at half 2 and its available to stream on the internet somewhere. It'll be interesting to see who the champions draw early doors, although I have to say it's very disappointing we aren't given a by due to being the cup holders.
I'll be happy enough with a diddy team at home to kick her off. Raif at the Vale it is.

Edinburgh City home or away would be good, if only for something different. Outwith that, any of the sides outwith the Championship would be preferable, although knowing our luck we'll get Hibs or Rangers away... Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic but I can see us reverting to type and exiting the cups at the first hurdle this season. Would be class to win this again though, "diddy" cup or not the final last season was a really great occasion and it represents our best chance of winning silverware this season yet again.

Just remembered: ain't this regionalised? means we probably couldn't draw Raif, maybe Queen of the Souf at home instead TYVM.

A lot more fond of this competition after the way we took the piss in the final. Would happily see us do well again but I'd much prefer if we can finally do something in the Scottish Cup.
Edinburgh City away would be absolute carnage.
Stranraer away would make me cree.

It's like the scene in The Football Factory where they're all praying for Millwall in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and it happens. That'll be the scenes tomorrow afternoon if we draw Edinburgh City. Can imagine a lot of bitter Meadowbank Thistle types coming out of the woodwork for that one, especially if we draw them away. The pre-match beverages will be quite special.

Falkirk in the North section of the draw are jammy bassas, they have nobody to fear at all. Alloa and Raith being the only Championship teams.

Raith and Falkirk are in the North section, pretty jammy with Alloa being the only other Championship side in there.
Draw is in the SPFL website live at 2.30pm: http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/watch-petrofac-training-cup-draw-live/

Livi at home to Clyde, decent draw.
Hibs at home to Sevco, so one of the favourites will be knocked out right away.

Yeah, good draw in terms of progression.
Can't believe the boy on P&B saying it would be tricky. Surely any game is, if that one is?

Only way we'll lose that game is if our players don't turn up, need a swift kick in their nads if the lose to Clyde.
Just glad to avoid Annan or Berwick away, now those would've been tricky.

Pre-season hasn't been particularly inspiring so far with a surprising lack of goals considering the guys in the squad. Hoping that the competitive fixtures will sort this and the players will start to click a bit better.
Unsure how I'd line up as there seems to be questions about players throughout the squad, aside from Jamieson (I totally support the young guy being the backup keeper rather than wasting money on a backup keeper who won't play much, particularly if we aren't in the Development league (incidentally, I disagree with this unless some young players are sent out on loan)) and the full backs. There are obviously still questions about whether this Faria guy will sign as well.
I think we'll win this comfortably and have a tougher game the following week due to familiarity. 2-0 Livi, first goal 28 mins.

Anyone know who our official captain is? I noticed Buchanan was for at least one game but I'm not keen on the striker as captain & haven't noticed who else has led the side when Buchanan hasn't played.
As it is the first game of the actual season absolutely anything could happen, so for that reason alone it COULD be a tricky tie. We SHOULD win comfortably but I wouldn't call 2-0 comfortable & I don't think it will be as comfortable as it should be.
I'll go with 2-1 with the first goal in 19 mins
(In case the suggestion I made is adopted for the Prediction league I'll say 1-0 at half time)

Can't imagine us losing to Clyde. As EL said there's been a lack of goals, not scoring against a defence that has Dycey and Talbot in it is quite disappointing. Is this going to be the same story as last season? Score 5 goals in 1 game and then not score for the next 4 games?
I'm hoping even just for a 1-0 next week

I think Gordon had the armband against Motherwell.
Buchanan wasn't playing though so hope he isn't injured. Him and White starting up front against Clyde and we'll score goals no problem, just White playing up front himself and I fear a tight game, still should have enough to beat them though.

Just wait for big Craig Sives to run the full length of the pitch and smash in from 4 yards, seems to be the norm for this guy.

Wasn't massively keen on going to this as I'm saving money for my holiday, but if we re-sign Deks, then fuck aye, I'll be there.
Gonna say 3-1 to the Amber Machine, FG 18 mins.
